+M Lopez a bulbmin was a cave only pikmin in pikmin 2. They were bulborbs with a leaf on there back. they able to do everything the other pikmin could

Actually, I think the concept of a rock pikmin is really cool; it shows that pikmin really are sort like the ultimate life form on PNF-404, they're part animal and plant, and with rock and pink pikmin, they're now part earth and part insect.
I can't wait for this! I've been waiting for Pikmin 3 forever!!!!

What about bringing back purple and white in pikmin 4, plus the rock and flying, and maybe even a few other new pikmin. What about green pikmin that can climb, or earth pikmin that can go underground? Maybe even some way to transform pikmin into super pikmin (like bigger, stronger, faster, and maybe with some special ability depending on type). Red could breath fire, yellow could shoot electricity, and blue could drown enemies in floating spheres of water. GET ON IT NINTENDO, I KNOW YOU'LL DO GREAT!

This game was good, but I enjoyed Pikmin 2 much more. I hope they make another game that is more like the second. This game was more like the original so it would make sense.
I think pikmin 2 caves ruined the game. it had a lot of improvements but their were too many caves which were long and repetitive. I didn't finished the game because of them. I like more the time pressure/exploration gameplay of pikmin 1/3. Just my opinion.
If they make a new pikmin it needs elements from the 2 and 3, like the caves or pikmins. Also, new elements and monsters.

I played this game one week now and its great!
Which is my point, exactly. Essentially, to each their own. The latter part of my post was just addressing some facts of the console with a small projection at the end.
they're actually in the game, they're just not being advertised as much. There's some posters where you can see them but a lot of the time they're just cut out of the pictures

rocks aren't slow, they don't stun enemies, they can't grab onto enemies, and they can't be crushed or stabbed
Wonderful 101 is also developed by Nintendo. They cooperated so it is 1st part and a new Nintendo IP. Bayonetta 2 is 3rd party.

Oh my gosh.. I didn't realize how soon this game comes out. I'm gonna have to wait to get it but I will get it!
Also if you go to the Nintendo Direct Mini 7.18.13 when he is talking about the internet level rankings the pikmin listed in the box have both white and purple shown
They only exist in the multiplayer component of the game. You can play with them in several Mission and Bingo missions. Hope that helped.

They are. I, from Europe, got this game already and they do appear on the backside of the case!
Online multiplayer is usually worse than local. Brawl has taught me that. It's always nice to hear you and your friends on the couch yell and laugh rather than hear either scilence or some brat screming at you online.

Purple and Whites were taken out of the main story mode as to not overcomplicate things, but they're still in Challenge and Bingo Battle Mode.

Blue Pikmins are the only ones with mouths, or gills. They're one of my favorites.
if you think about it the rock and flying pikmin look like evolved purple and whit pikmin but still nothing can replace white and purple pikmin in my heart
Yaaaaaay! I'm glad you found out through your local store because after all, there are a variety of ways in finding information on this kind of stuff.
However, my point still stands. Just realize that searching that sort of thing is way much faster and easier to obtain using the internet. You don't even have to drive or walk to the nearest store, unless you really need to or like the exercise. By using the internet it's all at the tip of your fingertips. :-D

They're in the game, they are just only used in Puzzle Mode.
The reason for this (I assume) is because Caves are no longer going to be explored, there for, Purple and White Pikmin don't have a place to be found, since they originated in caves.

Since they are made of rock, it makes sense. Purples and Whites are however in the game's mission modes

I just really wish the White and Purple Pikmin were returning. Yeah, I get the Rock Pikmin kinda fill the Purple's role now, but Nintendo could add a special trait or ability that would be unique to the Purple Pikmin to keep them relevant.
I'd also like to know what happened to Olimar and Louie, and if they'll have a cameo. Or better yet, be hidden playable characters!
Amazing game, had not completed it yet but got around 10 or 13 more fruits to collect and then i'll do the last area, I've been playing it for 15 hours it would probably take up to 16 or 18 hours for me to complete the story mode and then theres challenges to do after along with Bingo Battle. :D
The graphics are excellent and very beautiful, the environments look amazing and I've taken some beautiful images of them with the camera you get in the game.
Well, no. Because there are still going to be obstacles and items to collect that are literally UNDER the water, meaning blue pikmin are still needed.

sometimes i like just going at my own pace too but to me i love speed running but this playthrough is going to be a three heart challenge
You can set an example, and through that change how you effect other people, and you can change how other people's actions effect you. It may seem helpless and like there is nothing you can do, but in reality, you can make a big difference over time.
Be the better person.
Also agreed that quality is definitely far more important than quantity. To correct a mistake I made earlier, I meant it can still thrive with its first party lineup. I said third for some in that sentence for some reason.
