Loved serving Tanya each time she visited Whitney Mountain Lodge in Garfield, Arkansas in the 90’s. She sometimes serenaded guests on their birthdays with her one-and-only voice. She never sought attention when she visited our Beaver Lake resort; Tanya was always incognito...but once she started singing, the whole dining room broke out with applause. I was always her waiter. She gave me my biggest tip- a very generous, thoughtful and unexpected $100 gratuity just for peeling her Peel & Eat shrimp and chopping up a raw onion which she always enjoyed with her salad. Got her autograph but sadly lost it during a move. I’d love to meet her again someday!

I was 8 yrs old when she did Delta Dawn and my mom always played it on the jukebox and I loved it then and I love it today. Two Sparrows in a Hurricane was my mother's favorite song by her but to me ALL her music is the greatest even her new music!!! I read her auto biography and I will continue til my last breath to idolize this spunky BEAUTIFUL lady!!! I'd probably die if I ever got to see her perform live. She's the shit and truly my fav female country singer of all time

I remember the first time I ever heard Tanya sing. I loved every song she ever put out. I was totally mesmerized by her voice, and the fact that she was so young when she started out! Truly one of the all time best in country music. Tanya was a teen and I was a few years younger so I could relate to her in my adolescent mind. I always thought she was so beautiful.
