I've never been much of an instrumental-only person, outside of classical, although I definitely have a Satriani album or two, and I loved Orion and The Call of Ktulu. These sound pretty interesting though.
Excuse me sir, but I believe you left out one of the all time best instrumental albums... Tiger vs Dragon!!! 😁 You've got some great albums in your list. I'll add a few. Michael Lee Firkins (self titled), Vinnie Moore (Mind's Eye), Andy James (self titled), Racer X (LIVE Extreme Volume) although not totally instrumental it has insane live guitar solos/harmonies.
Haha yes! Tiger vs Dragon definitely makes the list 😎 Also, dude! I need to check those out. I've only heard the Vinnie Moore one, not the others you listed.
My top 16 ---------------- 1) Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a Madman 2) Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood 3) Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon 4) Jimi Hendrix - Axis Bold as Love 5) Black Sabbath Volume 4 6) Led Zeppelin - In through the out door 7) Joe Satriani - Flying in a Blue Dream 8) Metallica - Ride the Lightning 9) Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz 10) Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon 11) Racer X - Technical Difficulties 12) ZZ Top - Eliminator 13) Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms 14) Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic 15) Audioslave - self-titled 16) Tool - 10, 000 Days
Nice list! I would of picked MAB, Vai and Satriani. A bit of a trick question since many people's favorite guitarists may not of had stand alone instrumental album. 😀
My favorite ones are YJM rising force, Vinnie Moore Mind's eye, Chastain Instrumental Variations, Joe Stumps Dark Lord Rises, Jeff Loomis Zero order phase, and Jason Becker perpetual burn.
Excellent top 16 Lester!!!
Thanks dude! 👋
Awesome video. Really dig the Michael Angelo Batio love. Lots of people need to listen to more of his actual music.
Thanks dude! Totally agree!
Great choices!
I'm glad you liked them! 😎

Understandable my friend! 👋
"The Extremist" is the best Satch album IMO.

Check out Chris Poland(Megadeth, Damn The Machine, Ohm) Return to Metalocalypse.
Tony McAlpine? Who's that? Showing your age there.
@@clutch2827 🫡 Salute to the elders!
Man if you haven’t heard of TMac there is something up, you should listen to Planet X MoonBabies, best prog instrumental albums out there
Leo Kottke?
I'll check him out!
You didn't include Jeff Beck. Massive fail. Sad day for you.
Haha never listened to any of his albums. Any recommendations?

"Blow by Blow" is considered his best but my favorite is "There and Back."
They are both worth a listen.
