    - Log into WordPress
    - Select `WooCommerce` then `Settings`

    Hi thanks for the video.. in order for woocommerce to automatically differentiate rates per various zone do we have to put in all the post codes for each zone? Even after entering the customer address mine keeps coming up with the default $25.00 flat rate :/

    Hello, thank you for putting this video together. I would like to know if you have a video on how to charge shipping for selected product only. We provide free shipping on all product national but like to start charging for selected products which are bigger and weight much more. How can I set this up for selected product on WordPress woo-commerce? Thank you.

    • @inmotionhosting
      @inmotionhosting  4 года назад

      I'm unsure of your specific needs, but you can configure shipping for specific areas instead of whole regions. For example, if want to ship to specific states in the U.S., you can navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping tab > Shipping Zones and click "United States (US)" zone name to open it. Then click inside the "Zone Regions" box. You can then select each state you want to ship too. If you wanted to add a conditional restriction, I did find these plugins you can try.
      wordpress.org/plugins/conditional-shipping-for-woocommerce/ (Free)
      woocommerce.com/products/conditional-shipping-and-payments/ (Paid)
      I hope this helps!

    What if the customer buys more than 1 item, say they buy 15 shirts... it will still be that flat rate of $5 ?! How do you fix that?

    • @inmotionhosting
      @inmotionhosting  8 лет назад

      In that instance, you would use table rate based shipping. I would suggest looking at the woocommerce guide on it. docs.woocommerce.com/document/table-rate-shipping/

    I was wondering if there is an easy way(if possible free) to add different shipping zones for same countries like lets say I choose for US - Free Shipping Delivery(12-20 or more days to get the package) and Fast Shipping Delivery(3-10 days) ... is there any way to do this without using classes on each product or anything like that? ... Have nearly 100 products and will be hard to create classes for all(if this is one of the methods).
    I just want to have a drop-down list from which the clients can choose the shipping between the two .. free and paid shipping.
    And if something like the above thing can be implemented per product, and/or per order.

    • @inmotionhosting
      @inmotionhosting  6 лет назад

      Yes, that is how shipping zones are meant to work. You can set the zones beforehand, and they can be as specific or generic as you want, and your customers will provide the input.

  • @2spoons

    This is a great video but do I have to add a different shipping zone for every product if they weight differently i.e... neckless or oak table

    • @inmotionhosting
      @inmotionhosting  7 лет назад

      No, you should not have to. Since the shipping is by zone, it should apply to all products and automatically calculate the shipping based on the area. For example, when they enter their zip code it should determine the shipping cost.

    • @VolkMetalCraft
      @VolkMetalCraft 6 лет назад +1

      I think you misinterpretted Stephens question. Obvious he would want to charge more for the oak table vs. the necklace no matter which zone it is shipping to. It would be nice to have the ability to enter a different flat rate per zone for each individual product. Rather than one flat rate for every single product available...

    • @inmotionhosting
      @inmotionhosting  6 лет назад

      Yes that would be more convenient. However, with what you are limited to by WooCommerce, I would advise making a "Bulk" shipping method in each zone. That should help you to be able to differentiate between a standard shipping and bulk shipping. Maybe even include a note "this item requires you to select Bulk shipping in your zone at checkout", that way your customers will know what to expect.

    How do you know what to charge, is there not a specific way it calculates the distance form your location?

    • @inmotionhosting
      @inmotionhosting  7 лет назад

      Hi, Bernard!
      Thanks for posting your comment about how much to charge for shipping. In this video, you have 3 options for shipping methods in which you can change the rates configured for each option. However, the rates are determined by the shipping companies. I would recommend setting up an account with a shipping provider (UPS, FedEx, etc). They will be able to provide the available rates for you. You can then configure them as the "Flat Rate" for each location you create. WooCommerce does not detect shipping rates from shipping providers. You may want to ask your shipping provider if they have any WordPress/WooCommerce plugins to accommodate your needs. I hope this helps!
      Sincerely,
      Carlos E

    I entered a local shopping option and put in the zip codes but it still gives me the price for shipping for the rest of my state when I go to check out. how can I have the whole state be $14.99 and my zip area be 9.99?

    • @inmotionhosting

      Sean, you will need to make sure that your local shipping option is listed above your 'rest of your state' option in the Shipping tab of your WooCommerce settings. Once it is above, be sure to save, and then retry.

    Can I use tags to include all states in a zone except AK and HI for example?

    • @inmotionhosting
      @inmotionhosting  7 лет назад

      You could tag products for example as "Continental US" but it would only help you group/organize products. It would not affect shipping. Typically, you would setup zones instead of tags for grouping regions since it would allow you to bill customers correctly.

      When your customer orders the product it will detect their shipping zone by address. So if they are purchasing a bigger item and shipping it to a certain location they will receive the correct shipping price for the shipping zones you have set. This video covers how to set those shipping zones. Was there something specific not covered in the video that you would like to see?

      WooCommerce has premium extensions for handling both "Per-Product" shipping here: docs.woocommerce.com/document/per-product-shipping/

      Hello William T. - Thanks for the question about Shipping in WooCommerce. There are a bunch of tutorials that may benefit you outside of the one that we have in our RUclips channel. Here's one: docs.woocommerce.com/document/per-product-shipping/. Woocommerce provides quite a bit of detail in their documentation on Shipping. You may need to review their instructions for your specific site.
