Something I saw worth mentioning.
In that first package, you called the first items socks. They’re actually mittens to put on baby’s hands when they’re infants to keep them from scratching their face. Babies have incredibly sharp and quick growing fingernails, so these mittens are used to prevent them from Edward Scissorhanding their faces! 🥰

I don't ever plan on being pregnant (serious phobia of parasites) but baby stuff is just cute. Little booties are my weakness😅
PS please don't read this as me thinking babies are parasites. They are adorable once out. I just couldn't bare the thought of feeling something move inside me

Mom of 4 here, here’s a list from what I didn’t see: Your going to need lots and lots of diapers and wipes! Someone else mentioned it but a breastfeeding pillow is definitely a must and having a cover (if you want to cover up) as well for when your out or have people over. Breast feeding bra, makes feeding much easier. Pacifiers have saved us lots of crying and has soothed our kiddos. A diaper genie, it holds diapers, especially stinky ones, in it and keeps the smell inside the container. Snot/booger sucker (bulb thingy they use when baby is born to clean out airways) for colds, cuz baby won’t know how to blow their nose and a thermometer. Burp rags, lots of them, babies spit up a lot. Diaper rash cream. That’s all I can think of right now 😂 And I’m proud of you for having the mind set of not putting pressure on yourself when it comes to breastfeeding, every mom and baby is different and all you can do is what’s healthy for you and baby! Praying all goes well! 💜

For wallpaper, I really like the dark and light options that Ali pointed out. I think the big factor in picking a lighter or darker wallpaper may be the shade of sage green. Also, darker colors tend to create a sense of comfort, coziness, and make rooms feel more full. Lighter colors tend to be more energizing and give the illusion of larger rooms/ more space.
Working in a daycare they painted the sleeping room light blue 💙 it's suppose to be very calming for children. White is more of a bright/awake color.

I personally really like the headgehog wallpaper that Ali pointed out, I feel like it would go nicely with a sage green, I don’t think the darker ones are a good idea with the siding though since that could clash pretty badly and end up looking a bit too dark
I think you should go with the white squirrel and mushroom wallpaper!- I feel like the darker ones would make the room feel more like a cave then a forest. But I’m sure whatever you pick will be adorable :))
Also she can add colours to the room with accessories instead. I'd definitely go with a lighter wallpaper too. Plus the paneling will add colour.

I like the white/cream wallpaper with the mushroom on it. It creates a light and calm atmosphere and i like the fact that it isn't overly detailed - detailed woodland animals can look a bit creepy, especially in a nursery. But they are all adorable, whatever you choose, it will look great!
I liked the bright one too, but not the one with the mushroom, it looks a bit poisonous to me, idk… the green ones are BEAUTIFUL, I even use similar to those with the Tiny twavelers package in my sims rooms, but it’s gives a dark vibe which I am not sure about…

Same! I had my first son 9 years ago and it’s been a wild ride learning all the things that come along with being a mom since then. I definitely chuckled a little hearing her call them socks but knew I had no idea about baby mittens with my first too!

Seeing Clare get excited about little baby clothes makes me tear up. I've been watching her videos since I was 8, and I'm 13 now. She sparked my love for video games and her openness made me feel like I never had to hide anything about myself and could embrace my geeky weirdness. :) I recently started questioning being lesbian and without Clare's queer storylines in the og series, i wouldn't be accepting of that part of me anytime soon. I cannot express enough how much you've impacted my life and made me laugh and comforted me through my mums chemotherapy a few years back.

I had a sleep sac for my son and it was honestly the best thing ever. I also LOVED my baby bjorn hands free carrying harness. It was so convenient!

I absolutley LOVE the squirrel/ mushroom wallpaper, you would be able to have more colours in the room if you have a lighter wallpaper and would make the room look bigger, its also very good to have the babies room to be brighter !! also that wig looks amazing on you!!!

I would definitely suggest getting a Love to Dream swaddle, especially if you find your baby prefers to sleep with his arms up. It's so much easier than a traditional swaddle, which I found difficult to figure out as a first time mum 😄
Also, definitely go for the cloth nappies, we've used them for a few months now and no nappy rash or anything. And they're so cute too 😍

Aw, so many lovely things. Yeah I always say to friends to shop for older baby things as you get so much for new baby or 0-3 months. I started with disposable and moved on to reusable nappies. The reusable ones were amazing, can't recommend them enough. It completely removed nappy rash from the equation and little madam looked so adorable bopping about with a little pokeball nappy!

definitely get a boppy pillow. those pillows are great for breastfeeding but also for baby as they grow. you can use them for propping up, tummy time, and back support as they learn to sit.

You will definitely need a breastfeeding pillow. They are a lifesaver! My babies always slept on theirs even after we stopped breastfeeding. They each had to have their own. Lol. Baby swings also are a lifesaver for fussy and cranky babies. It helps to soothe them without wearing you guys out too.
I really like the lighter wallpaper with the mushroom and white background- I think it’s less intense and less stimulating in a room where the baby is to relax ☺️💙💙

as someone who used to work in postpartum care, we always used to say “fed is best”. It’s such a good idea to be prepared on formula and not put too much pressure on breastfeeding. As long as your baby is being fed and is happy/healthy, that’s the only thing that matters at the end of the day! You’re gonna be such a great mum 💕✨

A book recommendation for you that I read to my son every night is "On the night you were born" by Nancy Tillman. You will not regret getting it. Such a beautiful book. Also the light wallpaper with the squirrel is my fave..
i don’t know if anyones said but it can be super good for baby to prewash all clothes so they don’t have any factory/shipping/receiving germs on them, since the hot dryer setting will sterilize the fabrics 🤍🤍 with my lil one we did absolute tonnes of laundry leading up - all the bedding, clothes, teddies, and our pram as well was sterilized with wipes or the wash

Hello Clair. A good tip is, feed the baby the milk you pump at night time. Milk pumped at night contains more melatonin, so it helps baby sleep.

At the beginning the cute baby clothes you were showing; the little "socks" you showed are actually little mittens for the babies hands so the baby doesn't stratch his self.
Wallpaper; The one white mushroom/squirrel one or the white fern/hedgehog one.
I'm so excited for you and Ali! Oh just a note, those bath toys that squirt water, be very careful with them. If they don't dry out well they can get mold inside. One way to prevent that (it will not squirt water though) is to use a hot glue gun and glue the hole shut. :)

i like the white wallpaper with the dandelion puff and squirrel, I think it's gentler on the eye and white goes with everything so if you want to change up some of the colors you could easily do so. I'm so excited for you guys to have your own babliroo!!!

LOVE all the baby things! As a mama to 2 boys (now 12 and 5!), I want to encourage you to be easy on yourself if you end up not using everything. I remember feeling so guilty for not utilizing everything we bought, but some things the little ones didn't prefer, and some I didn't.
I did cloth diaper, and I LOVED it. Until they eat solid food, you just throw it into the wash. So, that made it less intimidating to start. There's lots of good info online. It's important to note that it doesn't have to be all or nothing. You can switch back and forth, and that's fine too.
I'm so, so glad that you are preparing for the possibility of bottle feeding too. A fed child is a happy child, no matter how they eat. I breastfed my oldest for 2 1/2 years and the youngest for over 2 years. That being said, right after my youngest, I got very ill and ended up in the hospital (Nothing to do with postpartum, and it will not be happening to you or other pregnant folks. It was a different health situation.) So, my parents had him, and he was on formula for several weeks. I took it poorly emotionally. But then I realized that Felix (the baby) got this INCREDIBLE bonding opportunity with them. He's still so close to them. Anyway, all of that to say: no matter how it works out, it will be all right.

The little socks you talked about are actually gloves! They’re really useful for small babies because they have really long sharp nails and the gloves stop them from scratching their faces ❤❤

I think the navy blue with the big detailed mushroom paper will play off the paneling the best and since a lot of ur furniture and blankets are lighter shades it will give the best contrast and still make it feel cozy when ur up feeding at 3 am. If it's too bright it will be harsh on the eyes when ur exhausted. Also babies see contrast better
Claire I'm so happy for you and Ali. It's such a exciting time and I can't wait for you to go on your journey. You kept me company through this pregnancy especially at Christmas when I had covid. My little girl is 4.5months now and it's the best experience in the world

OMG, so many cute stuff!!☺I really recommend buying some buggy gloves, because they are super warm and also attach to your buggy, they are very useful especially if you are having your baby in autumn.

We did disposables until our son was five months old, then we got a whole setup for cloth diapering from a friend, and it was definitely not as scary as I thought it would be. We also did elimination communication (part time, not hard core 😅) and that reduced our diaper usage quite a bit.
