      Hey salt strong do you guys have this rod available or do you guys know anyone with one available?

    For that application I use an Ugly Stik Inshore Select 7'6" 10-20lb with a Daiwa Fuego 3000 loaded with 20lb braid. The rod works very well for $70 and the Fuego doesn't have a metal body but it does have Magseal, so there's a trade-off in what for me are equally desirable features for the same price as the BG.

      The new ugly stick inshore rods are great.

    FYI, I just received my TFO Professional 7’6” MHF and it’s very tip heavy or unbalanced with a Daiwa BG 2500 due that lower reel seat and subsequent longer rod. I hope that I’ll gain casting distance, but the 7’ may have been adequate due the increased rod length. Threw the 3500 on it and it was slightly better but that’s on a St. Croix Triumph Inshore 76 MHF and its balanced perfect!

    Agree with Luke on dock setup. Would like to see best setup for bridge pilings, structure, etc. targeting sheepshead & black drum-under 30' -specifically using jigs with fiddler crabs/ sea urchins

    Thanks for the video! I am partial to the tidemaster MH but in 7 foot for dock fishing. Maybe it’s all in my head but I find I get the fish out quicker with the shorter rod. I’ve got mine on a Stradic 3000 with 20lb not 15lb. Maybe I should give this a shot. You are the one responsible for moving me to 10lb years ago for my traditional inshore set up’s. I’ve always been guilty of overkill I just hate was losing fish.

      I have a stradic 4000 on a 7 foot mh mojo inshore that I had set up for bigger reds, ended up using it for popping corks inshore and spanish when I go out to rigs lol

    I’d love to see the tackle shop to offer spare spools for the BG MQ. That way I could have one spooled up with 15 lb. Braid and have another with 20 lb. braid for dock fishing.

    Indeed looks kind of short handle/low seat for that weight class. Are you supposed to hold it above the reel or on the thread? Single piece long cork handle probably doesn't help balance either.
    Anyway, rod is not the thing one should buy online using just recommendations imo. Everybody's different. Like taller guy on the shore would probably prefer 8', while casting from a less comfortable boat one could go closer to 7'. And then fast at 8' feels different than fast at 9'... a mess you have to feel for yourself.
    Rods are important. Particular 7'6" is anything but.

    I’d say this is accurate. That’s a good rod and reel and you’ll get your money’s worth out of it

    In a previous video, Luke said baitcasters were the “easy choice” for fishing docks. Why the contradiction?

      Saltwater.
      Baitcasters for saltwater like a tranx 200 are not “budget”

    TFO pro with the Fuego 3k still does the same

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  Год назад +3

      Very true... only issue with the Fuego is that it is prone to flex, but I haven't heard of any of them breaking so it's not an issue other than just an odd feeling when it's flexing.

      iPhones are made in China and are considered super high quality. Don’t automatically discount something because it’s made in China. They have some of the highest quality factories in the world.
