Yes, there are different narrations on this topic, and Allah knows best. However, the hadith stating that the Mahdi will emerge from the region of Khorasan is strong. During that time, Khorasan was also a region inhabited by Turks.

This will be the first time in 1500 years that the Law given to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is abrogated by Isa son of Marry and it also indicates to that prediction of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that the time period given to his Ummah is 1500 years max and before the end of it Mahdi will appear and rule as a Calif for 7 years.
