I don't know. Difficult. The Tricity 300 weighs less (about 50 kg) and the fuel consumption is better. I think best is to look at the price. Maintenance is about the same, though oil needs to be changed every 5000 km for the Tricity, while it is 10000 for the MP3 500. Maybe it is even better to get your motorcycle license and buy a normal motorscooter. Which weighs less and is overall faster (not top speed, but overall).
@@oenningralf No. 5000 km.
You have gone lighter with the 16g for faster take off! How is the gearing when your travelling faster ? As i have installed the flying pulley 18g which is a little faster accelerating and feels like a bigger engined scooter when I'm traveling at 40-60 mph . I have heard that changing the stock 17g rollers with 17g sliders is the best of both worlds. !
For 4 stroke bikes another exhaust (especially just the muffler) doesn't do that much for power / top speed. It weighs less and sounds better (and sometimes it does not sound better), but for real improvement for 4 stroke engines, you need to do a lot more.
The Xmax 300 isn‘t much quicker but it gets up to speed way faster, this almost seems like a 125 in comparison. I can overtake people now and then on my Xmax, I‘d assume that you can‘t really do that on the Tricity
The top speed is not that much higher but from 0 to top speed the XMAX 300 is way faster. The Tricity weighs a lot more. It feels like a 125-150cc or so. But it is for car drivers so good enough. If they want more they can take lessons and get a real license. :)
Up to 50 km/h my NMAX 155 is about as fast, above that the Tricity 300 is faster but still it feels different from the XMAX 300. But that is no problem as the Tricity 300 is for car drivers. If they want more and go faster they can take riding lessons and get a motorcycle license.
This is terrible performance. Midway 90s I had a Puch Thunderbold with a 80cc block with a modified exhaust (+ removed all weld props that reduce airflow), improve brakes, bigger carburetor, adjusted throtle splitter for full throttle range and rollers and did already 120+km/h. Even with a passenger we we're still doing 100+. I know that because we we're faster than cars on the freeway with a 100km/h limit. A 300cc engine should have way better performance. I wonder if some tuning is possible...
You can't compare this to a tuned 2 stroke moped back in the day when there was no such thing as Euro4, Euro5, Euro5+. Next, this is 4 stroke and it weighs a ton. 235 kg. You really can't compare this. That's apples & oranges. The same engine under the XMAX 300 performs a lot better.
There's been rumors of a Yamaha 3-wheeler on T-max "base" (e.g. everything beyond the front assembly), same a Tricity 300 is a X-max 300 + new front. Since forever, 2020 at least. That should've been a blast. The catch is, their much bigger MT-09 based Niken is somewhat of a flop. I'd venture to say, for a number of reasons not quite just about it being a "leaning reverse trike", still, guess, that dulled Yamaha's appetite for these kinds of tech. Big shame, because in my experience Tricity300's front is already pretty much strong enough to handle T-max's ass behind it, not just X-max's. It would add far less weight than power. Why wouldn't they just do that is beyond me. For now the only true supermaxi, by which I mean models with frame-fixed engine and separate rear suspension, is Kymko's "3-wheeled AK550", CV3. I'm almost getting one, but for some reason they decided on some really glaring weaknesses, foremost being puny 13'' front wheels (seriously? Tricity 300 has 14''. If I want double front grip, I definitely don't want it "double of 0.75 normal"), and very restrictive seating with that bloody back rest, which makes it far less comfortable on the long rides for people of 1.8m+, which I am, than either AK550 itself or, actually, Tricity 300. And you'll need a special atelier to remake the whole seat for you to do anything about it. (*side note: Kymco seems to be cursed with far sub-optimal seats. I've ridden downtown, I am now on my 4th year with Xciting400, both are amazing bikes in most regards, high end stuff, well-built, with great value for money, both just beg to bring their seats to re-forming atelier, which I did with mine) We also have mp3\fuoco (which is basically a reskinned mp3 500), but those are "still just basic maxi" (even that half liter is in scooter-style unsprung rear "engine+variator leg" assembly), have that dated and "sophisticated" "vespa-like" front suspension assemblies (which are known to break/fail far too easy and PITA and fortune to fix), weight a ton and feel every gram of it, and overall really beg for a full generational change, as they are still 15+ years ago models with little modern polish. I test drove recent mp3 500 this summer and also did a week on a rented tricity 300. There is literally no darn reason to pick the big piaggio over. it's like 1.5x weight 1.5 price and you still get the same "120? just a moment! 140 gimme a moment to steam up please." granted, you can push mp3 500 to 160-165 about the same as you push tricity 145-150, but that's about it, and mp3 feels way "heftier" at city speeds (and it is).

Yep, really heavy. Hope not to many damages? It drops stand assist quickly, almost even as fast as only looking at the throttle.

Absolutely! It disengages even faster than the drivechain lock on the Piaggio MP3.
