"The rear end, terminating in an abrupt vertical profile.", the voiceover man said. "Just like the beautiful lady in the red dress, with the nice bum!", I thought. 😇
This and the Vaneo were the worst vans Mercedes ever produced. Almost every major component failed, the bodywork had almost no rustproofing and the level of workmanship and quality control in the Spanish MB plant was unfit for Mercedes-Benz. Those minivans are often driven hard and not serviced as they should, but Vito/V-class started falling apart immediately, there are still a lot of VW Transporter and Ford Transit vans around from around 1999-2004, but these are rare because most are already in scrap yards.
Doesn't seem to be the case in Australia, still pretty popular van, particularly the 108cdi. I have two of them but I will say that one is having immobiliser problems that are driving me crazy! Plus, the door handles are a really poor design, I've been trying to work out a better aftermarket option.
Much cooler than vw's

Almost 20 years later my unit is as good as new. Still rocking on highway and not eaten by rust.
A sapphire one still drives around in my area.

@@zebronki hi Zeb, are you having immobilizer problems or door lock problems?
And boy...was this thing crap!
I have one for 10 years...run great....but yeah...its a van....mine is 110D from 98
I m still running a m111 engine version. Almost all the plastic bits in the cabin are brittle and broken.
Still have mine. Runs well but rust is an issue
