I wish people would stop comparing Fantasia and Jennifer because their only similarities are the colour of their skin. Fantasia takes you to church and got that old school spiritual voice that just rips your heart out with the emotion she brings everytime and you feel what she feels. Jennifer is crisp and clear like a cool drink on a long hot day. Hudson just takes you on a journey with her voice and shakes your core the way Whitney did. Both women are PHENOMENAL singers and AI was blessed to have discovered them because these women right here are very rare.
I think part of it also has to do with the 3 of them being the 3 best singers of the season. Diana degarmo was great but imo she got nothing on these 3
A great reminder that Season 3 was epic: we saw a Top 3 (Fantasia, Diana, and Jasmine) that was all under 21, all female, and 100% diverse. We saw 3 females hit the top 100(Fantasia, Diana, and Jennifer), 4females( Tasia, jhud, Diana, latoya) in the Top 8 go on to headline Broadway and National Tour Productions, And 2 females( Fantasia and Jennifer) to go on and become 21st century Music Legends.
Season 3 was the best season idol ever saw. Yes there’s lots of seasons with great people. However, Fantasia, Jennifer, Diana, and Latoya are a cut above the rest and we saw them all in the same season. That’s EPIC.

They are two different style singers. Fantasia has that old school quartet gospel style voice while Jennifer has that old school church choir voice. Fantasia energy always gave me Patti Labelle. Jennifer range, poise, power and soul gives me Patti and Aretha combined but with a lil Whitney thrown in there. Latoya is great as well. She always gave me Broadway. Beautiful performance.

I think people underestimate how much Jennifer Hudson grew after Idol when they say she deserved to win over Fantasia. Fantasia killed her season and she is still killing it. Jennifer had an amazing voice, but needed some time to grow into it I think. Fantasia was ready, Jennifer wasn't yet. Now, I don't think there are much singers that would be able to beat Jennifer Hudson in a singing competition.

Congratulations JHud on all of your success. I've always said Jenn's voice is what you hear every Sunday on the praise/whorship team and or choir. A lot of people may not have singers like that in their church but I definitely have them in mine so I've never really been wowed by her voice alone although her awards for Dreamgirls was so deserved. Fantasia is just different. From her style, to her own emotion through song, which pulls emotion from most of us, to her presence on stage. The girl has an anointing all over her.
I'm happy they are all living their dreams. It's fun to watch Jennifer as a Voice judge in London. She's been there and she knows how the contestants feel.

3 great singers!!! On some level it's a question of taste, but even in this performance (and the audience responses) you can hear/see why Fantasia won her season. And that's not comparing her just to JHud who wasn't even in the finals. (She wasn't even Top 6.) Fantasia not only has a great voice, but she has a presence on stage that Jennifer still doesn't have IMHO. Fantasia has an ability to embody the songs that she sings that very very few people have. People refer to her as raw, but you almost NEVER hear a bad note out of her. I agree that JHud improved vocally since Idol, but I think that a part of the reason she went home (besides the CRAZINESS of the 3 best singers being in the bottom that night) was because she wasn't as "likeable" as Latoya and Fantasia. Kudos to JHud for her "acting" awards and Grammy, but her MUSIC (which is what Idol was about) has NEVER outsold Fantasia's. And that is a simple fact. I'm glad they're all doing their thing and wish LaToya (and George) had made it bigger. They were a part of the BEST season of American Idol.

Congratulations JHud on all of your success. I've always said Jenn's voice is what you hear every Sunday on the praise/whorship team and or choir. A lot of people may not have singers like that in their church but I definitely have them in mine so I've never really been wowed by her voice alone although her awards for Dreamgirls was so deserved. Fantasia is just different. From her style, to her own emotion through song, which pulls emotion from most of us, to her presence on stage. The girl has an anointing all over her.

Fluffy Anxiety she got that Grammy Oscar and Emmy for a song that she didn't write please run along. Jennifer Hudson is an amazing singer but her albums everyone has been a flop. And Fantasia was the clear winner of her season from she audition.

3 great singers!!! On some level it's a question of taste, but even in this performance (and the audience responses) you can hear/see why Fantasia won her season. And that's not comparing her just to JHud who wasn't even in the finals. (She wasn't even Top 6.) Fantasia not only has a great voice, but she has a presence on stage that Jennifer still doesn't have IMHO. Fantasia has an ability to embody the songs that she sings that very very few people have. People refer to her as raw, but you almost NEVER hear a bad note out of her. I agree that JHud improved vocally since Idol, but I think that a part of the reason she went home (besides the CRAZINESS of the 3 best singers being in the bottom that night) was because she wasn't as "likeable" as Latoya and Fantasia. Kudos to JHud for her "acting" awards and Grammy, but her MUSIC (which is what Idol was about) has NEVER outsold Fantasia's. And that is a simple fact. I'm glad they're all doing their thing and wish LaToya (and George) had made it bigger. They were a part of the BEST season of American Idol.

The truth is, Fantasia got a record deal as a prize on winning American Idol while JHud had a record deal years after Season 3. Jhud is basically self made while Fantasia has the push of the record company at American Idol peak.
JHud is still a success regardless and now she is an EGOT winner.
@@iris089 , do u honestly think anyone would know Jennifer's name if she had not been on Idol? That she would have gotten the part in Dreamgirls had she not been on Idol? I won't even go into how the tragic murders of her family members increased her visibility and sympathy for her. Idol helped make Jennifer as much as it did Fantasia. And even with all of her fame again her music has never outsold Fantasia. Not one of her albums. I still don't think she's a great actress (Oscar or not), but she has an excellent voice and has been making some smart business decisions. Congrats on her EGOT status.
