I have lived in Shanghai, Hongkong, Madrid, NY and Ghent. Ghent is definitely my favorite city and Belgium as my favorite country❤
No mention of the southern part of Belgium, especially the Ardennes, or visiting Dinant or Namur! If you just focus on the Flemish part of Belgium, you’re missing out badly! It’s definitely not all about beer, waffles and chocolate!
Trees, hills and forests are boring. Sure it's worth a visit, but Flanders has more to offer.
When I did my interrail years ago, I visited 4 cities in belgium and I loved all of them.
the best festival is at Binche for carnaval.

Ghent and Bruges are nice, but you can't say they equal Venice, or even Amsterdam.
Brussels and Antwerp are nice cities.
Otherwise Belgium is a little bit dull.
Amsterdam is overrated and Venice over crowded. Belgium is always a smart option.
