But Josh, has the quality improved any. They were the neatest unit in the world. I wouldn't touch it till the quality comes back into the product. That is where I would love to see your videos focus more on. What are the manufacturers doing to up their quality game?.
We are actually talking about this in a live stream here on this channel TONIGHT at 7pm so.. tune in for a lot more info on the topic My cliff's notes version: Jay flight has gone thru up and down phases over the years. During the covid period they were actually holding up a LOT better than many other things (especially in a stick and tin market) but it wasn't either absolute best period either Since then they've slowly and steadily improved. They focused inward on their factory processes are are generally doing one of the better jobs in the stick built market right now Room for improvement still? Absolutely But I'd camp in a Jay Flight myself without hesitation
This one wins by far more than the 261BHS or the 263BHS due to the fact that the 261 has a neck wrecker entertainment center. And the 263 dosent have the m-m-m mega window!! I'm actually glad there isn't a griddle. Also I'm glad there is white cabinets, helps to break up the area. I just really wish there was a window up in the top bunk and there was a actual fan. Other then that its not a bad starter camper! Thanks for showing us around!! 👍🏼🔥
Every time a Jayco is presented it's my don't disturb me moment. I like so much this brand. Once again, so many good stuff and ideas. Yes the big shower is always a winner. The door in the middle of the awning, great detail I didn't consider if it rain. I usually don't like bunk trailer but this one I would. Jayco is always on top of my list. 🎉
The 261 is a similar layout to our Grey Wolf. It works great for our family. What I like about this 265 is the camp side windows and the TV across from the sofa. But, that stove seems awkward tucked into the slide. We never use our stove or oven, so the dish drying rack lives on top of it while camping. I'm not sure how that would work here. It's an interesting floor plan, though. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Nerd! I am comparing the 265BHS and 261BHS from a couple with occasional guests perspective. 265BHS would be my pick due to room around the commode, entertainment across from sofa, road mode and room in the bedroom.
I actually kind of dig this camper. It’s got the basics which is basically all you need. And I agree you don’t have to load these things with everything in your house. I think that’s what camping is all about minimalism. You’re going to have a great time Not traveling back-and-forth to Black tie dinners lol. I do very much appreciate the height of the campers that you have videoed lately. I’m 5 foot nine but I always prefer a lot of headroom in the shower. I guess if there was one grip it would be that unless these things are huge Signature RVs the showers are relatively small, but definitely doable. Again this is camping right 😂. The spare tires are a fantastic add-on that a lot of these folks don’t put on their RVs. Either that or they make them so damn difficult to get to that you hope and pray that you never have a flat lol. As usual, never been crazy about the bunks, my kids are grown and gone, so it’s just me and my honey. So this one’s definitely a possibility if I had a half ton truck. But for my Tacoma, it’s a no go. Keep Rockin Josh.
Like it. Nice living space. The kitchen is not bad for a weekend camper. The bathroom is good. The bedroom is good. Over all this Is great for going out on the weekends.
This one easily beats the 261! A couple of questions please. Import tires? How about the entry door? 24” or 30”? Is the underbelly enclosed? Hope not. Makes it easier to fix things ! The floor vents are just fine in that location. A way better solution than heating the cabinets with the metal dryer hose that they use for running connectors for the above the floor duct work. Any idea how big a tv will fit?
*TIRES:* A "Jay Flight SLX" rides on Imports. A "Full" Jay Flight has Goodyears *DOOR:* I don't recall sizing offhand apologies. Our local folks can verify for you *BELLY:* Normally SLX models have no belly enclosure and full-Flights do. We almost always get our tandem axle SLX models with an enclosed belly for our stores though *TV:* MFGS do not provide any concept of max tv size nor can I keep track of that across all the models I see. Again that's an easy tape-measure check for someone at our local stores
Visually they're looking better but as I recall these are not sealed. I see a lot of campers and usually check that as I'm live in person because I cant remember them all
Josh, there's no pricing when you click on the link, sir. FYI. And speaking as the Dad/Husband in this deal, who always handles the septic duties.. having separated black and gray tanks is an automatic disqualify on this rig. Anyone who goes to larger parks knows the lines to the cleanouts at the end of the weekend is already in a rush with like 5 or 6 rigs stacked behind you. Separated black and gray flush would add like 10 minutes to the dump station, plus extra disconnect and reconnect headaches. No Bueno.
*PRICING* Ty for the head's up. Apparently this one slipped thru the cracks in our posting processes. We'll get someone creating that listing with pricing info
This would be perfect for me if it had more gray tank and a griddle in the outside kitchen. Love it and the travel mode is great. Wait josh the list you posted said 39 gallon gray how much gray does it have?
This checks a lot of boxes for me - currently have the Jayfeather x23B hybrid which we absolutely love, but soon will need to upgrade so that I don't have to crawl over hubby to get into my side of the bed. Looking for a similar floor plan but with a full queen. Other than the floor vents and lack of medecine cabinet and fan, this seems to have everything. Is there an option for a reclining version of the sofa? 🤔 Thanks for the video Josh and will check out the others you mentioned with similar floor plans. 😊
I really wish I would have went with this one as my "all girls weekend warrior" instead of the Wildwood FSX. I would like it alittle better if it had the fan in the bathroom and also it the booth seat had a door access or a small drawer but neither would be a deal breaker for me.
OK, just got through watching the video on the 261. I actually like the 261 better. It just looks cleaner with some more angles. But truly, either one would be good. I just like the way the 261 is set up.
I could think of a multitude of answers but the one that is probably the most accurate is this: "Because they don't have to" I don't like that answer, but the fact is they generally don't lose sales because they didn't include ladders. If a dealer is going to lose a sale, then we can always get a ladder from the parts store Again.. I dislike everything I just said but I'm pretty sure that's the best answer to your question
@@JoshtheRVNerd the manufacturers need to design some sort of built in step system or something. I have owned numerous travel trailers and RVs with bunks and have just never understood why no one has ever thought to do that. What's the point of have a bunk with no way to access it?
This definitely has potential👍but no seating “options” for the outdated diner booth dinette, no TV, no ladder, no solar, and a bathroom with a cheap plastic toilet, a shower curtain, and “NO” Dollar Store 4” fart fan is as entry level as it gets🫤
Nice looking rig. Thanks for the walkthrough Uncle Josh 👍
You bet. I like how they did the bunks too

That really is the key on this one - the windows and TV setup. TY for watching :)

Wish they included an angled medicine cabinet and fan in the bathroom

Yeah I get WHY they made this one but I'm not convinced it is their best layout

Love the feedback. TY so much Jessica

Yeah it's a solid base package with the ability to get "churched up" pretty nicely
Great plan for a young family and much more spacious than our previous 264BH 👍
Yeah basically like a 264 with open space
I'd prefer the storage to be slide out on the dinnette. Not having a medicine cabinet isn't criminal but the fan…
Bunks need windows, curtains, outlet and/or USB ports IMO.
👍🏻
Those are all _super_ reasonable asks I think
Overall a great unit , a couple littles changes as you have mentioned would put this on the top of my list .
ty!

Are the countertops the sealed TFL you've talked about before? They look upgraded vs. what Jayco was doing last year.
Visually they're looking better but as I recall these are not sealed. I see a lot of campers and usually check that as I'm live in person because I cant remember them all

Looking forward to the 22MLS Wayfinder video, I’m sure it’s gonna be cooking with gas!
They keep selling as soon as they arrive.. apparently we have them priced pretty aggressively lol
THREE times I've missed a chance to record one
Professor Nerd I have a question? 🙋 I couldn’t find the 261 for our homework assignment to compare and get back with you on. Where is the link?
My 2025 video for the 261 is coming
But here's the 2024 ruclips.net/video/T4_WKm9Xdnc/видео.html
Hey.....this isn't so bad. Pretty neat❤❤❤❤
I'll take it! :)

Just checked jayco's site. 39gal grey. Sorry if I mucked something up on screen
@ no problem

Offhand I cannot recall what seat swaptions might be available but.. I *think* so?
Our local team members at the stores can verify for you!
@JoshtheRVNerd I am in Canada so you need to open a Bish's here in Ontario! 😊
That would be cool!
I really wish I would have went with this one as my "all girls weekend warrior" instead of the Wildwood FSX. I would like it alittle better if it had the fan in the bathroom and also it the booth seat had a door access or a small drawer but neither would be a deal breaker for me.
Both of those little preferences could be tweaked into this fairly easily as a DIY owner item or quick shop work
Posting here because it's your latest video. Wondering if you'll have a video of the Brinkley Z 3300 soon.
I will! In fact.. I'll have it out TODAY - thursday the 21st at Noon EST!

It's crazy how they're the same size but the 261 FEELS so much larger
Great for a family. #NerdHerd
Yessir
Just saw your Funderwear. 😂
lol :)
Why don't RV manufacturer's ever provide a ladder or steps to access the top bunk?

Anyone seriously considering buying an RV these days must be insane! That or a RUclipsr seeking content.
