Verse 8 to me is a humble reminder about the seriousness of sin. Its not that we are disobidient to man but sin offends and displeases (and some translations say "reject") God Himself who has graciously put His love, His word and His Spirit within us
Also as you spoke about the unseen... I must remind myself the same things. Though I cannot see heaven, I believe in the Scriptures which speak of it and therefore I have hope. Likewise I cannot see hell but know of its existence because of the Scriptures and this SHOULD cause me to pray for unbelievers and tell others about God
