Tommy may have to consider doing CK like he did Tiny Desk to avoid getting in trouble, so many have had to cut the video up to get it through, and it spoils the flow. The Late Late Show is very protective. The first one is the one to look for, second one is very short. Of course I have to mention SOTT on Graham Norton.

Yes, HS1 era. ESNY...cries, but in a cool way. The song is about his stepfather Robin who died shortly after Harry released his album. He was sick and knew he would pass away. When Harry released his first single 'Sign of the Times' (before the album was out) he went on SNL and performed SOTT for the first time ever, on live tv. It was the first time SNL went live from coast to coast. We hadn't heard anything from him since 1D went on hiatus. He then performed ESNY, we knew nothing about the song. It was also the first time ever that we have seen Harry play a guitar while performing, it was amazing. He hadn't performed live in years. The video was taken off SNL. Here is a bad copy of it but you can at least see it. ruclips.net/video/3Jx3wWiFUfw/видео.html Then here is him performing it a little bit later live on TV ruclips.net/video/ECR6F7Xj9x4/видео.html I can't wait for you to hear 'Fine Line'!

Harry was disappointed with his performance on SNL, he does get very nervous and it was a huge thing for him to come back to. Many who didn't know the song loved it though. His second performance, back in his home land on Graham Norton is the bench mark. Looking at the views it has says it all.

The debut album of Harry was very underrated. Im so happy coz a professional musician like u appreciates all of harry's songs in this album. I feel like harry was vindicated. This is his style of music but not everybody likes this type of music, he is an old soul trapped in young man's body. He loves old music genre and most who lived in that era will love it too had they known this ia the kind of music he is offering in his 1st album. Being a graduate of a boy band, most music lovers did not give him a chance. They did not listen to his music. But now, people are discovering him especially that his 2nd album was a smash hit. And they are now listening to the 1st album. Thank God, this album is now getting the recognitiom it rightfully deserves. Though i love fine line album because it also is kind of different from the usual pop genre coz it's more of pop psychedelic rock, i love this 1st album so much. It really becomes him and his style of music, this man reslly is a chaneleon, so talented, so interesting, so charismatic. Thank u for walking us through this album. I feel so satisfied becaus i know there is nothing wrong with me appreciating tbis music because it's really good! U are so good too, very honest, very entertaining and very informative. Im learning so much from u too. Nice reaction! Well done 💖💖💖

When you react to Fine Line, it has a definite story arc. The vinyl has 2 records and each part is on its own side: Pt A Golden thru lights up/ Pt B Cherry thru She / Pt C sunflower thru TPWK/ Pt D Fine Line. Other YT Reactions complained they couldn’t find rhyme or reason about the sequence of the tracks, but it’s like a 4 part play, with Harry evolving over time.

I sing along on the high notes in ESNY, too! Harmonizing on this song is amazing. I gotta try and sing all of them every friggin’ time I listen to this song. This and Sweet Creature are my favourites from this album, as I probably mentioned before. So, no need to be sorry for re-listening it - we don’t mind listening to it over and over again.
It’s cool how you concentrate on mix and stuff like that, but I recommend on later listenings also pay attention to the lyrics. They are at least half of his songs, and even if they sound simple there are layers. I personally keep finding new details, especially when I get to know his character more. After getting these subtle notes on the lyrics, the songs actually hit even harder. This guy is not only great musician but a poet. There are no empty lines in his songs. (..and right after I wrote this you noted the lyrics on “From the dining table”. Which is, he said, the most personal song he has written.)
Loved the summary. I’m so glad you decided to do this. I promise, you will love the Fine Line. It is different, but by now you must have learned to trust us - and Harry, of course: he simply cannot write a bad song. By all means, drop some bonus episodes before diving into the next album. And by that I mean The carpool karaoke with James Corden :D

starburst that is Harry Styles. Your knowledge of the technical side of music is admirable but your love
for Harry is very much appreciated. "From The Dining Table" has always been a favorite for me, the
breathless delivery of Harry's voice coupled with the quiet ebb and flow of the instruments culminating
in the crescendo of the orchestra and choir which falls away to the silent pain in Harry's voice breaks
something in me. Thank you for exploring Harry's music. Fine Line is amazing in a totally different way

A nice little titbit is that Harry does most of his backup vocals and he uses different accents in them. He talked about it in an interview recently. The process of writing Woman isn't in Behind the Album unfortunately, but another nice trivia thing is that the sound you hear is Harry's voice modified. His stepdad (who passed away a month after the album came out, Harry wrote Ever Since New York about finding out he had cancer) said it sounded like a duck, and now everyone jokes about it. They throw him rubber ducks on stage and he makes them do the sound lol.
DId anyone tell you that the beginning of Only Angel is a line of the movie Barfly? Which is inspired by a Bukowski novel. Harry really likes his books. Woman also has a line of one of his poems ("this thing upon me howls like a beast, you flower you feast" is reworked from the poem Old Man Dead In a Room). The tracklisting in Harry's albums is very purposeful. There's a reason FTDT and MMITH are the bookends.

I think I've been referring to it as 'The Pink Album' since the cover reveal and accompanying album photoshoot images.
It just felt immediately that it deserved that sort of nostalgic and unique reverence. Plus the lack of text on the cover led us there.
Incidentally your "hanging out listening""reactions" have been my favourite of any. >3 years later and its bringing me back to my first listens which is such a rare feeling with media one loves.
Definitely check out the performances of SOTT and Ever Since New York on SNL. His first solo performances! and imo the best rendering of ESNY to date. I recommend seeing them before Graham Norton for the full impact of all performances👌

I couldn't wait for you to do this part, because "woman", this is my favorite song and the one i fell for his music, i mean the vocals, the music, he left space for a guitar solo, there's no music like that anymore. This song makes me always go back to the very firsts time i listened it.
Can't wait for fine line reaction!

I really loved this video and have really enjoyed your reactions to Harry so far. Glad to see you like him as much as we do.
I do have som suggestions that I would like you to react to before you start with the Fine Line album.
Sign of the Times at the Graham Norton show - a must. It’s one of the best performances of the song and I feel like it’s really emotional. Link: ruclips.net/video/Y8R-zl7SDUU/видео.html
Carpool karaoke - love this video. You both get to hear him sing and to see some more of his personality. This is based on the first album so I suggest you react to this before the Fine Line album. Make sure to pause it a lot tho, this video tends to get copyrighted. Link: ruclips.net/video/JvLLx0cpJVI/видео.html
Ever Since New York on SNL - also a must. I feel like the studio version honestly doesn’t give the song justice, compared to this live version. This song definitely shows its potential in this live performance. Link: ruclips.net/video/3Jx3wWiFUfw/видео.html
Thank you for all these great reactions, looking forward to your next one!

Watching the intro now after being on the live stream was all kinds of Matrix 4th dimension realness 😅 And no you didn't look like an old man when you ended it.
And when it comes to FTDT that song is just sad. It's painful on so many levels but I think the most painful part is when it builds in that crescendo... his vocal and the music gives you this little promise of hope only for it to be snatched away in the next breath and that for me is why it's my favourite track on the album.
Can't wait for your Fine Line reactions. The way you give us insider knowledge on mixing, pointing out sounds and the way it's put together give me a whole new appreciation for the music and all around your videos are great. See you in the next ✌❤

I was singing along right with you during ESNY. LOVED that you played it twice. I love every single song on this album but Woman is probably my favorite. FTDT omg ❤... beautiful song... that line 'even the phone misses your call, by the way' gets me everytime. gives me all the feels.
    super album.
looking forward to future videos from you. Harry or others.
hope you are having an amazing day.

For his concerts you are correct. He opens with only angel and ends with kiwi. He had a second stage where he did 1d if i could fly, sweet creature and i believe from the dining room table with just him and sometimes mitch playing acoustic.
Fine line has a lot more break up songs. He said the best times and the worst times he's ever had. He goes through the whole relationship of all encompassing infatuation, lust, love, cheating, breakup, depression, bitterness when they've moved on, acceptance, peace. And a bigger mix of different styles. More 70s folk. It's such a wonderful ride. Can't wait to watch it!

Ever Since New York is one of my favorite songs form this album, I do prefer the live version he did for SNL better 🤩👌🏼I’m sorry I could only find this link ruclips.net/video/4mtJpPzkSv4/видео.html minute 2:25 gave me chills. He does an even bigger high note in the “ohh tell me something I don’t already know” than in this studio version and for that high note alone is why I prefer the live version. Pleaseee watch i think you’ll love it even more, I think you’ll find that harmony you were looking for.

Ever since I first heard From the Dining Table, I wished someone would go into detail about the vocal track and how it was used and mixed. It sounded to my untrained ear like two tracks that sounded a lot a like and then they broke apart and started harmonizing with each other. THANK YOU for shedding light on this track! Learning about the technical aspect of it has informed my ideas on how the vocal work reinforces the lyrical meaning of the song.

HS1 to most of us. And please PLEASE watch his SNL performance of Ever Since NY. He goes where you expect him to go on the chorus (upper register) and acapella: ruclips.net/video/4mtJpPzkSv4/видео.html It’s funny because what you pick up as suggested nuances are actually often things he does live. You’re sharing a brain with H! From the Dining Table is by absolute favorite of his out of all recordings. “Even my phone misses your call, by the way” is, for me, one of the best lyrics ever.
