This is such a classic. Another underrated one that isn’t covered by anybody is Red Cap Assault, which is another song that has such a fucking groovy progression like this, where it kind of bounces around while going up and down scales.
The most clean intro of this theme for sure, and I'm glad I found this!!! I really like the intro of this theme, but every cover put a lot of distortion and that is not cool, in my opinion. Thank you very much, Fer. You really nailed it with this cover!!!!

And I fought Gilgamesh recently in FFXIV, This is fire and works so well I would be so keen to hear Decisive Battle (FFVI) FFXIV Version of it is amazing, I'd like to hear a metal of that
Saw someone complain sayin that ferdk plays this jam too slowly. I'm sure he could play it faster, he is amazing after all but I just don't think that's what ferdk was going for in this version. That being said, if this is too slow for ya then crank up the vid speed to 1.25 or 1.50 haha. Freakin badass! Even though Ferdk looks like he snorted some crack hahahaha

I've just thought, ff5 needs a remake... and we should be able to stop gilgamesh from using self destruct and ask him if he wants to be friends, like that cutscene in 6 wh biggs and wedge discussing the whelk creature, or the other mid battle cutscenes in 6, and have a visual scene of the excalipoor glow a bright blue with a shatter sound... as if to represent him turning full on warrior of balance meant to aid the player as a means to give him the respect he deserved at the end of the game, at which point he fades a exdeath tries to stop the excalibur from reaching the party, but gilgamesh resigned to his fate holds the force back from taking it saying "I may not be able to fight with you again one day, but think of this as the closest thing... friend" before gilgamesh starts crying knowing he finally conquered who destroyed his planet and took him captive in the void, destroying his psyche... knowing he might never see his family or friends again but is glad he got his wish... only for bartz and Co to leap in and face the true final boss with gilgamesh
No offense man, I like most of your pieces but this is way too slow for this particular piece. It's supposed to be a high intense fight theme and it's like the complete opposite for me
Hey it's all good! Though this is the same tempo as the original, maybe it's something else that isn't quite doing it for ya which is fair 👍 Perhaps the mix is not too intense for what you were looking for, I tend to mix a lil' softer than most metal music haha
