Manipur Cabinet: Unrecognised villages will not be eligible for Govt schemes

On Thursday, the Manipur Cabinet decided that residents of unrecognised villages will no longer be eligible for government schemes such as MGNREGS. This follows Chief Minister N Biren Singh's revelation that several officials had unofficially recognised hill villages to benefit their communities, without the state government's approval.
