@@ShowandTellVideo thank you!! Where does that go? How does that work?
Please, what's plumbers putty, and when/where do I use it?
I have all the other parts and I really wanna try to do this myself. Local handyman and other companies I contacted for an estimate said they charge a MINIMUM of $200 !!!!
I did it!!! It took me about an hour, although it felt much longer. Tears of frustration and a bit of cussing. My hardest parts were getting rhe faucet loose from the sink and getting the old supply lines off the faucet. Vice grips, small slip joint pliers, and some wd40. Go me!!! I'm almost 65, living in an old house trailer. Cold water in the kitchen is the first of many projects. Thank you so much!!
Great job!
You go girl!!!!😊
😊
You go, girl!!
I am going to do it myself as well! Wish me luck!😊
That "go back to the hardware store because you didn't measure" got me right in guts! 🤣
My signature move
Heck that's me I never make one trip
Same, just had to do just that
This is how I knew this was the most truthful DYI video on the subject
Yep, it wouldn’t be a real DIY project unless I have to go to Home Depot at least three times.
I’m 16 and my dad wasn’t home so I needed to get it done and didn’t know how, watched this vid at school and came home and did it. Thank you.
Amazing! As a dad of teens, I am very proud of you!!
@@ShowandTellVideo thank you
you did a great job explaining this. I am a 64 yo single woman, and I am getting ready to attempt this by myself. Your video is encouraging that I can do this. Fingers crossed and a few prayers 😊
You can do it!
@showandtellvideo I did it and it works Yay, and Thank you
This was much more simpler than the home depot video. Thank you!
I just watched that video too 🤣...Way More Complicated Than It Had To Be 🤦🏿♂️
@@bobbyteah4596❤
Bro, I was so pissed trying to install this thing. Your chill ass video calmed me down. Thanks!
I just changed my very first faucet using this tutorial.. I'm so proud of myself 😁 I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you.
Excellent! I’m proud of you too! :)
I need to do the same thing. Did you have assistance? I don’t have long arms.
❤❤❤ I am a widow and a senior person. God bless you for straight forward instructions!
Glad it helped!!
My condolences
I am to, I feel ya! I spend lots of time watching DIY videos for everything now. This one was good.
Loved the humor and real world implications. Thanks for making this short yet detailed focused on the subject.
Thank you! I was quoted nearly $400 for a company to replace my faucet, not including the price of the new faucet. I was able to do it on my own with your help!
Glad you were able to save yourself some money!
Step 1: start early in the morning. Step 2-9:make frequent visits to the hardware store before they close. step10: go to bed early to continue tomorrow.
😂😂😂
😅😂😅😂
This is a 30 mins job if you got the right tools and hardware but this is the process my dad been doing since day one 😂😂😂
100%. If you're not a professional and already have everything you need, there is no way you can do this in the time allotted
i think you have the only video on youtube with no negative comments! congrats bro! it was a great video simple to the point and with just the right amount of humor .
Thanks, John!!
This video gave me the guts to feel confident about replacing my broken faucet. I even used the vice grip pliers. It was so rusted I had to remove the entire sink to get the grip and room to actually remove it. But your video is so unbelievably helpful especially reminding to measure the connector lines. Thank you so so very much!
And 5 years later this vid still kicks ass thxs dude. Just had my sink broken this morning and 45 mins later fixed it.
Thanks! Glad you got it fixed in record time! Apparently, you didn’t have to make an extra trip to the hardware store.
@@ShowandTellVideo nope, my sister was relieved that we didn't have to call a plumber.
This video helped me so much. Getting the supply lines off the old faucet was a pain because of some rust build up. WD-40, a rag, and a hammer to loosen up some of the rust helped a lot!
Anyway, this video was great and charming. Thank you!
Glad it helped! WD-40 is a lifesaver!
You made me laugh a couple of times when you were honest about measuring etc., lol Thank you for keeping it real!
Great video! Lovin' your honesty and imperfection since I thought I was the ONLY person who had to go back to the hardware store more than twice!
Thank you for this most helpful upload!
Thank you so much for this video! I didn’t have anyone to call to fix my faucet and local plumbers were booked out so I decided to tackle it myself. I followed your video step by step and did it!! So again, thank you!!
Sorry for being a stickler, but around the 2:43 minute mark, you can see that they put the Pipe Thread sealer tape (white material on the thread) in the wrong direction. You can tell, because as he is tightening, you can see the white tape coming off. Sure, it will not matter that much as these don't carry much pressure, but with higher pressure you will get a leak.
Love your straight to the point video and sense of humor. Thank you for not taking an hour to explain. Great work. 😁
This was the best DIY video I have seen to date! Very easy to follow, short and to the point, expressed the importance of “measure twice cut once,” and somehow managed to get really clean easy to see shots beneath the sink! Wow! Many thanks!
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial! Upon starting a project, I usually discover that I'm missing an essential tool or piece for the job and it's off to the store I go. Never fails lol!
Lol! Me too!
Ok. Wish me luck. I’m a 72-year-old little lady and I can and will replace the faucet myself. Boy is it tight under here! Good time to clean under this sink. Don’t even know what half these chemicals are. Lol. Well, here goes.
This by far the best how to video I have ever watched.. Had me laughing throughout the whole thing.
Straight to the point, simple enough for a novice like me to understand, good video quality, and funny to boot! Thanks so much!!
Thank you for this tutorial, finished this In about an hour, no 2nd trip necessary❤
Great job!
Great video, far FAR better than the overly complicated Home Depot video. Thank you for making this video, just made my Saturday a lot easier.
Super helpful! Made it so easy a stay-at-home-mom with no plumbing experience did this in less than an hour with no issues. Thanks!
actually, you know what?
ill go ahead a leave a comment about my experience after watching this video.
i couldve watched any other video about faucet replacements, but this is the one i found.
so guess what? youll be getting the majority of the credit for my successful replacement of my faucet.
i had some doubts going into it, because there are no instructions on how to REMOVE the damn thing.
After watching your video about faucet removal, i hopped right into knowing i have the necessary length supply lines.
THANKS!!
Thank you so much for your video! It encouraged me to go ahead and try to replace mine on my own after people giving me bad quotes or flunking out when it came time to do the job. It was relatively easy with the hardest parts simply screwing things off but a faucet wrench made it better once I got the hang of how to use it. Again thank you so much I feel really accomplished!
That's awesome! I'm so glad you took the plunge and it was a success.
Great Tutorial! This would have been so much easier if the people that installed our original faucet didn't tighten the bolt so tight to the faucet bracket. It took us 3 hours to get that thing unscrewed and we had to go buy a better tool to get it off, but finally came off and of course we ended up having to go buy new hose/lines, because ours were also too short, wish I saw this video before I bought the faucet...LOL..all good now and got my new faucet installed and very pleased. Thanks for an easy video!
Thanks! Yeah, I had the same issue. Glad you got past the hard part! :)
straight to the point, the best video for this project on RUclips
From the time you slowly opened the box like a "big reveal" , I knew I would enjoy this video 😀
Thanks! :)
Thank you for this!! Struggling to do some things on my own, without family around. This made it nice and easy.
Glad it was helpful!
I have to replace my mom's sink faucet as I am trying to save her money. Watching your video, I just ordered the tools I'll need from Lowes plus the extra Supply lines just in case, so I can tackle the job tomorrow without having to stop and go back to the hardware store. I'll have everything I need to do the job. Thanks for your video!!!
Thanks so much! We did our first faucet replacement! Now I'm back again because i have to take it out and put in sealant. Ugh. Glad it's here!
THIS is how you do a tutorial! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thanks! :)
@Ascended Fitness np
I’m in the first 30 seconds and I already appreciate the conciseness
I wasn't expecting a laugh AND great instructions, but here we are. Thank you for this!!!
One of the best, and funniest, how-o videos I've seen!
Awesome tutorial, easy to follow, and the number of steps had me laughing so much. 😂😂😂👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻.
GG i liked the commentary. It was short but funny. 🤣
it also helped me a lot to tackle replacing our faucet.
Thank you! ANd OMG had me laughing at Step #14 when you talked about upgrading supply line because you didn't measure!!! I'm lmao thanks for making my day!
Had to replace a cheap faucet that leaked in the house I just purchased. Bought a Moen, and with this great video took me 45 minutes to remove the old faucet and install the new one. Thank you for providing this easy to follow instructional video. 👍👍👍
Thank you for this video! I just replaced my faucet today with the help of this video.
Glad it helped!
Your video has helped yet another clueless couple fix their leaky focet! Thank you!!!!!!!
Short and sweet with all the essentials. Thank you!!
Great! :)
Thanks so much! Before faucet looked exactly the same with the black duct tape covering the hole, down to the single handle, the after is moen Banbury double handled faucet. Easy instructions and fast install.
Congrats!! :)
About to change mine out. This put me at ease dude, thank you!
No problem 👍
This video was a life saver! I qas so proud of myself! Couldn't have done it without this awesome, simple and to the point viedo! Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video tutorial... I was able to use it to help me replace mine. I got lucky and had the exact same replacement faucet you have. I SUCK at being a handyman of any kind so I depend on RUclips for help.... thanks a bunch!
No problem! You and me both! lol! That’s the first and only faucet I have ever replaced, so..yeah, anyone can do it. Glad the video helped!
Thank you so much for this step by step video. I was able to change my kitchen faucet all by myself (with your help lol)! Awesome!
"Step sixteeeeeen" 😂😂😂
I’m still waiting for Step “Seventeeeeeeen”
My thoughts exactly! 😅🤣 Great informative video nonetheless!
Step oneeeeeeee
This was very helpful in replacing my faucet. Thank you very much for posting this!
Fantastic guide! Lead me straight through the process, and had my new faucet running in under an hour. Thanks!!
the editing in this is beautiful 😂
Thanks! :)
Thank you for the information. Very good video thank you.
Thanks this gave me the confidence needed to get this done at my house. Simpler and faster than i was expecting
Very glad to hear! :)
A basin wrench is great tool to have for the "long reaches". It works at any angle and makes it a breeze. Will set you back about $12.
Thinking about following your instructions to replace my kitchen faucet. Am I able to skip step 14?
you need to get an agent and do these commercial narrations for home depot, lowe's, and any other hardware store. i love this video thank you :)
Simple and straght to the point. Thanks!
I didn't know that I should have bought the same faucet my service lines didn't add up but you saved my ass thank you for your video
No problem, Reggie! Glad it worked out!
Question: do I need chalk around the base of the faucet?
I just replaced our kitchen faucet. I planned on one hour or so. . . well, three hours latter and a trip to the hardware store to buy new lines and I was done. The hardest thing was trying to loosen the old plastic water rings with a plumbers off set wrench. Boy was that hard! Most things take longer than originally planned.
I sure am glad that is done. This was a great video. I wished I would have watched it first. I did the replacement in the order that is shown here. The newer facets have a 6" copper drop down to make the replacement much easier.
I would strongly suggest a plumbers offset wench before you start your project. Good luck. You pretty much need to be a human contortionist to perform this on a older appliance.
Just picked up a replacement faucet that looks just like the one you installed here. As soon as I opened the box I questioned why a plumber wanted $275 to install it. Thank you
Thanks man this video was simple and straight forward
Awesome video thanks for sharing! I’m going to attempt to change my kitchen sink out soon, this is definitely going to help out. I bought a basin wrench, I also have vice grips but I know I’m going to make at least one trip to the hardware store!
Iam terriable on instructions but watching you in how to do it was so simple and pretty relaxing I got this never before have I replace an facuet before I was going to get an plumber which will over price because you don't no no better but thank to you I can do it my self yea
Okie doke. About to proceed without those adapter/connector things you had to go to hardware store for twice. 🙃😅 Wish me luck
Will check in hopefully soon.
10:04 found screw driver and wrench. Put on gloves and face mask I just happened to have hanging around to clear out and clean under sink. Had used dichotomous earth about a year ago to clear up a bug problem. Didn't want to breathe anything in. 10:19 gave up on turning hot water faucet off--turned off water to the house. 10:32 got flashlight. struggled with the black things screwed in the bottom on all three attachments, faucet hot and cold water. 10:54 called landlord to ask for a plumber. I do not have the strength to get those bottom black things off. Had hand surgery left had back beginning of December. Thought my right hand could still do it. ----Thought it was going pretty good up til then.
I laughed so hard when you said helpful tools has some type of cup with a lid 😂😂 that cup is plumbers putty I think or that's what I read it as
Correct! That "cup with a lid" is the plumbers putty that he never used... Yes, he may get water from his faucet, but it wasn't installed properly. Eventually, he will get moisture buildup under the faucet just like his old one had. You can tell by the corrosion. He must have installed the old one, too. Also, he used teflon tape on the threads of a compression fitting. Yep...the internet is full of self-proclaimed experts teaching people the wrong way to do things.
I was looking for this comment! When I first saw my box I was like wth is that!? It would be nice if they labeled it. I just so happened to watch an episode of this old house and they used some and was like o ok let me go get some 🤦🏾♀️. I would have never known bc they don't label it in the box or instructions.
Wow!!! So helpful!! Exactly what I needed
Glad it was helpful!
I have a sprayer hose and the faucet with one handle that works both hot and cold. Is there anything special to do that one? Also I was a pull down sprayer. Would that be possible?
excellent video not without humor ! you got me buying the Caldwell as well.
Well after much cussing yelling and groaning I did it. Thank you for showing me this, I was having trouble getting it out and couldn't figure out what I did wrong
You're welcome! 😊 Glad it helped!
"turn off both the hot and cold, if you dont you will soon find out why 🤣🤣🤣(defiantly pictured myself forgetting to turn the water off 🤣🤣🤣)
You where right down to the "I bought wrong length of hose" like lol
Lol! Yep. I could have left that out, but I’m trying to keep it real to show that even an amateur could complete the job.
I really did have to go back and get the right size cus it was shorter piping
Show and Tell this happens alot with many projects. Kudos for keeping it real, that what most of us here are looking for 👍😊
@@ShowandTellVideo and it really helped!
I like this tutorial video, clear and short. Good job.
this seems so simple to do thank you for sharing even though it's 2023
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks. This was extremely helpful
Glad it helped!
Thank you. Very easy to follow and not long & drawn out. Also, I love that you used 1 tool. I'm so doing this in about 10 min. 👍
And I'm done. Success. 1st ever faucet install. 1 tool. Thanks again
My friend's mobile home had a 3 hole kitchen faucet. I borrowed a plumbers flip sliding wrench. Didn't have much luck. I had to go home and get my 1⅛" Mac crowsfoot. It'll fit most faucet nuts & toilet supply lines. Perfect fit for the older hex nuts. It'll catch the newer 4 wing plastic nuts. It won't fit the ones under the faucet base. (The top nuts) I had to use pump plyers. My new faucet said to use a silicone or latex based sealant when installing on the new threads. Pipe dope or plumbers putty will ruin the plastic. That's a first. Teflon tape will only work if you can get a super thin layer. It can split the nuts if you put too much. Silicone it is. You need to let it sit a few hours before turning the water on. Check for drips. I was good.
Pretty sure this is the exact same model (and definitely the same problem) I have right now! Perfect video
Simple straight to the point few jabs but you was right lol
oh a real note, thank you so much for this video. Woke up, went to fill my coffee maker, realized my cold tap broke, spun freely..... i just want a coffee....
Love the 90's vibe😍
Thank you for posting this helpful video
Hell Yeah! I just attempted this and was successful thanks to your vid! Thanks man!!
Awesome!! :)
What do you do if you’d have to be an 8 foot tall rubber man to reach the nuts on the underside of sink and behind disposal?
Thank you so much for this video, it's was very helpful and had me laughing 😂 👍🏽
This is great. I was looking on getting this same one except in their stainless version
Mine sprung a leak at the same spot, contacted Moen, they sent me a new spout free of charge and the faucet is now like new. 👍
''if you don't you will soon found out why'' god thank u for the laughs
Lol, go back to the hardware store for longer hose, lmao!!!
Great video.. Thank you
About to tackle this today, looks easy enough.
I work on cars so I would hope I can handle this.
Go for it! Cars and faucets are exactly the same!
@@ShowandTellVideo did it, loving the new faucet.
Be sure to have some plumbers tape handy to put on the threads.
I like the way you say the steps lol step fiiiiiiive. I really don't wanna change this faucet.
You never went over what the cup with the lid was for 😂
No easy, hard only!!!!!with right info.!!!!
