Since then, there's been Peppie, Coco, Scout, Oscar (a rescue), and now, Skippy (11 months old). We are retired now, but that just means more time to love them, and I hope we haven't had our last!
If you are old and alone...ensuring your dog's well being if you are hospitalized or pass is a huge worry. My dog' s care and rehoming is agreed upon, stipulated and supported financially in my will.

In Britain, during the world wars, dachshunds were declared the enemies' dogs (Germans) and suffered a genocide both times. I'm afraid it is very possible to not love them.
Dachshunds are so beautiful and intelligent and learn quickly and love to be praised and appreciated and getting treats when they have accomplished what you asked them to do. Treat them with kindness and respect always and you will have a friend forever. Dachshunds leave paw prints on your heart

I was not familiar with daschunds.i worked with a woman who had 6.she loved them so much.since then i have had 5.love them.my Lucy is older and i pray she lives very long and healthy.i rescued a puppy who i think is a chiweenie.what a treasure.I thank God for my dogs.

I had one it was a boy named Oscar he got iill and was put down on Feb 1 of this year he was almost 15 years old I miss him so he was black and tan such a heart break I have his ashes . He was my first and still till this day I cry for him he lost his ability to walk he had dents on both sides of his head it's common in dachshund . He was losing muscle anyways so sweet and cute love your puppy always love on them and spoil them cause they will be gone before you know it I don't think I could go thru it again to much heart break I raised him from 4 months and it was so so sad but nice video enjoy every moment 😊😊😊😢😢
When you take Bailey to have his teeth cleaned you might want to ask the vet about giving him hard chews. My late Rosie had a slab fracture and I was told that they are common. I stopped giving her bones and hoofs. Doxies are really sweet, I've had both smooth coats and long hairs. I think the long hairs are the sweetest and most tractable. Of course maybe my smooth coat was just stubborn. 😊😊😊😊

He was very itchy after his grooming, & his groomer should know. Brushing him with the proper brush would have helped him to feel better , then a rinse in oatmeal water. Poor baby.
