Bells of Worcester Cathedral

- Had the chance to ring on this gorgeous, though tough ring of bells while in Worcester. They sound great inside as the tenor roars through the rest of the ring, but upstairs in the belfry with ear defenders all the hums, tones and resonance blends to form this amazing sound.
The sight and power of the bells turning, the physical tower movement and the frame movement all adds to the brilliant experience.
Ringing featured is Avon, Zanussi and Bristol spliced Maximus, rounds and the first few changes of 3 leads of Kent, followed by a touch of Stedman Cinques from the belfry.
One of the best places to hear Worcester Cathedral’s bells is my bathroom. I live in Worcester, St Johns, not too far away from the Cathedral. On a Sunday morning I can hear Worcester Cathedral’s bells, St Johns Church bells and the toll of the single bell at St Clements Church.
Those bells sound lovely. I wish I could ring there

These bells are in B Major and they sound amazing
Lovely recording.
I love these bells.Know what you mean about the tenor, its the same thing at York.
Stand just above it you can feel the accoustic shock waves as well as hear them.
When you went down close to the bells it sounded like the 5th and 6th that I,could hear clearly.
Certainly the higher pitched bell sounded like an octave above the tenor, hence the 5th..
Wonderful bells .

@Ivan Steel B and B0 are the same thing. Its different ways of putting it.
I live over the road from it. Driving me nuts
Don't move near the cathedral then. The bells where there before you
Ringer Fred 🙄
My local band have problems with neighbors who live next to the church and we only have a peal of 6 and we rarely ring much. They complain thought for no reason!!!
@@fredmills368in the uk they love to complain about every little thing,, but interestingly when i was staying in Dublin the hostal was just across the road from the cathedrsl, christ church cathedrsl and the American receptionist coplained about the bells driving him nuts, that cathedrsl gas the most bells in the world for change ringing 19 in sll although 12 are usually rung at one time otherwise they would be out of kilter!!
