As a USA umpire, I want to give credit to the home plate ump for getting in the slot on both sides of the plate. It's WAY too common in slow pitch umpiring for umpires to just stand directly behind home plate or only be in the slot on a right-handed batter.
@@sw48 yeah and he doesn’t believe that sometimes that he’s top 3 or top 2 best hitters in Canada but I tell him all the time you won athlete of the year last year for softball Canada everyone wants to go up to him and ask him for hitting tips and fielding advice, they tell me all the time, and I told him go for it but there just a little nerves because they don’t know him that well and I just tell them he’s just like me my brothers and I are always there to help other players at anything

Lots of outs per USA rules not being called. You can't hit the ball with a foot outside of the box like you can in USSSA. Directly from the 2023 Rulebook: "ILLEGALLY BATTED BALL: Occurs when the batter hits the ball fair or foul and: A. At the time the bat makes contact with the ball, the entire foot is completely outside the lines of the batter’s box and on the ground"
If they’re gonna do that then why don’t they have the catcher wearing full gear and all the infielders wearing the mask the pitcher wears and leg guards.

Helmets should be required honestly. Over the years we've all seen multiple people take a ball to the dome when running the bases. Pushes to third base with the ball coming from behind are when a helmet is nice.

Yes in fastpitch your goal is to make contact first. In slowpitch contact is guaranteed. Two completely different games which I am not sure why you are comparing them?

Down 9-0 second inning . They went 1-2-3 with all 3 hitters flying out on first pitches. This is pathetic and I don’t care what country you’re from. Just pathetic knowledge of the game. Team. Canada! Set a tone on offense. Take a pitch. Hit as if you have a plan. Not just swing. Nobody tried backdoor until the game was over! Yikes!! Is it the helmets? Even on the deep flyouts to center its still impressive to hit a 52 ball 360 feet. Those fields are HUGE playing with a 52-300.
Not with a Monsta bat. I agree hitting a 52 far is impressive but only with a non Monsta bat. Those bats are flat out ridiculous.

Teams are picked back in February but yes many different players could have been picked.
