@Bobby Axelrod for things that need penetrating oil, WD-40 is utter garbage, and Aerokroil is amazing. Try one 10oz can from amazon for $20. Don't go the rest if your life without this experience. If $20 is too rich for you, at least try PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench, to get some idea of what you're missing with purpose made penetrating lubes.
At what point in time does it become necessary to purchase the Hi Lift "rebuild kit" for your jacker-upper? Just curious. I learned my lesson the hard way. I had to call my doctor cuz it wouldn't go down after 4 hours.
Great deal holding the 25% off open. Hope you "sell a million of 'um" . The Fluid Film is NOT supposed to go on your brakes?!?!? damn, that may be the answer to the stopping problem I've been having lately
True , exposing your high-lift jack to rain and dust all the time will rust up the climbing pins if they are normal steel pins. People who put all their gear on display are asking to be nocked over the head and car jacked . Keep as much of your gear out of sight as possible . I have a full compliment of recovery gear including an electric winch and you can't see a single bit , not even a winch mounting point or power socket and the winch mounts at front in the M24 recovery thread and in back in the tow bar socket . You can't hide everything but I try to keep a low profile so they will rob the other guy in the 4x4 bristling with expensive gear on show .
They are about the only thing which is any use for lifting a small Ransomes crawler tractor which has walked out of its tracks. I had an old Ford Falcon high lift bumper jack which had a 400mm piece of bediron welded across the bottom to replace the metal base. A restorer was desperately after the Falcon jack so I ended up getting one of these highlift jacks. The little tractors don't look much but they weigh 1.25 tons with the tracks on.
this may be a dumb questions but do you daily drive that taco? if so do you take all your gear off.. i recently got a hi lift for my jeep and dont wanna daily it with the jack on there but those bolts that stick up from the mount look stupid
Get a real lubricant and save the WD (Water Displacing) -40 for removing adhesive labels and displacing moisture in your distributor. Tri-Flow Superior Lubricant will also help clean up the dust and dirt that WD-40 attracts.
So what exactly failed which did not allow the jack to be lowered? Did the pins not retract? Did the slider bind? Not much explanation and I am not sure your fix is a fix. Your preventative maintenance is a good idea, granted but a true explanation as to why such a simple mechanism would fail was not given.
Tacomaholic Day sale 25% discount in the Tacomaholic shop is still active!: tacomaholics.com/shop?olsPage=products 😀👍
Well 90% of hi lift jacks are just mounted for looks anyway. Soooooo 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️.
This is true.
If it moves and it's not supposed to Duck Tape. If it doesn't move and it's supposed to WD-40.
#wisdom 😎
Yeah, but for almost all of those things, gorilla tape and penetrating lube (like aerokroil) are better.

Your intros are quite possibly the worst, but I like your mods.
I'll take it.
They keep me coming back.
Agree
All of my stuff is attached to the walls of my bed under the cover. Ha

Hmm I haven't even seen the rebuild kit. How much do they cost?

Are u Chrisfix now? Soapy wooder 😂😂😂 all love bro love your Tacoma
Lol funny you mention that because when I was editing the vid and saw that part I thought I sounded just like him. 😀
Lol "that's what she said" bit
Hi lift says to splash water or mud juice on it in the field for a quick fix...you’re welcome...

The first rule of mechanics: Always lubricate before insertion.

I don’t have a rack so I leave my hi lift at home until I plan on off roading. Damn things are HEAVY!! I paid $12.00 for mine at a garage sale :)
Yeah they are pretty stout. Great find for your used one!
I would think you could skip the WD 40 step and just use the Fluid Film as it’s also a lubricant and disperses moister. Ya, no???
Probably, but the Fluid Film comes out thicker so I wanted to make sure to use the WD-40 first to really get to the inner parts.
Tacomaholic yes, it is a bit thicker. Good point..
Bunch of amateurs neglecting recovery gear..
Seems like alot of people just mount their hi-lifts and forget about them.
Tacomaholic Agree. Maintain your gear and prepare and you should be good for most situations..👍🇦🇺
Solid intro 🤣 old video but worth a follow 🤙🤙
Still looking for a first gen?
Of course!
I only put the Hi-lift on the Jeep when Im going off roading. Stays clean and dry in garage.
I started keeping mine inside as well. Better for the hi-lift .. and that's 50ish less pounds I'm lugging around on the street.
Holy shit. The fuck you wind part made me cackle like a witch. I would have been fine if that was the whole video XD
Lol the wind pushed me to the breaking point. 😀

I do daily my Tacoma. I leave everything on my racks except the hi-lift just because it's so heavy.

A good rule is to lubricate a HI Lift Jack before each use. It will work every time and last forever that way.
I don't think you used enough WD40.
No such thing as too much WD40.
Use the high lift correctly, and it will out last you. There's a reason they are the tool of choice for many, and have been for decades....
Can i jack my tacoma with that high jack from the hitch ?!
Yep I've seen that done before.

What rack do you have on the back of your truck?
Greetings Julian! It's an older version of the KB Voodoo bed rack.
Outstanding maintenance jack video sir!
Thanks Glenn!

You said Loob
Oh yeah yeah
Great tip. Just added one more thing to my Sat. todo list
Thanks buddy!
In the market for a high lift jack. Which one do you have & what are some high jacks you’d recommend checking out. Thanks.
I'm running this 60" hilift jack: amzn.to/2QI8Vqr All of my offroading friends run either this one or the 48".
Tacomaholic thank you for the quick response. Salute!!!
Pros & cons for the 48 vs 60 in?
@@bobchang8708 Only real difference is the extra travel you could get with the 60". Prices are pretty much the same too.
