I really think that you should have Tshirts printed up with that Life Changing Tip on it. Oh Lord. I may laugh all day about that one. Lipo suction on 40 count.. the drawer of no return...ahh the secrets, Good friends will live in the drawer together. On a serious note thank you for bringing the issue of mental health and suicide into the light. My work before retirement was 35 years as a psychologist for teens. I still after all these years can see the faces of those that could not imagine that "one more day". That being said you are exactly right give it one more day, call someone, reach out. The darkness can pass.
OMG, your Flosstube has become my absolute favorite. I wish I lived in Minnesota; I would travel to meet you! Your banter is so hilarious! Jane, your Life Changing Tip is soooo true! It has happened to me and, I am sure, to many others. Julie, thanks for your tip about using the "in" hole rather than the "out" hole of the needle. As a response to your ending, prayers to you all.
Thank you Jane for giving yourself another day … I’m so glad you did … I love you both and I am grateful for your videos … both of you just make my day … I have been watching you every single night before I go to bed … I love what you stitch and Julie is so creative with her finished projects … Until tomorrow night … ❤ … Dena
Just discovered your wonderful flosstube this weekend. I am SOOO glad I scrolled through your videos and came upon this one, because Jane’s life alternating discovery has been a game changer for me. ❤
Are you kidding?!?! Jane, I’m coming back especially to see the SB!!!! Lol, I LITERALLY herd cats every day! Watching the two of you interact is a joy. I haven’t lived near my best stitching day in 25 years, and I sure miss that.
This video was so “delightful”!! LOL. I loved all of the fun purchases and your excitement about getting them started. I love your videos and the fun friendship that the two of you have. Hugs and happy stitching………………
Jane - I LOVE Shepherds Bush patterns! I already have three, and I have to say that I can attribute my most recent three additional purchases to your enthusiasm for them! Thank you!
😂❤ soo funny ...love you both .. double finishes... self medicate with pie .. keep up the great work... I am binge watching your shows... scripts... list... ❤😂
So thrilled to have enabled you both to The Red Deer Sampler by GiGiR. I am loving stitching on this piece. Jane, thank you for the life changing tip. So gracious of you to share. Who knew how important that opening on one end of a needle could be! Always enjoy my time with you both. Sending love and good thoughts.
just found you two and am binge-ing. I almost peed my pants while laughing at the life changing tip (mostly bc I thought I was the only one who struggled with trying to thread the wrong end of the needle). No shame in our game. Your stitching is beautiful. I look forward to all the future shenanigans and helpful tips
Yay! A great video with no glitches! Thank you for all of it but especially for your words of encouragement at the end. And I agree with Jane - of course everything has to be alphabetized completely- at my age (77) I have to use all the skills still available to me. Thank you again - can’t wait til next time.
Oh ladies I’m so glad I found your videos you keep me in stitches and I love your work. Jane do not worry about boring us we love to see whatever you do, it opens up our choices. I was laughing with and shouting I did the same thing when you announced stitching a design twice ! Mine were only 6 months apart. I paid a big price for a Prairie Schooler Santa with a sewing machine and stitched it immediately Then when I decided to do a few more Santa’s for the season I did it again and nothing jogged my memory until I put it away and discovered my goof. Julie I love how you think everything out , you have opened my eyes to new points of view. I’m going back to view your previous videos!
Oh do NOT apologize for stitching a Shepherd’s Bush! I love their designs and have stitched some. You’ve rekindled my interest in doing the stockings and I love designs with sheep in them! I am enjoying your videos. I didn’t realize you were the photographer (and typist) for Julie’s Hardanger book(s)! I took several classes with you Julie and even visited your suite at Needlework Galleria (and spent some money)! And HUGS to you both and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I’m so glad I found your channel. Great to see hardanger! Julie, I have done several of your designs. I just started stitching ‘Kim’ for the second time. One of my favorite pieces. I love the shape. Thank you!
Love your chaos as you put it. You two have a wonderful friendship, enjoy your videos so much and now they deliver life changing tips!!! You are not alone. Who hasn’t taken too much time trying to thread a needle and love that you shared why. Life changing for sure!!! I have heard of purchasing the same chart more than once, loving it so much, makes twice as nice. But I have never stitched a chart twice without knowing I had already stitched it. Laughing with you my friends, laughing with you. When you choose to finish them both, you have one for yourself and one for a friend. Your friend would treasure it right Julie? (Wink wink) Keep showing previous finishes. Beautiful. Looking forward to seeing your next video.❤❤
Dear Ladies - THANK you 🙏🏻 You could not be more right with your words on the end of this clip 💞…after living 30years in America, I came (2017) back to Germany to be there daily and care for my parents. Lost my Mom 2019 to cancer and been daily with my dad until I discovered him one Morning - he had ended his life😢 I’ve myself been many times „in dark places“, constantly living with guilt for having defected communism and my parents …now it just added the guilt of not being there with my dad day and night … ONE DAY AT THE TIME 💞🙏🏻
I love you two. Sooooo very funny. Jane, I love stitching stockings too (primarily so I don't have to frame them), and after I had stitched stockings for everyone I know, I then started naming them after Christmas characters: Santa, Mrs. Claus, Santa's reindeer, Frosty, names from the nativity, Noel, Carol, Holly, Ivy, etc., etc. So glad you chose one more day many days ago. --Deb
Every time I try to thread a needle on the wrong end I will remember this video. I think you have also solved my problem with a piece I abandoned. I couldn’t get some of the stitches to lay right. It is a piece of Aida I dyed and hand washed. I am going to heavily starch it to see if that helps. Your friendship is a joy to behold.
Love you two so much. Trying to catch them all. Laugh so much, smile so much at your wit. It’s awesome Jane you do all the SB! AND fun you alphabetize. 😂. Yep many more comments I could make. ❤ you have great content - DO what you love for sure. I whatever, how many doesn’t matter we want you.
You two are a hoot! I use 12” lengths of silk to avoid it fraying. You stitch white first because there is a chance of picking up the colored fibers as you stitch. In your case the white could become pink! Chocolate girls too! Jane, I like Shepherds Bush too. I lost all of my work save two pieces we found balled up in Katrina. I’ve got in excess of 70 WIPS that run the gamut from samplers to Lizzie Kate and 28 ct to 56 ct. I stitch what I like when I like. I’m a SABLE stitcher(stash acquisition beyond life expectancy!) so don’t feel badly that you own more than you can do. If it gives you pleasure, do it!! Hugs😊
God bless you ladies … thank you for being brave to talk about suicide. Hugs I’m sorry… love all your stitching! God bless you both in Jesus name. PS - thanks for being so fun and great ! Glad my hubby and I found you both! And - I believe if you change cross stitch patterns that you like to the colours of Shepard’s bush- I’m thinking 💭 you’ll be happy stitching on anything… I thinks it’s the bright happy colours… just a theory.
Jane and Julie, I just love your videos! Please keep them coming. Jane, I am sending you a heartfelt thank you for giving it one more day. Our lives are enriched by having you in this community. Jennifer
Another wonderful video full of beautiful stitching and laughter. We can’t ask for more than that! Thank you for reaching out to those who are struggling, letting them know there is light out there for them to have and live in. And thank you, too, for the reminder that our lives can change in an instant and that we must not take each day for granted. ❤️
Another wonderful video. I look forward to your episodes like I do The Handmaid’s Tale and Sisterwives. Thank you for the Mental Health awareness comments. When you are in the darkness it’s hard to remember it’s not permanent. We all need to be more patient and aware because we truly don’t know the demons people are fighting. Jane, I retired after 25+ years of IT project management, I knew there was a reason I liked you. I’m waiting on delivery of A Tisket A Tasket and can’t wait to find fabric. Julie when you said that the needle eye has an entrance and exit 🤯. I hope if you have to go that the season will be Spring, hoping Tom can deal with it. 😝
Awesome video! So glad the camera kept rolling! I heard that about the needles having the right side to thread it! My sewing machine needle only goes in the holder one way for that very reason ! Your Wips are beautiful and I loved your Delightful Delivery things Julie ! Can’t wait until the next one !
Love your channel! You two have great chemistry, are so sweet and a load of laughs. Always stitch what you love and you will find an audience who loves to watch. Keep up the good work!
Fabulous show. I love the humour between you ladies. Julie I had to pause and go look at your website. My goodness I'll be placing an order. What great designs! Pleased technology played ball this time because what you have to say is well worth listening to. Thank you both for persevering. You end message is very pertinent. We go about our lives blithely unaware of anyone else's problems. We tend to be so self absorbed that, even during conversations, we aren't truly listening. Men are particularly vulnerable. Here in Australia we have a campaign called 'RUOK?' That encourages us to ask the question then really take in the answer both spoken and unspoken.
God bless you for sharing the touching message about suicide and how important it is to ask for help, to love yourself enough to live just one more day, and again on more day.
Oh my word! You had me in stitches over the life changing hint. It was wonderful to have something worth laughing that hard over and it couldn't have come at a better time. I thank you truly for the blessing. We are at a first anniversary for a life altering event that mirrors your own and the pain has not lessened in our hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you navigate your way through this tough time.
Thread splitting happens to me also with DMC and I think it is because the thread is very old. As far as the 40 count, ditch it! Work on fabric that gives you pleasure. My favourite fabric is 25 count lugana and when I use that I do one thread, full cross over one and it looks great. The only time I use different count is when there is blending (two different colours in the needle). You two are refreshingly human and I really enjoy your channel. Keep up with the life changing tips, they are greatly appreciated 🙂🙂.
Thank You Ladies for sharing the highs as well as the lows of life….love….laughter….tears….Your “Wanna Doo” projects are exciting for me to look at in your compilation notes……Yes life is fragile…..
Julie, I always stitch the letters first then fill in the background. I do t worry about the letter stitches standing up, I just stitch everything using the same tension. Regarding silk - I stitch 2 handed and always have to twist my needle to retaliate the thread - this happens to me with either cotton or silk. It may help you to twist your needle every 10 stitches or so. Jane - OMG! Your needle threading was too funny! Luckily I use readers when stitching so I always know whether I’m threading the eye or the tip LOL
Loved the video as usual, I soooo look forward to the two of you. Jane I'm truly glad you gave yourself one more day because as you can see from the comments below you bring all of us great joy! Julie I saw the pain in your eyes and my heart is sad for you I hope you find peace through this sad time.
Oh my goodness, another wonderful, hilarious video with so much beautiful stitching. Too many funny moments to mention but certainly the life changing tip brought me to tears from laughing so hard! On a serious note, my thoughts are with you as you are dealing with recent difficult events. The message at the end was so eloquently stated and so, so profound. The importance of raising awareness of mental health issues can not be overstated! I hope that your stitching brings both of you some joy and peace.
Thank you for another episode with our Delightful Duo! You always make me laugh! Julie--I totally understand your struggle with thinking our stitching needs a "purpose" and a place on our walls. We all need a Jane in our lives to cheer/push us forward. Your friendship is such a beautiful thing to observe. (And, I must find the design you showed called "Give Thanks for all Things" by Joan Elliot Designs. It took my breath away.) Thank you for being you and how important it is to live in the moment with those around us.
Hi ladies! Glad to see my absolute favorite flosstubers! Great tips on needles. As always full of humor and laughs. The one more day message gave me chills. The darkness is not a forever a thing. Love and hugs. Life is so beautiful and even in the hard spots, there’s always joy to be found ❤
Wow!! What a fun filled video as always. So many new designs and designers that I have not seen before. And again, Wow - what an ending. In the world that we are living in, more so than at any other time, this was needed!! Thank you- thank you - thank you - for words of encouragement and direction for those in despair. Just a season in our life to live and learn through, with a strong emphasis on living. Be well! ❤
You two are so hilarious! Enjoy you so much! I was so excited to see your Vintage Sampler. Wish I didn't have so many WIPS....I would attempt some new stitches. Julie, when you were talking about stitching the single columns for the lettering on the "feed bag" pattern...it reminded me of a Flosstube I watched by Blitstitch. Flosstube #5 about diagonal parking, but he talks technically about coming up into an empty hole and going down into a hole already filled with threads. I do some full coverages and I don't like it when I'm finishing stitches where the surrounding holes are filled. This is why I don't do cross country anymore. Blitstich's name is Bryan. He is an engineer, so has thought out his own theory of cross stitch. Very informative. Let me know what you think.
Love your videos, you two are so funny🤣. Jane I picked up GH 1857 because when I was at Country Sampler they had the little mattress pin keep made up….it was so awesome I had to get the book. Have I started it yet….no🤣.
Jane and Julie, thank you so much for shouting out my channel. That was totally not necessary, but I do appreciate you. You're one of my favorite duos to watch on Flosstube! Great tip on using the spool hugger on the perle cotton balls along with the sticky dots! It's been a long while since I've used any and noticed how unruly the balls were while reorganizing my threads last night. I'll have to pick some of the huggers up (I have some of those dots). Thank you for sharing that. Jane, you shared profound wisdom in your closing. Thank you for letting your watchers know that the real bad days are only temporary. I'm so sorry for the friends and family of the person that succumbed to the darkness. Julie, I don't know what happened, but I saw your tears in your eyes. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Jane, thank you for sharing your life changing tip. 🤣 Your brain must have been too busy processing other things at those times. I don't have an explanation for stitching the Lizzie Kate again. 😄 You are NOT the only Shepherds Bush stitcher! I love SB and have stitched up/made several of their stockings and other designs, too. I just don't have any I've begun recently. Stitch what makes you happy regardless of feeling you need to stitch other designs for Flosstube. Why stitch on something that doesn't bring the same joy as SB? Julie, the Vintage Sampler is just gorgeous! Your pieces are just - no words - treasures - beautiful! You are so talented. Thank you for all of the delightful ess you share!
Hello ladies. Julie if you are making a black sampler wall, have you ever did blackwork? I like it when I need a little break from x stitch. You both have such beautiful projects. Thanks for all the time you both spend to entertain me!!
Thank you both for your episodes. Your heartfelt comments were so beautifully stated. Love the tips you share. Please include the counting pin explanation soon! You are both so much fun!
Very nice video ladies! I love everything you showed. The Heartstring Samplery drums are fun. I just got to meet her over the weekend at a retreat. Julie I recently purchased one of your kits from your store and can't wait to get started. I had a hard time making a decision so will be back for another kit soon. I also wanted your hardanger book but it was out of stock. Will you have more soon? I'm so glad for you girls that your video seemed to film more smoothly. Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Hi Jane and Julie... you both always have wonderful projects to share with us and today was no exception. Especially that particular tip about threading the needle. Had a good chuckle on that one!!! I am stitching the 12 days of Christmas by Hello from Liz Mathews right now and they are the cutest stitch!! Jane my heart skipped a beat when you said you gave yourself one more day. I commend you on having the courage to do it. I hope and pray that those words got through to someone who really needs to hear that. I have breathing problems and I heard a phrase from an EMS who was calming down a young boy who was having problems breathing. We are told to inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. He said smell the roses and blow out the candles. That sentence made such sense to me and has helped me visualize how to breath when it is panic time. Thank you so much to both of you and keep up the good work.
So, I'm never going to watch you two anymore. You cost me money and I'm thinking about sending you an invoice. Having discovered you only last week (1st week of September) I have had to buy the tree pattern with the sheep by the Italian people (names? memory?!?) and today I've just watched this video and have HAD to buy Give Thanks for All Things. Stop it. Just stop it. My problem? I'm hooked on Jane and Julie. You two are an absolutely fabulous pair and if it wasn't so far from me (Dorset in England) to you in Minnesota I'd be round there for pie and chocolate and M&Ms sooner than you could cross a stitch. You really are so joyous and, seriously, my favourite channel. Live long and prosper. And I'm SO glad you shared your life-changing tip. My life will never be the same.
You two are so funny - really, I just love you’re sense of humor. A couple tips that I’ve heard (not that you asked for my opinion 😂) - when working on 40 count fabric it may take a few days for your eyes to get accustomed to the smaller count. So before throwing the project in the corner 😂 - give it a few days. For stitching with silk I’ve heard that using no more than an 18” length of thread is best so it doesn’t fray. Jane - love your finished pieces. Really nice! Julie - I would love to see you demo some of the Hardanger stitches. I’m self taught from back in the 70’s/80’s before there were many instructions on Hardanger. Joan Elliot also does designs for Halloween and Christmas - they’re all gorgeous. I haven’t seen the Thanksgiving one - thanks for sharing.
You guys are hysterical....I'd love hanging out with you, very sharp wit and quick humor and talented to boot. Your heartwarming message at the end was very touching. We recently had a suicide in our small town. It affects everyone tremendously even if you don't know the person that well. Thanks for the important information ♥️
It’s always a “delightful delivery” when you two post a video! So glad the last video didn’t do you in! 😉🤪Enjoyed this video…the tips, tricks, laughter, and enabling are just some of the wonderful reasons I am so excited when your videos post! Jane, your closing thoughts and comments were greatly appreciated! I know first hand how quickly life can change as well as what suicide does to those left behind. I hope and pray someone will be encouraged by your words and seek help and that all of us will be more intentional in expressing our love to our family and friends! Your words are powerful when they come from experience…so very grateful that you chose one more day! ❤❤ Until we “meet” again, happy stitching!!
Jane, I'm so sorry to hear of your needle threading dilemma, please know you are not alone and Julie, thank you for the enlightenment on the actual proper entrance and exit sides of a needle eye, who knew? Thank you ladies for another enjoyable and encouraging video, so happy you gave it one more in many ways, Kristy.
I so enjoy your videos :). You make me smile and sometimes laugh out loud! I love seeing your shepherd’s bush pieces Jane - thanks for sharing - and always stitch what brings you joy. Julie I absolutely love your Vintage Sampler! I went to your website to purchase it because I decided I needed it :). But the website shows Out of Stock. Was in looking in the wrong section? Please let me know. I’d love to see your technique for doing drawn thread and I’d also like to learn how to hem stitch. I appreciate you sharing your talents :)). And I will always remember your life changing tip Jane and I’ll think of you and smile every time I thread a needle!! Thanks ladies.
I have them!! I forgot to update quanty. My "web guy" is going to change that for me as I'm on the road. Please check back again on Monday afternoon. My apologies🙂
I was going through old charts from the 90s a few days ago, and I have that circular Shepherd's Bush behind you, and was thinking I should finally stitch it. So funny to see it in your video when I was just looking at it! The colors are too pale as charted, I'm going to punch them up a little.
Jane just tell yourself stitching is the craft, while purchasing patterns is the hobby. Ladies, Stitching by the Shore flosstube (I think thats it) is creating a scrapbook of finished pieces having no plans. I thought that was a wonderful idea... better than a drawer or box under the bed. You can leave scrapbooks out where everyone can appreciate your work.
I'm 59, and I can't do 40 ct anymore. 32 is as small as I care to go, prefer 28. And I love to stitch on black linen, but my eyes have rebelled against it, lol!
I am a shepards bush stitcher am working now on Mary's Stocking for my first granddaughter Charlotte. Also have worked on just nan. Would love to know what the pattern is right behind Julie.
I was wondering what brand scissors do you use to cut your hardanger? I keep buying scissors and they’re all to thick. I love love love you guys!! Thank you for your time and beautiful work. It’s inspiring
I highly recommend the white handled scissors and/or the pink handled scissors with the "click" cover that I sell on my website. I will show them in our upcoming video again... -julie
“So I had to get up outta my chair”….I could almost hear the collective audience groan because we all know that is the worst once you have gotten comfy stitching 😮
It is available! I forgot to change my inventory. Please check again tomorrow afternoon as I am on the road and will have my "web guy" update it for me! 🙂
I really think that you should have Tshirts printed up with that Life Changing Tip on it. Oh Lord. I may laugh all day about that one. I laughed, and laughed... and laughed some more - only because I've don't it myself! Love that I can now put a name to it. Great job gals!!!
You guys are knocking it outside of the park every time

Stitched the same thing 3/4 through before realizing it, you are not alone.. love you both. Hugs from the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Linda

Jane and Julie, I just love your videos! Please keep them coming.

You are so much fun to spend stitchy time with. 🪡🪡🪡
Love you ladies.🥰🥰🥰
Here in Australia we have a campaign called 'RUOK?' That encourages us to ask the question then really take in the answer both spoken and unspoken.
thank you both ❤️
God bless you for sharing the touching message about suicide and how important it is to ask for help, to love yourself enough to live just one more day, and again on more day.
So glad I found you both. You made my day!
Thank you Jane and Julie. Sticking with you two isn't hard - it's a pleasure.
You two are fabulous! ❤
Love the visit and yes life can change in a second. 🌻🌻🌻
Great video. I am watching them all. Great tips, I learned about turning the needle 🪡🧵
Praying for all the families and friends who have been affected through suicide. Thank you for sharing your talents.
God continue to bless you both for the joy you bring to the world!💕💕
Thank you for another episode with our Delightful Duo!
Life is so beautiful and even in the hard spots, there’s always joy to be found ❤
You two are hilarious and it just makes my day . Thanks so much.😊😂
Be well! ❤
Great tip about threading the needle!
As a Texan I love hearing you say “y’all” lol 😊
The Vintage Sampler is now in stock. Thank you for your interest in my design and for watching our channel -🙂Julie
😊😂
The colors are too pale as charted, I'm going to punch them up a little.
very beautiful you two are funny
Jane just tell yourself stitching is the craft, while purchasing patterns is the hobby. Ladies, Stitching by the Shore flosstube (I think thats it) is creating a scrapbook of finished pieces having no plans. I thought that was a wonderful idea... better than a drawer or box under the bed. You can leave scrapbooks out where everyone can appreciate your work.
I'm 59, and I can't do 40 ct anymore. 32 is as small as I care to go, prefer 28. And I love to stitch on black linen, but my eyes have rebelled against it, lol!
❤❤❤
I am a shepards bush stitcher am working now on Mary's Stocking for my first granddaughter Charlotte. Also have worked on just nan. Would love to know what the pattern is right behind Julie.
Hi Nancy. The pattern right behind Julie is "Shepherd's Earth" by Shepherd's Bush.
-julie
Thank you!
I always think the fabric color adds SO much to the chart, don't you?
“So I had to get up outta my chair”….I could almost hear the collective audience groan because we all know that is the worst once you have gotten comfy stitching 😮
Your Hardanger sampler says out of stock.
It is available! I forgot to change my inventory. Please check again tomorrow afternoon as I am on the road and will have my "web guy" update it for me! 🙂
