anyone who has red lentils they need to use up here is a simple lentil soup recipe!! i always customize it heavily and its always super good :) sautee 1-2 carrots and an onion for a few mins until soft. add about 1 tbsp of cumin and cook that for approx 1 minute. add 3/4c red lentils, 1.5 cups veg broth, and a 15 oz can of diced tomatoes! bring to a boil then simmer for about 15 mins and add spinach towards the end! its so good with bread and butter. i usually throw in whatever veg, beans, potatoes, etc i need to use up
I love seeing these videos of yours, where you prep ingredients or foods/snacks that you know you’ll use/eat. I’ve been working in kitchens for the past 3 years now, so that prepping of ingredients & vital, flavorful components is all too familiar & so fun to see the difference in techniques 🥰
i woke up today feeling super anxious and unwell and i’m so happy to see you’ve uploaded, i feel like we’re on facetime and we’re just chatting about food… thanks Emily 🥹🩷
I need one of those small ice cube trays! I also have a bunch of oranges and all the things you said sound super good 🍊 also I made immunity shots with some of my oranges and lemons, was able to use up the ginger I had as well.
I did the same thing and pickled some mini cucumbers and some baby carrots that were almost gone. Then I reused the brine and added some sliced onions.
Happy new year Ewingers (or whatever this community is called😭)! Love that you make preventing food waste such a priority..you can also cutbthe green beans up a little and freeze them, where I live you can buy them frozen in any grocerie store for cheap and I add them random meals everyday🙂↕️🌱
❤❤❤looking at thrive market. Your most informative video yet. A notebook and a whiteboard magnetized to the fridge to note veggies ready to be used. ❤❤❤
Hey mate, greetings from Australia 🇦🇺 I LOVE your videos!❤ Seeing u using up garlic, made me wanna share my fave way to eat garlic😊 (u probably already do this, but some may not have tried it🙂} I regularly toss heads of garlic in the oven when roasting other things…spuds, veges, chick peas etc…then when cooked and cooled, I just pop the whole cooked garlic heads in a jar and store in fridge. Then whenever snacky…I grab toast or crackers and squeeze out a couple cloves onto it. Soooo creamy and caramelised and ooeygooey ~ plus the harsh raw garlic taste that some love but I don’t enjoy, vanishes! It’s heavenly! Especially yum to eat that toast with soup! ( just had my gooey garlicky toasts with “Emmasrq’s simple red lentil soup” from one of the comments here. Thankyou Emma. It was Delicious!} 🥣
i think the zesting will be less scary for you if you hold the orange and the microplane and use it sorta like how you use a y peeler if that makes sense? like one fluid motion top to bottom while rotating the orange with your thumb supporting the bottom of the orange
Completely random but I’ve been a silent subscriber for a while now. I haven’t ever seen you eat/make rice. Is there a reason? I’m so curious 😂 Great video btw 💕
oops when I said thanksgiving leftovers I meant christmas lmaooo
I was thinking damn, she’s been holding this footage for a MINUTE!
@@teresathompson1803 i was thinking she's been holding on to those leftovers for a minute 😂
i'm trying to eat an orange every day to get me through the darker months and i HIGHLY recommend actually eating in orange!!
Your videos are like chamomile tea. Appreciate you

This is probably the perfect Emi video, it has all the hallmarks of a classic, another absolute banger 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pickling green beans is actually super common in the southern US! We always called it dilly beans for reasons unknown to me lol but they're not bad
Lord, we will pickle and fry anything down here.
garlic sprouts are perfectly safe to eat 🙂depending on who you ask 😛
hey, Emily! love yooouuu (and whoever else is reading this 😉)! ☺️😃
Everytime I think buying lentils is a great idea and then boom 2 years later and they are still in the pantry 😂

if you let the orange peel dry (just leave it somewhere dry in your kitchen) then you can use it to add flavor to your tea, it’s delicious :-)
oh that sounds lovelyy
Won't it make the tea bitter from the pith?

wooo emily finally got a bigger cutting board!
My comfort channel 💟
A 1 AM upload from Emily?!! Here for it🥳
I grate all my garlic! like with a grater you might use for parmesan or a bit bigger! i reccommend it makes it literally so easy and more flavorful
woke up at 5 am from horrible cramps n instantly put this vid on 🙏🏼🙏🏼 this plus heating pad plus eating 3 cookies saved me ‼️💗
i know it needed to be 3 cookies precisely
I LOVE raisins. I'll defend them until the day I die. They don't deserve the hate!
I love putting red lentils in creamy pasta :)
I like to use orange peels when I brew batches of chai concentrate! Not the pith though since they are bitter.
orange is my favorite flavor for a matcha. definitely summer-y but it's soooo delish
You've really learned how to use the freezer to its fullest potential!! So smart. I'm inspired

Okay but you’re so incredibly dreamy 🤎 (also ty for unknowingly helping me stay vegan amongst a family of meat lovers 😭)
Candied lemon or orange zest is really amazing
if you give the coconut milk a shake 🫨 it’ll all blend together vs separated & firm!
I did the same thing and pickled some mini cucumbers and some baby carrots that were almost gone. Then I reused the brine and added some sliced onions.
why haven't I thought to freeze orange slices for smoothies omg
Love your content thank you for posting !!! ❤❤
Happy New Year!!! 🎊
Wait an apple cinnamon smoothie is an amazing idea

Orange and olive oil cake is a fancy way to incorporate the zest and juice of an orange.

Love 💖 Emily and love ❤ all those who watch this video because I love 🥰 the video. Another awesome video and appreciate it and Emily.

Too relateable. Always making food for my mom and we’re both always like… “this would be good with matcha” 😂
Which I may regret having bought 😝 Happy New Year and thank you for the video 💖
i never would've got there 😭 lmaoo
@emlyewng bless you 😅
I get scared of the microplane too. I think it is less intimidating when I hold the food steady and move the microplane ❤️
My dog gets an algae powder for her teeth on her breakfast and we always add water. We also call it her Soup 😂♥️
love your videos so much!
thank you!!
I love Emily ❤
I wanted to hear video Emily talk about the kombucha🫰
slay, legend
RED LENTIL DAHL!!!!
I thought I was the only one who likes bananas, but despises the smell of overripe ones. Now I know I’m in good company 😜
i want it to be less banana-y, i put ~less banana~ made me laugh
Completely random but I’ve been a silent subscriber for a while now. I haven’t ever seen you eat/make rice. Is there a reason? I’m so curious 😂 Great video btw 💕

I always have a hard time using TVP that isn’t just spaghetti bolognese
meaty chili? orrrr like a pad kra pao??
i have never had pad kra pao but i've seen it done with tvp before lol
I only get tvp for sloppy joes these days
tacos and burritos
❤❤
🤍🤍🤍
Like a lemon, I am also fine, but soft and wrinkly.
I’m a bit weary of people saying IF U KNOW, U KNOW. But only cos I never know. Sigh.😢
I never understand the hype surrounding raisins. They taste horrid
Happy New Year!!!!! 🎉
