Folks, I have been raving to my friends about this one for some time. All that have seen the early conceptual demos have been blown completely away. Hopefully you all find it as entertaining as those that saw the early concept videos. A lot of work has gone into making this one of the tightest edited videos I have produced. It features a very up-beat song and a lot of post effects to create a style that I like to refer to as "glitching." With over two weeks of work and a ton of new tricks to boot, I proudly present to you Twisted Velocity!

So many talented fsx movie makers around but this takes some beating. I watch this video lots. The sequence from 0.55 to 1.30 is a work of art.

How have you been? Haven't heard from ya in some time.
I actually went into this video to show how some canned effects can be utilized in ways that you normally don't see in Vegas, but rather higher end products like After Effects. Vegas can do most of what you want, but it comes down to trying to fit a square into a circular hole. A lot of out of the box thinking is required. You learn a lot when you start mixing effects, playing around, and in my case creating non-commercial videos to try said concepts.
What you have here is a masterpiece. The music fits in almost as perfectly as the shots you have created. Beautiful.

You have solid points, and I certainly agree. Having done videography for over 3 years now, I tend to find that new videographers use unnecessary effects to spice up the videos.
This is one reason I try out new things on a regular basis. I have videos that indeed use very little effects if at all. Most of those tend to be story driven more than anything else.

I used mainly Sony Vegas 9.0 to craft this video.
I can't say I agree with you. I have a wide plethora of types of videos, from stories, to commercial work, to syphonic, etc. The whole point of this video was the use of the techniques shown.

Honestly i find this the best flight simulator video on RUclips. you did an amazing job i was blown away. I love your editing style so much better than the typical flight sim video of an boring airline landing with the wing view. Once again great job i am very impressed i am going to show the guys at the airport this one for sure!

Yes, the song is a remix of a Brad Sucks song, but it is called Take a Shot and was remixed by Charlie Bit Me.

Thanks- I had to learn that the hard way. But if I have to sit thru another YT slideshow or mashup where EVERY cut or scene change is done with a different fancy wipe or exotic twirling, fading dissolve or effect - I'm gonna barf! But there IS a place for edge experimentation with SFX. People mainly don't like it because they never see it on TV- but they can't tell you WHY they don't like it! Everybody's a critic- but FEW Create! GO, my friend! YOU CREATE! And that is all the excuse you need.

It's all about the framerates mate. I use blur effects to mask some of the zooms to make them significantly less noticeable.

Yes, this is FSX mate. I used some filters to give a little more video realistic look. In reality, it probably detunes the colors, which gives it less of a "gamey" look.

I personally like Vegas 9.0, and there are some really cool new effects. It certainly also contains masking.
Saw the preview at xavier's place and it looked great...

Working on another VLog as we speak. I broke down and picked up a little HD camera to give a more professional look, and have some juicy new content like product previews and news that will be included in all the new VLogs.

Nice stuff Cody, the first plane seems to be a SU-26 perhaps? it seems to have a great flight dinamic compared to the default aerobatic plane in FSX. Really nice editing once again my friend, thanks for sharing.

I used several effects for that, but one is a time lapse effect I used from NewBlue.

Nah, when I get back from vacation, there will be quite a few new videos uploaded.
Great stuff! On the SFX controversy... few people can make good vids but EVERYBODY is an EXPERT at viewing them. The natural NOOb tendency is to use lots of effects, fancy dissolves, anything your vidware offers. Look at TV and the movies- how many times do you see them use ANYTHING but a straight cut to another cam scene? Almost never... and when it's done, it's done for a reason. I learned the hard way to dump the DISTRACTING effects and it gave my vids a MUCH more pro look. CHEERS!
I do wish I had a D0 stepper though, but at the time I bought the 920 I didn't realize there were signifigant differences between manufacturing.
Unfortunately all I got was a C stepper. Regardless, 3.8 on air cooling with max temps hitting only 69-71C isn't bad at all. I'm using a Zalman circular cooler in a push pull configeration in an Antec 900 case. I have 4 120MM fans, (3 in, 1 pushing out) and another 200MM fan on the top of the case pushing the air out. I got pretty good circulation.
