Just picked up an '05 EX 5spd with 271k on it, about a month ago. Being an EX, it has the factory "limo tint" on the windows. I'll be adding a slight tint to the front door windows, but not enough to attract attention. I'm doing subtle "factory" looking mods to it, just to personalize it a bit, but otherwise just keeping that "stock Gen2" look. I'm really liking it, and the 5spd makes it more interactive. I'm not stoked about the "rev-hang," which is really hard on transmission syncros, or the little "rpm boosts" that it does in parking lots, every time the steering wheel is moved, but apparently that's as good as Honda could do with them.
I’ve been modding an ‘06 V - started as my project and now needs to be my daily 🫠. Car has 220K miles, all FL and AR, never seen snow (it was my sister’s car originally and has no rust anywhere). I have disassembled and cleaned up the engine overall; replaced gaskets and o-rings, sensors, everything on the accessory side (water pump, tensioner, power steering pump, a/c condenser clutch) but the timing chain - waiting for aftermarket cams/valves/RSX oil pan+ upgrade. Plus…new poly engine mounts, added 300amp JS Alternators alt., dual battery, wiring and charging system, all aluminum radiator, thermostat and housing, new wiper assembly and various worn out parts. I just finished the freshly painted valve cover and have painted or am painting wipers, trim pieces, brackets and anything that looked a little rough. I’m building an auxiliary relay panel right now… I used to sell LEDs so I have everything from interior bulbs to bi-led projector headlights in boxes. Still working on it, running out of time and money. Painted bumpers, LEDs and a Raspberry Pi computer system/ digital dash coming soon… and a full suspension upgrade. Midlife crisis #3.
I work in the forest all day. I need to make one of these old crvs into an ATV. Im getting rid of my 2016 honda CRV. The belt driven transmission won't do what I tell it to. The whole car feels like a squishy toy. It's all round and made out of plastic. I'm going back in time. I'm getting one of these boxy old early 2000's crv's. I'm adding a full frontal steel push bumper, roof rack, trailer hitch to carry a bike rack, installing extra fog lights, lifting the suspension getting thicker nobbier tires, reinforced rims, putting a platform on the roof rack to carry solar panels, boosting the engine, replacing every part that is showing age, repainting it, detailing it, restoring it. This car is about to become an immortal god for traversing the forest.
Tint is important it changes the appearance completely. I have 20% all the way around. It was the first thing i did to my 2nd gen. If ur thinking about tint id recommend 20$. Its dark enough but not to dark
My experience with a rooftop luggage basket is that it creates wind drag and cost more money in gas. I wouldn't put one up there for looks purposes alone.
Ws looking for a roof rack... found s hige yakima pod at the trash... good shape. Looking to wheels but not sure about spacers... Looking to made a led rear lightz
Just bought a crv two weeks ago, honestly don’t know much about cars but i would like bigger tires, do i need a lift kit and what size tires would be best if i didn’t need one? Thanks
Damn I’ve been trying to get the sun visor on the hood from your thumbnail of this video but I can’t find it if some one in the comment section can post a link to it would be appreciated
I have a 02 crv. 400k plus miles. Still original motor trans. Change the motor oil every 5k miles. The trans fluid every 30k miles. Easy upgrades and repairs.
if the trans fluid doesn't look very good, i would suggest dropping and filling a quart a month while also changing the inline trans fluid filter behind the bumper

I just bought a hooptie '02 CRV from a friend for cheap. It has 216k miles. Whats your take on high mileage crvs, will they last?
It's a honda. They'll last forever as long as you take care of them (general maintenance)
I bought a 05 Honda CRV with 232k miles. It’s now at 316k and it still runs smooth as heck

K24 lasts longer than the car.
