I received a KO Swoop today it has the same rounded beak and wings as the OG. So they must have altered the mould. Also, the weapons of my KO are red.
The biggest difference that I notice is that the legs/claws are gold colored with the KO and red on the OG.
I was able to get both versions with regular red feet

Not an accurate comparison because the KO Swoop he is showing is based on a Diaclone variant.

I have a few KOs and I do like them. I've been getting the Hasbro reissues as they come out but I did get a KO Prime so my reissue could have a trailer. The KO cab was short on fit and finish but the trailer is quite nice. Only problem was where the control consoles were mounted to the side of the trailer. The mounting pegs stood proud of the side of the trailer. I just removed the stickers, sandd the pegs flush and got some new labels from Toyhax. I do like that the KO Swoop has all the safety features deleted bringing it back to JDM spec! I was looking at getting the rest of the Dinos as KOs to go with my OG Slag. (I do like the gold feet on Swoop better as well!) On your OG Swoop, here's a tip if you want to restore your wings. (If you have an airbrush.) Take the wings (and other chrome bits) off and soak them in oven cleaner until the chrome comes off. Buff the plastic until it is super smooth, hang the parts and airbrush them with the refill paint from a Molotow marker. The markers themselves work great for touching up edges but not so well on large areas. (I did get away with doing Huffer's arms with a marker though.)Let the parts cure for a couple of weeks before touching/reassembling them.
I've been getting a few kos and the current reissues as well. Last year I loss my son and 95% of my collection (all my g1s for sure) on the same week. So I am glad I can find cheaper options to rebuild with. And I know some folks hate kos but to be honest it's hard to tell the difference somtimes.
@@DavidAguero True. I did get them just for me to flesh out my G1 collection but if I ever do sell them they will be sold as such. Just wish Hasbro would release the line in the same waves that they did in '84 and up. Sorry to hear about the loss of your son. Something no parent should have to endure.
@@jpatt1000 thanks for the kind words. It's been difficult but he helped me collect so I am pushing forward on rebuilding. I agree with the wave releases but unfortunately I have noticed that they are only releasing prior reissues. Hopefully they will rerelease other characters .
@@DavidAguero Just got my Dinobots today! All five for $120 and only 23 days from China! (And that was with them spending a week in Chicago! Quite a bit faster than my other purchases!) Despite the photos on Ebay showing the rounded "safety" beak and wings my Swoop also has the same pointed beak and wings as yours. (Which I think looks much better anyway!) The printing error on Grimlock's box calling him the "Dinobot Bommander" has also been fixed. I've seen reviews of the KO dinos showing bad/chipped paint but mine all look really good. (Just needed some smudging cleaned off of some chrome. Oil or something got on them.) One big difference I've noticed between the originals and the KOs is the smell! G1 Transformers had a smell that I liked with the combination of rubber, paint and the plastic Takara used. The KOs stink like a plastic factory!

Your the only one that I know of comparing a original to a KO.
My KO swoop has the rounded beak and wings along with the red vs gold. I wonder if these are coming out of different factories or if the same factory with different molds.
Thanks, I was actually hoping to get the regular version when I ordered this. My original has a broken beak.
