- Indiana Fever players Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Lexie Hull met with the media before practice on Tuesday at Mohegan Sun Arena.
They discussed what went wrong in Game 1, the physicality and missing shots, focus and accountability needing to be there on Wednesday - which has become a must-win game.

I love how for these three it’s about figuring it out together. Yes they haven’t been here before but they WILL figure it out at some point and by doing it together, it will be so much more gratifying.
The refs sucked in game one. It's almost impossible for 5 to beat 8.
Gotta control what you can control. The team didn’t play well enough to win and you have to fix that before you can say the refs were a major factor.
I think the lack of flow is what did a lot of it, challenging a terrible call, injuries, and clock malfunction etc. Never could get into rhythm, if they had maybe the shots start falling and they make a real game of it.
Yeah. Note the obvious fingernail gouge on her lower right eyelid... a little bit higher, and it could have damaged her eye badly.
Also imo -- The Fever are a young team who are not well coached in defense. Their nerves were making them just a tad off on shooting/scoring. They were thrown off track too by all the stoppages whenever they got the ball.

@@tonyedwards3938Boston gets hers through the offense, getting the defense out of balance, the pick and roll they’ve oddly went away from. They never really got going in their offense or fast break so it’s natural for Boston’s game to be rather ho hum. Jones isn’t a one of one matchup I’d look for the Fever to exploit, it has to be a team effort.

Caitlin does not want to be distracted by the controversial foul that was not called. She and the team know they are fighting the refs and the Sun but they do not have control over it. If the refs and league want them out, they would have to beat the Sun by a lot to overcome it. They will have to hit a lot of 3’s to do this as they will not get the calls when going to the basket - that has been made clear by the refs.

If it wasn't intentional did she apologise to CC, guess not, so it was intentional. To have Marina Mabrey mock the incident with Dijonai by acting it out and laugh about it.
There's another angle where you can see Dijonae looks like she's watching the ball, not what she's doing after missing the ball. So from that angle it looks like what she did by hitting Clark in the eye really was accidental. Doesn't mean she likes Clark by any means, just that after seeing it from that angle, I no longer think she poked her eye intentionally. Even Clark said she thought it was unintentional.

Exactly right - Thomas and Carrington have both taken intentional shots at Caitlin (do not care what they have said or even Caitlin says about it), she can see it. The Sun and the Sky are the dirtiest teams in the league and need to be dealt with.

I believe tomorrow is the last time we will see Caitlin play, this season. The intimidation factor worked and CC will have another awful shooting night. Every time she goes up to shoot and a hand is near her face she will flinch. It's human nature and she'll think about the poke. The league is doing nothing to suspend Carrington and the Fever has no enforcers. Combined with a terrible coach that does not defend her. I hope the Fever makes the necessary roster changes. They need players that play defense, not just Lexi Hull. They also need two enforcers, in case one gets suspended. They will have to establish early in games that they are going to hurt opponents. Also that there will be a price to pay if any Fever players are hurt intentionally. Caitlin will have to use eye protection in the future, because the jealousy and envy will not just go away. She has the off season to adapt to the eyeware. Why in the world would Caitlin say the poke was unintentional is beyond me? The world saw it and it's as clear as day. She better protect her eyes don't be a fool!
