But also notice how Phil also picks teams with emerging top 20 all time talent? Yeah, he took a good team and turned them into championship teams, no doubt, but I don't see him rebuilding a team. Nor do I see him changing his philosophy like Pop has done.
Im a Spurs fan, Ive seen the change from the 4-down with Duncan to the most beautiful offense I've ever seen that we have today. A system that wins without talent.
Coaches need talent, but I'd love to see how many championships Pop wins with Phil Jacksons talent pool. I'd dare say that the Shaq Kobe Lakers would have stayed together longer.

I believe one of the reasons that the Spurs were so successful as a team is that their most important players (Duncan, Ginobili and Parker) had personalities that matched perfectly with the type of coach Pop is, being the 3 of them really hard working, resilient and unselfish guys, putting collective goals above individuals. I don´t wanna throw names, but am not sure if other "diva-like" superstars would have a good time with this man coaching them.

I am a huge Lakers Fan, but Gregg Popovich wins coach of the decade. He's incredible, his relationship with his players truly reflect on the the player's incredible performance. His players or his WHOLE entire staff and team give him his utmost respect. And he's such a badass.

As a Rockets fan, I want the Spurs to do badly but there's no question in my mind that Gregg Popovich is the greatest coach of all time. People might argue that Phil Jackson is better but I feel like that's total BS. Players like Jordan, Kobe, and Shaq would've been great regardless of the coach but this guy Popovich turned a mediocrely talented indiviuals and made the Spurs a dynasty.

I’d argue that Ginobili and Parker were always really talented, but Pop enhanced their strengths and groomed them into the greats they are. Other than that I’d agree the rest of the players on his rosters were mediocre

@@calebthecritic4171 I agree i feel like manu and Tony would still be very talented players but I also feel that Pop and the spurs elevated them that one level higher. The role players did there thang to under the spurs system as well. Tim Duncan I think would still be the greatest power forward of all time anyway unless he was drafted by the cavs or knicks or a team with bad management.

Um, no, if you follow the Spurs or Rockets at all, you should know it's one of the bigger rivalries in the NBA, a feud going all the way back to the early 90's when it was Hakeem vs DRob. The Rockets have finally put together a team that can match-up with the Spurs.
