- In 2014, Barack Obama announced new relations with Cuba. U.S. cruise ships from Miami filled Havana’s port. Now, Russian warships have taken their place.
Trump and Biden rejected Obama’s opening in favor of a return to the Cold War policy of economic warfare. Under siege from the U.S, Cuba has sought support from its allies.
We ask Cubans what they think about the visit of the Russian and the U.S.’s policies toward Cuba.
Thousands of US troops including advanced weaponry right on the border with Russia and US missiles used to bomb Russia: No reaction. Two Russian ships on a temporary visit to Cuba: What the hell is *wrong* with them?
Their hypocrisy has no limits.
Just that one is controlled by a legitimate, democratic government, the other by an illegitimate, genocidal psychopath.

@@MathyBoonen No, neither has Russia every bombed the US, yet they are still seen as a threat. I said US missiles, sent to Ukraine, used on Russia, not US troops sending missiles. Ukraine is a proxy war between the US and Russia, essentially it's about future Ukranian NATO membership, but more and more it looks like if Ukraine is to win this, they would have to involve massive number of NATO troops on the ground, and that will lead to a third world war.
Didn't Russia repeatedly threaten to use nuclear weapons if US weapons were used to strike Russian soil? And the official US govt response to the warships in Cuba was that they were being monitored but 'pose no threat'.
Ships in Cuba have nothing to do with the US!
It is a sickening level of entitlement to react to this with "Why are ships so close to ME?"
The worst part is that they have an ACTIVE MILITARY BASE on Cuban soil, against the wishes of the Cuban people and government. Who are they to complain about Russian warships that temporarily dock at Cuba with the permission of its government?

The improvements: the best public healthcare and education system in Latin America, free child care, and the fact that they stopped being a neo-colony of the US and managed to survive this horrible economic blockade. The fall of the USSR was a challenging time for Cuba because they lost their key ally, but now things get better.
Russia has always shown solidarity with Cuba ! End the US blockade!

There is no blockade. An embargo is not a blockade. Cuba can trade with any country on the planet, just not the US because when he took power Fidel Castro seized the property of US companies.
What is US fleet doing in China Sea? What are US weapons doing in Ukraine?
In the case of Ukraine, defending a sovereign state from invasion. Last I checked, the US isn't interested in invading Cuba. Any other questions?

Mr. Gazpacho, being pretty sure of something is not one and the same with knowing something. Same as the illegal emigrants that cross the southern border to US, the Cubans coming to America at this point are economic refugees of very little education. Unlike the South Americans, they come here legally, a consequence of the irrational sanctions imposed on their country by the United States (Have you watched the video, have you listen to the people?) Have you considered the possibility that these people could care less who is in the White House as long as they can a job washing dishes and cleaning the restrooms at a restaurant? The media plays the all is normal in America tune, but the rest of the world sees what most of us are seeing from the inside. The rest of the world too sees how ridiculous the two candidates for presidency are. America has lost respectability, and if you read the comments on social media, the American government and American corporations are denounced for being for too long now the tyrant of the world. All happens for a good reason though, and change is coming all over the world, from the East.

Wow hope they set up a full time port for a whole new fleet.
Cuba is in constant need of fuel supplies used to generate electricity. It's a shame that the United States is unwilling to open trade to help with supplies including relief from natural disasters such as hurricanes. Likely that there is no embargo's preventing humanitarian aid but still a lapse in trade.
Cuba should be the port of call for the US and Russia to reset relations whenever the adults feel like talking again
