@@MapleOrange Yea there is levels to filmmaking. It's s long road for sure. I def think about that, you might be on to something. shoot me a line we can figure out what works.
Yes! I’m always reiterating to just experiment and test and find the look and feel before you actually “do the thing” haha. This is a great insight into a large production for the people working on a smaller scale to start doing these things now.😎
Yea man. It's interesting for sure. Regardless of the size its mandatory to do tests. We can def chat about the process of this project. I learned a lot
othello sir, this is my first viewing of any of your work (youtube does recommend well) and i'm really intrigued. i think you made a great overall decision with the HBM, i just can't get past using them on all of my own stuff, but what was the pushback on the CP2s?
So the HBM ended up being a last minute decision but it worked out. If I were to do it again I would go 1/8 Black satin for sure. The main reason for the CP2's not making the cut is the, size, F2 and the occasional frindging. The sigmas are 1.5 and they are a bit more compact. I packed all the cameras and lenses in one carryon bag so all the extra space was needed. I feel like the CP2's are a sleeper. They have a nice look they just don't have the hype as some of the other lenses.. I did end up swapping the cp2's for otus lenses though.
@@othellobanaci HBMs are honestly my go-to in terms of filtering. i bought a half strength 4x4 version and adored it but since moving up to 4x5.65 the cost has become unmanageable. interesting stuff with the CP2 choices there, i do understand though. did you find you stuck to a certain type of lighting that you preferred for faces?
@@halsinden We did mostly skypannel in LA and Aputure 600D in New York and Dallas. I like a hard light punching through a soft source but It the skypannels worked for the most part. Checkout Tokinas version of the 4x5.65 they are really cheap and do the same thing.
@@othellobanaci thanks for the recommendation there, shall check it out. how have you found filtering like this in terms of lighting for darker skin tones?

@@halsinden its good for darker skin tones. most people mess up with the white balance so that and false color help alot with the tones
