One of the most usable yachts I’ve ever seen. Beautiful design. Catamarans are not usually my cup of tea but this boat is amazing. It has so much usable space!
I tend to really like Cats over monohulls, but I haven't spent much time at sea... please help me to understand why you say that as I don't currently say why anyone would choose a monohull over a catamaran.
So much room for activities. I don’t even like the ocean. I started watching videos of boats in an inlet and wound up on this channel. The engineering on some of these boats is ridiculous
Catamarans are awesome. They feel a lot more stable on the water & people don’t get anywhere near as seasick. Even the small ones have an apartment like feel to them & you can fit in regular size appliances including washer & dryer.
Wow that's just an absolutely incredible amount of space!!!! OK I'm personally not keen on the layout, fittings or decor but so what! Anyone that knows about boats surely knows that - at this level - you can fit and furnish it to your own taste as you see fit. Nice review! Thanks.
I was on one over the weekend out of Newport, Rhode Island. Absolutely stunning. Did not feel like I was aboard a catamaran. I had to keep double-checking. The beam/width is staggering for a yacht. 4,000+ total sq ft of living space!! My friends added major custom upgrades to nearly everything shown in this video. €14million is a bargain.
I think it's better to have really good friends who own beautiful boats then owning them yourself. I always said- I'd be happy being "Kato" in the pool house instead of owning the 10 million dollar home/estate.
Arris, I don't thinkg that my friends even blink over $10 million. Their success is well earned. Also, they lease it out for big bucks which covers many annual fees/costs. @@MaximusMerideus
I haven't been on a boat in over 20 years but enjoy watching channels like yours. I had a 43 ft monohull cutter rig, in San Diego bay. The problem I had was it was too much boat for me because I couldn't handle it by myself. If something happened to my wife I wouldn't be able to sail it out in the ocean by myself. The way this power cat is set up, one person could do everything by yourself if you wanted to. Of course it's always nice to have crew with you.
I have never been convinced about catamarans and the internal layouts - somehow they fail to impress given the space available. This is the first one I have seen that does impress me. Great layout and looks beautifully constructed. Fantastic boat.
Again it's so wide... again the width...again a very wide boat...again and again and again and again and again and again. Did I mention it was wide again?
Sunreef is one of my favorite brand of catamarans. If I have to choose one of those I will choose the power cat 60 feet. I consider it more “equilibrate” and smart space user. But I do always complain about the taste of interiors. But definitely if I wanna spend money for buying a power cat I will try to build a one off by a professional builder not in fiberglass but in aluminum.
Sunreef seems to attract a lot of buyers that aren't really sailors, or at most day cruiser people. So you get interiors designed like modern houses with lots of sharp edges/corners and mirrored surfaces that even if you have a large crew would be difficult to keep clean. I love the sunreef layouts, but it has been many years now since I saw an interior come out of that shipyard that I thought was elegant and functional. This one for example was clearly designed to spend most of its time at a dock.
Amazing boat in every way. Love the open galley, people like seeing the food prep and having a kitchen available for use with ease. I’ve never been a fan of boats that tuck the galley far away out of sight. Just because there’s a chef on board doesn’t mean you won’t want to fix yourself a sandwich or a piece of fruit/snack every once in a while.
Very different interior design makes a change from the normal, you didn’t show the crew quarters where do the other 4 crew live? Also your main problem with a yacht with this beam is finding a berth very limited which ports you could get in and eye watering berth costs!
LOL, the crew stay on a 60ft cat that follows behind this one, and they would stay "on the hook" more than actually in port, i would imagine when "underway" or travelling... and only actually be in marina when they are going to be @ port for a substantial amount of time. When you think of it... that's the only way it would work, eh?
Think they were right forward in the hulls but as the crew were on board I didn't feel I could intrude. The Capt was kind enough to show me his cabin though
The actual reason for escape hatches on catamarans is in case they flip upside down. This happens quite a bit with smaller ones but rarely to ones that size I would imagine. The hatch opens up with hinges on the bottom so if you are flipped over the hatch opens upwards and you can quickly escape onto the bottom of the catamaran
The risk of flipping over must be minuscule with this catamaran. It can happen more readily with sailing catamarans because of the tall and heavy mast holding a large mainsail. Too much wind on the mainsail at a bad angle and the weight of the catamaran might not be enough anymore to keep it level on the water. This catamaran is pretty tall, but without a mast and mainsail, I don't see how enough force could be applied high enough to negate all that weight and lift one side enough to reach a point of no return.
Were's the rest of the crew space? Or am I misunderstanding something about this boat... there's a cap's cabin...5 regular guest cabins... but were's the crew space?
What people underestimate is the cost of a yacht these sizes are the costs of the maintenance which new or used is about 20% of the original price per year or more at times. It's easy for a $20M yacht to cost $2M a year to just keep up and park.
20% would be 4 million a year but I think you're right, 10% or 2 milly is still nuts. But, if you have it like that, more power to you and it's what makes life so wonderful- A person can work hard or get lucky but what they do with their money is none of my business.
I am a big fan of Sunreef and seen many videos of different internal designs. I realy like the bar and the cabin layout on this one and upper deck. The galley is a bit weird where it is but I can see why they did it. Just a perfect boat realy.
Amazing tour of an amazing boat. if I could have 1 boat, it'd be a steel explorer, but if I could have 2, my 2nd would be this boat here... a 100' Sunreef.
Catamarans are not my fav , but Hugo what an amazing video and an amazing yacht. Any chance you could get on the Azimut grande trideck and the Benetti Diamond.
The fact that it floats means it’s not just a tacky loft with a bunch of furniture thrown about. It’s a Bingo Hall with a dingy and an unnecessarily large bar. Hire a naval architect to layout a yacht and add a shred of character, my uncle Stan can draw an open space.
I stood on the dock in Denia a couple of years ago behind an 80 foot power Sunreef. It was massive but this is something else. Not my cafe con leche but it will never be an issue with my budget. Enjoy the videos though👍.
hello...may i ask you where i can find all the desk plan ? i m a scale modeliste . thanks you for all those videos they are great. i wish you the best for the sale. greating from belgium.
Should be named the Sunbeam. I absolutely love everything about this cat except the Victorian motif. Swap it out to either contemporary farmhouse or a beach vibe for a more relaxing less formal feel. One might feel the need to wear a tie while sporting sandals on this rig. Nice tour man, you kept the pace up without wasting any time on redundancy.
That is a beautiful boat. It seems like it was customized for partying in dock or close to shore. It would not be easy to live aboard in rougher waters. Just a mobile party house for its owner and his guests while parking next to other party yachts. It is likely only the crew that ever sees it on the open waters. It seems like it was designed well, and with a better floorplan, it would be a great yacht that can handle the seas rather well.
My thoughts exactly. We were shown the Captain’s cabin - but there must have been at most 3 more twin bed cabins for the crew - I’d predict a crew of between 4 to 6 in addition to the Captain. The catamaran is huge, so onboard maintenance will be a necessity on a cruise - especially with 5 large passenger cabins. There’ll be a Chef, possibly 2 or 3 passenger service crew + 2 x engineering staff. Crew size might vary but there’d certainly be a lot of crew on a Leviathan that size.
That Cat Is Wide (!) 3 berths = 3 times the Riva next door. I suppose you wouldn't be too concerned if you are paying 14 million euros. The jump in size from 80' to 100' is staggering. Also in my experience a lot of the ultra wealthy have exercise equipment and a lot of times the captains don't like it. Great video.

Not a fan of the interior, som strange solutions there. Seems heavily focused on being a party boat, I assume the owner is young. But really nice boat for sure. It makes me extremely excited to see the Silent Yacht 120 when it's done. Hopefully, we'll get to see it when that time comes.

Wow!! Firstly, I dont think you need to have to explain yourself to anyone. You have worked hard and well to get where you are.
