This movie is called "My Way." The fact that D-Day is happening is about the only historically accurate part of this scene. Sure, the in-your-face destruction is done well, and there were in fact soldiers in the Wermacht from Japan, but almost nothing else shown here is close to accurate.
Agreed. They make it look like there's an entire division at this little section of beach. The beaches were sectioned off into strongpoints and each had a contingent of soldiers. On DDay, while some German-held sections caused heavy casualties, were relatively light in terms of defense numbers. This makes it look like thousands of Germans were all over this section.
I knew an old German soldier named Walter that lived in an apartment complex a few doors down from me back, in the 1990’s. He has long since passed away. Sometimes he would tell me war stories. He had moved to Michigan to become an American citizen and find work after the war, after when British-Canadian forces captured him in France and he was imprisoned and sent eventually to Great Britain. Anyway, He was hunkered down in a small rear village near the D-Day invasion. He was in charge of a small panzer group that consisted of very young men, some were 16 yr old boys. And most were not trained. Communications were coming back to him that said it ‘seemed like the allies had sent a million soldiers’ and they were coming their way. And that they KEPT coming…no matter how many they killed. He told the boys to dig in…and to fight to the last man. That was the official stance. But also implied not so subtly to them, that there was no dishonor in surrendering when so vastly out numbered. They had little food and supplies. He knew they’d likely be slaughtered. They did end up surrendering without a shot fired. He saved those young kids lives by being logical. Furthermore I’m speculating that they knew by then, that they’d much rather surrender to the Allied forces than to the Russians. But he said if the Nazi high command found out that you had surrendered, they would imprison your family back home. I wish that I could have heard more of his stories. Interesting to hear them from the other side. God bless humanity and all the souls of that generation.✌️
We never think about the axis powers, their leaders started this rip to the axis Soldiers and the thing they followed about you not being able to retreat is cruel
Well, I know this is probably the wrong channel to say that but: Actually, German troops in Omaha beach was smaller than expected. Historical filming shows how little resistance was found as Hitler's army was focusing efforts on eastern front during that time against soviets. Outnumbered after suffering heavy losses in Kursk and Stalingrad, Hitler was forced to retreat the war efforts after D-Day to Berlin. Which just prove that point of a heavily holywoodian view on that "alliance" where only soviets put 34 MILION solders against 14 million from US and UK COMBINED...
I honestly have really bad concerns on why people want to depict Naz1 army as "poor babies" and "poor hitler... if wasn't the concentration camps..." almost like that. So many wrong stuff on that depiction of a "romanticized view" on what was only pure fascist bloody regime. The scape goat of the capitalists you might say. Despite the "social" in Naz1 name, there's just big rich people getting more and more... "Oh hi BMW!" or "hey Porsche! How's going after ww2 huh? feels good?!" Go watch man stuff! Go watch "come and see". Then tell me those poor german boys was up about.
Lots of fibs in WW2. In this particular assault, allies claimed 5 to 9000 casualtys of Germans on day one which is a huge joke probably was even 5000 in all of Normandy
Well, What I meant is that weird attempts to show the n4zl regime as "poor guys" since 2000... the adoration of the "tech" and "development" almost sayin "IF wasn't the concentration camps... Purely from a military perspective it would’ve been interesting to see the effect if the Panzer reserves were released when They asked for them rather than Hitler being asleep and they didn’t want to wake him.
Why didn't the US bombers fly parallel with the coast rather than perpendicular? Wouldn't this increase the chances of actually hitting their targets? Were any dive bombers (like the SBD Dauntless) actual used once the invasion started? Just a few direct hits on the beach defenses would have made a huge difference. Also why didn't the ships fire "smoke" shells onto the beach just prior to the LCTs reaching it? This would have given the troops a much better chance.
I have asked that many times, I realize that would have been a longer ride that way, but as you and I see it, increased chances of hitting an important target.
Many kids here dont read enough it seems. Actually bomber squadron attacking Utah did just this. Their flight commander changed path and ordered Marauders below cloud level and fly parallel to beach so they can hit targets accurately.
There are no dive bombers on d-day. Dauntless were not deployed in europe as they are navy planes and the navy aircraft carriers are either on Atlantic or pacific. It was the army air corps that supported the european theater .

This makes it look like thousands of Germans were all over this section.
those Asian soldiers were from Korea

Well...attleast best non-animated anime i have seen in a while 😂
I knew an old German soldier named Walter that lived in an apartment complex a few doors down from me back, in the 1990’s.
Locking them in was fuxked up
I liked it for its action but I don’t know if it was accurate but very well made
Well, I know this is probably the wrong channel to say that but: Actually, German troops in Omaha beach was smaller than expected.
How's going after ww2 huh? feels good?!"
Go watch man stuff!
I'd adore Hitler" almost like that.
In other hand, portraying US and UK as the true heroes of the war... well, berlin was dominated by soviets and the soviet flag was put on the Reichstag as far as I remember. @@ripvanwinkle1819

The VFX studio basically duplicated the same aircraft all over the scene🤣
I like 5:18 , where the MG-42 just decides to stop making MG-42 sounds and turns into an M60.

My uncle was with the Seconf Ranger Battalion on D Day. Medic. 2 Putple Hearts. Never talled m u ch about it. My son was with the Second for 6 years. Medically retired. He heard about his uncles explpits. Hard act to follow. Gotta have some balls to climb those cliffs without a gun and service both sides with medical attention under fire. Balls!!!!!!!
There were people on both sides who had to. Kudos to people who tried to help injured people on both sides.🙏

This movie is not about a Japanese German soldier. It is the story of a Korean guy who was forced to serve in the Japanese army.
It is a movie that criticizes being forced to die for nothing on the battlefield by warmongers. If you want a historical war movie, you can watch "Saving Private Ryan." Every movie is fiction, even if it is based on a real story. Shouldn't the audience focus on what the producer wants to say?
Why is he depicted as fighting for the Germans here though, as opposed to the Japanese?
@@Thatdude64317 He was first conscripted by the Japanese, then taken prisoner by Soviets at Khalkin Gol, then conscripted by Soviets and then taken prisoner by Germans, then conscripted by Germans.

Brilliant reading the comments every person seems to have been at this battle 😂😂😂😂
Vietnam brings it all back to those who lived it. I guess you missed it.
Purely from a military perspective it would’ve been interesting to see the effect if the Panzer reserves were released when They asked for them rather than Hitler being asleep and they didn’t want to wake him.
The director of this movie probably didn't pay enough attention in history class
Can't even imagine what both sides went through..
Film name?
Pov of what to do during a bombing, run like an idiot and nothing will happen to you😂
Why didn't the US bombers fly parallel with the coast rather than perpendicular? Wouldn't this increase the chances of actually hitting their targets?
Were any dive bombers (like the SBD Dauntless) actual used once the invasion started? Just a few direct hits on the beach defenses would have made a huge difference.
Also why didn't the ships fire "smoke" shells onto the beach just prior to the LCTs reaching it? This would have given the troops a much better chance.
I have asked that many times, I realize that would have been a longer ride that way, but as you and I see it, increased chances of hitting an important target.
They would all got shot down if the did that.
Many kids here dont read enough it seems. Actually bomber squadron attacking Utah did just this. Their flight commander changed path and ordered Marauders below cloud level and fly parallel to beach so they can hit targets accurately.
Because this never happened. It is D-day dreamt by a 12 year old emercian boy with explosions, bunkers and casualties at 1300%
There are no dive bombers on d-day. Dauntless were not deployed in europe as they are navy planes and the navy aircraft carriers are either on Atlantic or pacific. It was the army air corps that supported the european theater .
@ 0:53 it's d -day or iwo jima?
The Allies wanted it to be that way, but it wasn't.

0:02 bro get “death from above” award in war thunder 💀
.50cal sounds from the MG42, noice
Lol
Tho there were a good amount of MG-42s without that ultra fast cyclic rate of fire - reaching firing rates of 400-600 rpm.
Germany a small country faced war for 6 years.......Hats off!!!!
They attacked their neighbors with the element of surprise during a period of "peace". Not impressed.
Where do I find the full movie 😊. This is amazing, I've seen this clip a few times.
Well this is a Korean movie, I've watched this already. And since Korea is part of the imperial japan before, Korean conscription is possible. It's part of Japan's national mobilization law in WW2.
I can't believe the huge budget of this movie I've never heard of
computers dosnt cost much,,
You realize both sides were terrified and fighting for their lives war is hell
Fun scene! Besides the bombers IRL almost entirely overshooting due to FF concerns… I don’t understand wtf sounds they chose for the mg42’s. Sounds like something between a vickers and an M-60
Wow actual footage of the battle amazingly accurate
D-Day, from the "Axis" perspective:
"Don't shoot! We're Czech!"
"What did he say to those Americans, to make them shoot?"
"Hell if I know! I'm Korean!"
