Apple bought beats to develop their AirPods AirPods Pro and AirMax earphones they took basically the team from beats and got them 2 develop their products. Beats was not a buy for fashion or revenue it was because of their tech and understanding in field this is why AirPods are so iconic. My humble opinion
I've never kept a pair of earphones for over 3 months but in 2015 I bought a pair of beats earphones , I used them for over 4 years until their demise. So I will always go back to beats.
By the way, I appreciate you dr.dre. I really grew up since my 20s on your music and videos from the early years with n.w.a. and death row records.and then aftermath. You think Beats are expensive? That price is known as budget in audiophile land. Also just get Beyerdynamic headphones they will last years guaranteed.
Seeing as most people in these comments have a poor understanding of marketing hype and trends, I’ll break it down for you! The quality is not the greatest, but yet the price point is still high, so how do they sell? Well it’s simple really: People want what others have. If you see all of your favorites artists and athletes wearing the same headphones....guess what....the average consumer will want to wear them too. It’s how our society is. I could go on more about how these Beats became so successful. Everyone in these comments hating has never successfully sold a consumer product and it shows. Stay broke.
Also, before you attack me in the comments. Let me ask you this. Which Nike shoes have you bought in the past year? Which Apple product have you bought in the last year? Hahah see how easy it is? To the average consumer, the nicest quality does not always equal the best style/fashion. Gosh you boomers embarrass me.
I actually got the beats studio 3 as a gift and i liked the sleek design. I think i would have rather have other headphones if they didn't look so ugly. I feel im still looking for a sophisticated looking headphones.
Idk why people are complaining in the comments. Wearing studio 3s right now. I’ve had these for a year and they’re fine. Sure, some stains (it’s black and gold.) But it’s good. Sound quality is amazing and the durability is nice. It’s definitely worth the price.
man I had one of these headphones when they came and they haven't changed one bit and they are everything other than quality audio or quality build so I'm not sure what this luke wood is smoking to say that
I understand the hype over Beats, but I tries one once and i feel like it's gonna break over my big head. My friend bought into the hype, and she utterly disappointed with the quality. For mid-range with good bass noise cancelling, I think Sony is adequate.
It is truly great audio drivers with a stylish exterior. This company was ahead of the game. Thinking how you will be viewed with your technology on your head and solved it with style.
No hating, Dre a puppet of the industry. He gets everything he wants as long as he does what they want him to do. Question answered with Higher consciousness!
Maaaaaaan I was just thinking this, I made a comment about me using headphones before iPods and Beats came out, I used to use the Sony Walkmans with the headphones, gotta love the 90's. And Aiwa Cassette player with the equalizer on the front, and sometimes Craig, flashback. And they weren't cheap either, almost $100. But I would pocket them if ya get my drift.
That was probably Apple's plan to begin with, which was to get rid of their competition either by outselling them or buying them and since they were able to acquire Beats I believe getting rid of the brand is up to Apple due to them now owning the company (it appears that might slowly phase out the brand unless sales change and that can't happen without them marketing the brand). Apple is basically, like Amazon, EA, Activision and Microsoft (Apple buys companies, which leads to them disbanding them or barely using them, etc). Beats are really lagging behind technology wise similar to Apple as a whole in the PC, cellphone and headphones sector, and this is coming from a guy that has own the high and low end products regarding beats before and after the Apple acquisition. Moreover, the material around the headphones starts to deteriorate after awhile (several months to a year in some cases without being abusive). In addition, the sound tends to be no better than Apple's old pack in iPhone headphones. The creative side was the multiple colors, logo and having Dr. Dre attached because people eat up famous people BS. The high price just made people believe the brand was special, and this tend to be the method with most brands that are hundreds or thousands of dollars but cost less than $100 to make. On the other hand, Dr. Dre should have learned to do math because it didn't make him a billionaire to this day where Jay-Z, Kanye West and others, such as P Diddy or Puff Daddy or whatever he calls himself these days have approached or are quickly approaching the B club.
I remember when Monster was still making beats they were straight up garbage. Years later when I was in the market for new headphones, I had my eye on the Momentum headphones by Sennheiser. I went to Best Buy where they had them on display and I actually chose the beats Solo 3 in matte black over the Sennheisers. I was surprised how they sounded pretty much identical. The only difference was the look of them which I liked how the beats looked more modern.
I will admit I have bought beats in the past. I think they are actually a good product. Personally I own the Powerbeats pro and solo pros and I like them. But that price really don’t make sense.
apple knows just like ever other product the key is people will spend for upgrades and the latest , as long as stuff are being made sleek n kool people will buy even if they dont need it .. style is the main factor and we the consumers wont stop .. there are some who will complain but still buy the same product .. the complains will then be heard by the company once its alot and then boom upgrade again using the consumers problems are a marketing strategy to sell more ... one must take note to be successful you must keep releasing something cause if you don't someone else will... its like jordans if they were to release 10 different version of a jordan at once and give it a name like special editions while all the sneakers was built using the same platform but end result is shown with otter design , all will sell out cause they will keep the number to low so people will think if they dont get it they never will...
I'm only halfway thru the video and there's a few wrong things, the studios were the first beats headphone (not “monster beats") and were the first beats headphone to feature active noise cancelling, not the executives like the video says
Apple bought it and did a giveaway to college students. They dont have anything new beside the 3rd gen headphones from 3 years ago. the pro is the newest model but nothing else.
I found some Beats Tour wired for $14 at a thrift store.... the morale is I would NEVER pay full price for this, since is mostly about a fake image for pretenders as opposed to technical quality
so to summarize this video, beats are all about the design looks and and brand name, they focus on marketing and getting celebs to endorse the brand. in reality their audio quality comfort and build quality are subpar and they are very bad value for their price, so you better get headphones\earphones from brands like Sennheiser, Shure, Sony, Bose etc if you care for the things that really matters and not which famous person wore\wears the brand.
So are y’all done hating on beats? They are good looking headphones quality and have good sound for what I use them for. they said it’s a fashion AirPod pros are also trash but I don’t see anyone hating on then same with normal AirPods o wait ik why it’s because tik tok made them cool y’all need to calm down and realize they are all still headphones
Apple are Beats’s biggest downfall. They bought the company for the streaming service alone, and had almost no intention of growing the headphone line. Since the acquisition, they’ve done little to nothing with the headphone line(barely any marketing, innovative designs/colours) what was once an icon in pop culture is now almost dated. A real shame considering there is still so much potential there, but by the looks of it, Apple only intends on pushing their own line of headphones.
I feel that beats are not good however I feel they are getting better. The Powerbeats pro and solo pro are very good headphones in my opinion. So I think they are getting better even though past headphones are not good.
I’ve owned Bose, Sony, and Sennheiser headphones and ear buds... I will never own a pair of beats or air pods, i have tried out both and the sound quality is just awful compared to true audio brands, to me it’s about audio quality.. not how the headphones match my shoes .. but I guess that’s just me 🤷♂️
Proof that Marketing > Quality Any real audiophile know that Beats are Trash. BUT THEM COLOURS!! I only expect kids to wear them, or fitness instagram girls. I am pretty sure it won't cancel out a car coming towards you, my AirPods pro doesn't do that. It only cancels important things. Also who would turn it on while just walking you turn it on when you sit down, in a car, on the bus, or anything where you can just relax.
Only for you sir genius Dr Dre I would even go on such a channel you very motivational and inspiring. Thank you for doing what you do.
I'm not a huge hiphop person, but you are the sound track to a chapter of my life. You are a genius when it comes to music, and you'll go down in history as that,a genius. God bless you Dr. Dre. Take care.
i still cant belive that all tech devices i own now are from the same time frame as when wood and dre conceived the idea of beats....life is tough
You should also mention how their product at their price point is ridiculously bad compared to other brands...
@@Tepera yo man fair point but u might be a little aggressive here to these ppl
Taufik Ahmed Niloy hahah true man
you think headphones started in 2008? the Walkman wants a word with you~
Lol exactly, if you can find my other comment, I mention that too.
Congrats to Dre and others but You could find headphones at 1/3rd the price that were exceptionally better than anything beats offered.
I actually got the beats studio 3 as a gift and i liked the sleek design. I think i would have rather have other headphones if they didn't look so ugly. I feel im still looking for a sophisticated looking headphones.
Because they are affordable headphones for people who don’t need high end headphones for mixing
beats are not very affordable they sell headphones at 150 to 450 dollars and have the quality of sub 100 dollar headphones
Noah P That’s why I said don’t need high end for mixing
beats are not affordable as long as when other companies offer far better products at the same price range
Shane Viola They must have upped the price. I got a new pair for $80 in 2015
Idk why people are complaining in the comments. Wearing studio 3s right now. I’ve had these for a year and they’re fine. Sure, some stains (it’s black and gold.) But it’s good. Sound quality is amazing and the durability is nice. It’s definitely worth the price.
The origins of Beats is fascinating. Though I have yet to use one because they're so dang expensive.
man I had one of these headphones when they came and they haven't changed one bit and they are everything other than quality audio or quality build so I'm not sure what this luke wood is smoking to say that
I understand the hype over Beats, but I tries one once and i feel like it's gonna break over my big head.
I'd rather not wear headphones 24/7. I'd rather be able able to hear when I'm older.
JBL cost $20 and the sound is amazing! I'm happy with that!
No hating, Dre a puppet of the industry. He gets everything he wants as long as he does what they want him to do. Question answered with Higher consciousness!
Never ever thought of buying a pair of these :)
I lovey Sennheiser
That's why every time a celebrity endorses anyting I don't deal with it because it's either trash or becomes trash after a while
Whoever made this video apparently was too young to remember the Sony Walkman...
What bothers me is that they barely cost 20$ to produce yet they're sold for 10 to 20 times that
Just like any other Apple product.
It’s not about how much the cost to make it’s more about the production paying workers and also the disine process u can’t forget about all of that
I will admit I have bought beats in the past. I think they are actually a good product. Personally I own the Powerbeats pro and solo pros and I like them. But that price really don’t make sense.
HankTheBank 01 agreed, but after my studio3’s im switching to sony or bose
I have AirPods 2, powerbeats pro, and 2009 beats pro red still works I keep them safe not broken
Beats made money by getting a celebrity to endorse something that breaks every few weeks so you buy a new one each month.
I'm watching this video while wearing my Beats headphones and the other one is charging. I love them. can't wait to but a third pair.
apple knows just like ever other product the key is people will spend for upgrades and the latest , as long as stuff are being made sleek n kool people will buy even if they dont need it .. style is the main factor and we the consumers wont stop .. there are some who will complain but still buy the same product .. the complains will then be heard by the company once its alot and then boom upgrade again using the consumers problems are a marketing strategy to sell more ... one must take note to be successful you must keep releasing something cause if you don't someone else will... its like jordans if they were to release 10 different version of a jordan at once and give it a name like special editions while all the sneakers was built using the same platform but end result is shown with otter design , all will sell out cause they will keep the number to low so people will think if they dont get it they never will...
I'm only halfway thru the video and there's a few wrong things, the studios were the first beats headphone (not “monster beats") and were the first beats headphone to feature active noise cancelling, not the executives like the video says
Since Beats came out in 2012 i have owned Nine pairs of beats headphones i love headphones of music
$30 headphones vs $300 headphones I stick with my 30 they work just as good and sound almost the same.
Alex Contreras yea but u can’t have those on for more then 2 hours😂
Apple bought it and did a giveaway to college students. They dont have anything new beside the 3rd gen headphones from 3 years ago. the pro is the newest model but nothing else.
CoffeeSpiller all there is new is the Solo Pro and some new powerbeats model
lol i was already using headphones for my stereo system in the 70s before the walkman. Same thing for a lot of other kids
I found some Beats Tour wired for $14 at a thrift store.... the morale is I would NEVER pay full price for this, since is mostly about a fake image for pretenders as opposed to technical quality
so to summarize this video, beats are all about the design looks and and brand name, they focus on marketing and getting celebs to endorse the brand.
in reality their audio quality comfort and build quality are subpar and they are very bad value for their price, so you better get headphones\earphones from brands like Sennheiser, Shure, Sony, Bose etc if you care for the things that really matters and not which famous person wore\wears the brand.
aieaieaie y'a des sonorités de ouf , propre à mort !
Depuis peu je mets une isntru par semaine sur ma chaîne dis moi ce que t'en penses
I’m thinking of buying high quality headphones. Bose or Sony?
I bought the sony
So are y’all done hating on beats? They are good looking headphones quality and have good sound for what I use them for. they said it’s a fashion AirPod pros are also trash but I don’t see anyone hating on then same with normal AirPods o wait ik why it’s because tik tok made them cool y’all need to calm down and realize they are all still headphones
They're presenting it like there weren't any over ear headphones before Dr. Dre came up with the idea!!
Well I mean Beats are just like flagship phones and every Apple product. "Ay boiz look i got munaaay 💵💵💵 burnin hole in mah poket! 🔥🔥🔥"
My brother has a pill speaker... he bought it in 2012...he still plays music in it..
Not gonna lie, Beats delivers the best sound quality I've experienced so far
so you only experienced beats then
Do Make more videos like this. It was a good video
I'm pretty sure Dre use much better earphones when producing music in his studio..
or Jay Z is wearing much luxurious clothes than Rocawear..
It was all about fashion for me at the Gym with those headphones. However, the minute AirPods came out I instantly dropped beats ....
From trash to another trash.
Beats are not trash why do people say that
@@wyattscheerer6469 they are for the price, u can get much better for the price, and cheaper for the same, thats why
Glad I’m older and not into impressing people, and glad I’ve never contributed to this brand.
Me too
I feel that beats are not good however I feel they are getting better. The Powerbeats pro and solo pro are very good headphones in my opinion. So I think they are getting better even though past headphones are not good.
me with my left earbud not working and a snapped wire: nice
I’ve owned Bose, Sony, and Sennheiser headphones and ear buds... I will never own a pair of beats or air pods, i have tried out both and the sound quality is just awful compared to true audio brands, to me it’s about audio quality.. not how the headphones match my shoes .. but I guess that’s just me 🤷♂️
How Beats By Dre Became A Multi-Billion Dollar Brand? .... Dre made sonically amazing records ... that's it!
I've watched endless reviews and not all beats are bad.
This is not correct, i had walkmans with headphones, what does that have to do with apple and the mp3 ???
there are many headphones that are better, lighter, more comfortable while cheaper than beats
Proof that
Marketing > Quality
Any real audiophile know that Beats are Trash. BUT THEM COLOURS!!
I only expect kids to wear them, or fitness instagram girls.
I actually have the Beats Solo's 2, Solo 3's, Studios, UrBeats, all given to me by my workplace. All pale to my ATH-M50x, my Senn's, even my Plant BackBeat Pro.
That being said, the BEATS earbuds that came with my old HTC M7 phone were SWEET!
I bought Beats back in 2019 and i don’t regret them as I like their design and the sound is great for me :)
The padding came off and the bluetooth function isn't working anymore after a year and i haven't used it for working out 2\10 don't recommend. It's a good style choice for someone going through puberty
Haters can hate, but 3 billion dollars is 3 billion dollars.
Dr.dre don’t age.. 😳
Completely skipped over how the Walkman carved out a consumer headphone niche that has endured and paved the way for Beats by Dre. If anything this turned headphones into a fashion statement
Yep, journalists with no clue to do research...
Beats are trash. I didn't realize it until I tried Bose headphones. Their hype all stemmed from great marketing and then they sold at their peak to Apple.
They're pretty good now, like beats solo pro and powerbeats bro
Yes they are good
It all have to do with marketing. They are headphones that cost under $100, that sounds just as good, or better then beats.
