IIITs have such a high package beacuse there are only CSE , IT and ECE branches in them and these branches do get a very decent placement package while on the other hand top IITs median package is low because there are many branches in them. The average placement of CSE and ECE branches of top IITs are also similar to those of top IIITs but top IITs also provide a lot more exposure.

They never claim that; we just frame VIT Vellore and call it a bad college; research culture at VIT Vellore is actually amazing. Opportunities are amazing too; you're told to do so many projects that you're well versed with your subject. Cat1 and max Cat2 CSE at VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai is totally worth it.
I think DTU n NSUT have a really good placement opportunities considering the fact that they offer a vast variety of core branches unlike IIITs and also have a huge number of tech branch students for placement. These 2 factors lowers the median value still they managed to be in top 30 colleges placement wise is impressive to say the least.

I guess the only impt parameters in nirf college rankings are: Graduation outcome (placement) Peer perception (brand and reputation) I am not including teaching outcomes cause except iiits most govt college would be easily placed behind pvt colleges
BtW this ranking is also not that acurate IIIt's only have branches like cse and it so how their median can be directly compared to the median of IIt's have huge no. Of core branches with lower package which effect the overall median package. Instead they should try to provide a list based on important parameters in which placement would be a critaria not the soul of the list

Good luck bro, you are very brave and daring to sacrifice every kind of college life just for money, hope I had that confidence like you. Also remember you will be taught the things right from start that IITs teach from 2nd year, so it will be a lot of workload to cope up with.
My friend is studying in IIIT Allahabad. According to him the College is very good. Yes the work load is on the higher side but it is manageable. You do get time for other activities also. Curriculum in IIITs is regularly updated so you will enjoy studying also. By the way I also wanted to get into IIIT Allahabad but I was getting ECE in it so I skipped it.

Well, technically IIITs are not "engineering colleges" considering it focuses on IT and CS (which shouldn't be even called engineering).... It's only in India and very few countries that we consider Computer Science as engineering (which is basically a domain of its own) and name it as CSE. The NIRF has focused more on "the engineering colleges" which have a large pool of engineering domains over IIITs or any institute that focuses purely on certain niche like CS, IT, ECE or any other.... But that being said NIRF rankings or any such rankings are kinda useless .

at par isn't correct, but there are other teachers doing the opposite and undervaluing this paper. I've seen many predictions and all, I think ATP Star Kota was more or less correct and the closest. Like, last year 120 marks gave 4200 rank, this year it may be 4500-5500.

Research culture at VIT Vellore is actually very good. I'm not promoting VIT, I'm won't be licking their ass. VIT as a college has a holistic environment. There are many people who do very well in VIT and utilise the resources there to produce extraordinary results in life. It's just that no one wishes to acknowledge them. People talk shameful things about VIT by making up their own reasons, don't listen to anyone. Talk to real students at different colleges and then make a decision. If you are getting CSE (core) in VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai in Cat1 or Cat2 under merit through VITEEE, you should definitely go for it if you don't have ECE/CSE in NIT/BITS or a seat in top 7 IITs in your hand.

At the very worst case scenario like coaching me bekaar padha rahe kaafi offline waale me then only go for online(drop year hai bhai isliye keh raha), aur bhai online me bhi paid course join kar, o-toobe se karega fir 11th 12th ke tarah nikal jayega. Aur alag alag jagah se mat kario. Eduniti bhi karunga , mathongo bhi karunga aur maths ke liye mohit tyagi kar leta hun. Naa naa. Koi ek jagah full scheduled online batch for complete mains + advanced. Mai toh kahunga 100% offline join kar, even agar offline me teacher thode se kam experienced hai(thode se matlab ki advanced ka content aata ho but padhane ka style utna mast na ho). Aur worst case scenario jisme bilkul hi teacher nahi acche hai then only “a complete online paid and scheduled batch for mains+ advanced” like Unacademy plus or mohit tyagi paid batch or pw prayas batch. My personal preference: prayas batch. Aur jab mains me ek mahine baaki honge aur schedule hectic nahi hua(jo ki posssible nahi hai) toh mathongo ki test series join karlio(no doubt one of the most relevant test series in the market). Baaki bhai schedule banana aur follow karne me utna hi similarity hai jitna dasvi me iit bombay ke sapne dekhna aur 12th me iit bombay ke sapne dekhne me hai.
I would say yes coz median bhi itna kharab nahi hai considering biotech wagerah ka bhi included hoga and i guess infra is good too along with the fact that it's pretty old established college so alumni network must be great too. I say fees is probably the only con, so it's justified in my opinion.

My friend is studying in IIIT Allahabad. According to him the College is very good. Yes the work load is on the higher side but it is manageable. You do get time for other activities also. Curriculum in IIITs is regularly updated so you will enjoy studying also. By the way I also wanted to get into IIIT Allahabad but I was getting ECE in it so I skipped it.

Well, technically IIITs are not "engineering colleges" considering it focuses on IT and CS (which shouldn't be even called engineering).... It's only in India and very few countries that we consider Computer Science as engineering (which is basically a domain of its own) and name it as CSE. The NIRF has focused more on "the engineering colleges" which have a large pool of engineering domains over IIITs or any institute that focuses purely on certain niche like CS, IT, ECE or any other....
But that being said NIRF rankings or any such rankings are kinda useless .
But IIITs in its name have iformation technology so why would they focus non tech branches?

at par isn't correct, but there are other teachers doing the opposite and undervaluing this paper. I've seen many predictions and all, I think ATP Star Kota was more or less correct and the closest. Like, last year 120 marks gave 4200 rank, this year it may be 4500-5500.

NIRF ranking and Placement rankings are not in agreement. NIRF marking parameters should have more weightage of, on-campus placements.
Bits pilani cs/ Nit trichy cs/Iiit Hyderabad cs. I m from up... Placement is top priority... But i want good exposure to other things as well and money is a issue.

Research culture at VIT Vellore is actually very good. I'm not promoting VIT, I'm won't be licking their ass. VIT as a college has a holistic environment. There are many people who do very well in VIT and utilise the resources there to produce extraordinary results in life. It's just that no one wishes to acknowledge them. People talk shameful things about VIT by making up their own reasons, don't listen to anyone. Talk to real students at different colleges and then make a decision.
If you are getting CSE (core) in VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai in Cat1 or Cat2 under merit through VITEEE, you should definitely go for it if you don't have ECE/CSE in NIT/BITS or a seat in top 7 IITs in your hand.

At the very worst case scenario like coaching me bekaar padha rahe kaafi offline waale me then only go for online(drop year hai bhai isliye keh raha), aur bhai online me bhi paid course join kar, o-toobe se karega fir 11th 12th ke tarah nikal jayega. Aur alag alag jagah se mat kario. Eduniti bhi karunga , mathongo bhi karunga aur maths ke liye mohit tyagi kar leta hun. Naa naa. Koi ek jagah full scheduled online batch for complete mains + advanced. Mai toh kahunga 100% offline join kar, even agar offline me teacher thode se kam experienced hai(thode se matlab ki advanced ka content aata ho but padhane ka style utna mast na ho). Aur worst case scenario jisme bilkul hi teacher nahi acche hai then only “a complete online paid and scheduled batch for mains+ advanced” like Unacademy plus or mohit tyagi paid batch or pw prayas batch. My personal preference: prayas batch. Aur jab mains me ek mahine baaki honge aur schedule hectic nahi hua(jo ki posssible nahi hai) toh mathongo ki test series join karlio(no doubt one of the most relevant test series in the market). Baaki bhai schedule banana aur follow karne me utna hi similarity hai jitna dasvi me iit bombay ke sapne dekhna aur 12th me iit bombay ke sapne dekhne me hai.

I would say yes coz median bhi itna kharab nahi hai considering biotech wagerah ka bhi included hoga and i guess infra is good too along with the fact that it's pretty old established college so alumni network must be great too. I say fees is probably the only con, so it's justified in my opinion.
