Nice video, my Giulietta is 14 years old and has done nearly 200,000 km. Ive had it from new and it has the 1.4 170bhp multi air engine, fantastic engine - so much fun. Very reliable, though had to get a new multiair unit last year. I love it and as modern cars get uglier the Giulietta really stands out on the road. Now seeing them being driven by young people too.
Thanks, I totally agree with you. I could be driving down the road, I would see another Giulietta, and I would think "what a good looking car". The design is still relevant, they did a great job
I live in Dubai and bought a brand new Giulietta 1.4 MA 170hp 2014. Have it for 11 years now and it’s still our daily. Have clocked 185000kms. We have extreme heat climate so I change oil every 7000kms. Note my car is tuned, upgrades FMIC, DP and ulter exhaust. Car never missed a beat. Replace plugs every 25000 kms. Only problems I have had in 11 years is broken rear door handle, radiator leak and Aircon acts strange at times. TCT gearbox n clutch is perfect as day one. Giulietta are super reliable.
I have a Giulietta from 2011, with 1,4 MA and now around 280tkm on the clock. Bought it in the spring and have been so pleased with the car. Change the oil around 10 tkm and clean the MA filter at the same time. Really great car to drive, looks good, and has that something in it which makes it feel special. I've converted mine to run on E85 if I want to, works great. LPG would be really nice, but here the conversion is really expensive. Would probably be cheaper to drive to your country if it only costs around 500e there.
@@arcgarage yea gotta agree with that :/ But recently upgraded my seats to the QV version that rlly does a interior upgrade. For the rest u could install alcantara
So I had my 1.4 170 hp MA for about 2 months now and can also share a few things. Being 186 cm tall I gotta say that I find the throttle pedal to be atrocious. There's no position for the seat where I can drive comfortably for more than 50 km's. It forces an unnatural position of the leg on the pedal. Fuel flap as you mentioned, loose and doesn't open by pressing it. For me it only opens when you point at it with the key and open it by pressing the unlock button on the key. After that it opens normally for some time. As for the tires I have fulda sports 4 225/50 17". I don't know if it's the tires or the rear suspension but when you ride over a pit or a manhole whole rear twitches/shakes. Bought it with unoperational blue&me module, which I of course didn't check. Battery has to be one that supports start & stop system which is automatically more expensive than the normal ones. I think AC takes very long time to get going fully. Now I don't want to hate on the Giulietta but switching over from 2001 Twin Spark Alfa 156 I have a very mixed feelings. I want to love this car but at the same time it has so many little stupid problems that stack up and tire you. I wish I took better care of my 156.
In general, I agree with you regarding all Alfa Romeo cars. At least the most basic models, the top ones, like other brands, require more expensive and specialized maintenance, see BMW or Mercedes, which literally go bankrupt if you don't invest a fortune in maintenance and only at official dealerships. For my part, I have enjoyed Alfas, although I have had several other basic brands (Renault, Seat, Opel) for thirty years and this one in particular has always been more enjoyable for me and the problems, every day, are more common in all brands. The Julietta is undoubtedly a great car, for service and within it, undoubtedly the enjoyment. Good review, as always, friend, if I had to buy one, it would undoubtedly be another Alfa, maybe even a Julietta, thanks to you 😉.
Thank you my friend, I agree with you completely. I've owned many brands but Alfa is special. When it comes to maintenance, manufacturers are purposefully making them more complex, and in the end it costs significantly more money just to keep them on the road.
I ended up with Alfa MiTo T-JET 114kW as our daily new-esh practical car. I think it's a good buy for the money: the engine, brakes and surprisingly interior space especially in the front are all strong points of this car. I still have two issues with it I can't find the solution for though: "axial" vibrations through the whole car when I accelerate hard and cold engine won't ever start at first attempt, I also think it hesitates on the throttle a bit. Other than that engine with performance ECU chip is pretty powerful. For the vibrations I did put new Continental tires, both CV shafts, engine and rear transmission reaction mounts, gearbox rehaul with new bearings, one front wheel bearing. It's better now for sure but the vibrations in acceleration are still there. For the bad cold starts I did put new spark plugs and very strong new Odyssey car battery, it's also better, but not fixed yet. Next step here new ignition coils - one day the car started to run on 3 cylinders only.
I thought so, that's why I changed both complete CV shafts with joints included recently. I assume joints on those should be fine as it is new... but who knows of course :( Only next thing I can think about is older front transmission rubber mount (but still in a decent shape), or maybe it has something to do with Eibach lowering springs with Koni shocks: car sits pretty low so CV shafts go from the transmission "up" to the wheels, which is uncommon. But I think it shouldn't affect anything - when on normal coils it's what happens naturally when car is more loaded and goes on a bumpier road. Car is literally hard as rock on those Eibach springs, but on the other side it corners very sharply.
Pozdrav!
