I’ve been making it this way for years now and it never disappoints!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup castor sugar
⅓ cup water
2 tbsp salted butter
¾ cup fresh cream (warm)

Tip: never stir the sugar when melting it, stirring causes the to sugar to crystallize, so the caramel won't be smooth

@@ayeshamalik6196 melt the at a medium flame to avoid burning.
Add the butter when the sugar is light brown colour, it will darken after you add butter. So if you add the butter after the sugar is fully brown the sugar may burn.

You can add a little bit of salt but vanilla extract should be ok

@KsooTheRUclipsr if you mix 1/3 cup of melted butter with 2/3 cup of milk and whisk vigorously you can make cream and implement this into your caramel sauce

This is a really good recipe but it works better with brown sugar hope this helps
I read brown sugar makes butterscotch and white sugar makes caramel. I don’t know if that matters to people or not, but they taste different, so if they want caramel should probably stick to white sugar. 😊
@BClemons06 Thanks, but I feel white sugar is too sweet for me, but brown is nice and thick and creamy. I guess it's about opinion. You should try brown anyway, you might like it

adding little water is ok.. because eventually it will evaporate... those who are expert in cooking don't need to add water but since sugar burns very easily it's better to add water as it is more manageable

I have made caramel sauce and have left in the fridge for MONTHS!! It was as good at the 4th month mark, as the day I made it. I made a lot and poured it in my cold coffee. Do NOT throw it out after a week or so. It is still good.
If your jar is cold, it might crack when pouring hot caramel into it

Did you take it off the heat before adding the cream then turn on the heat again and cook it till the cream is fully mixed in? Now you're done.

Frick i cooked it like a chinese cook like eyeballing and stuff i got a literal sauce like texture so added in couple more spoons of sugar and turned out ok? Hahaha next time ill follow the instructions properly😂

If cooked properly, it will not stick to the pan. I just made some, it poured right out into my jar.

It should not crystallize. If it does, it was cooked too much or too hot. I made the best batch ever. Made again, and ruined it. 😏 I now cook it on a lower heat. My caramel tasted burnt. Made it today and it is good!

You probably could by letting the whip cream melt a bit. But, it might be a bit sugary.

No, I think the cream gives it what it needs to thicken and be creamy.

And you do not have to have it warm. I make it with cold butter and cold cream.

@@ginnysingh7937 it din’t i thought i will burn..so added some water and upon switching of gas it solidified. Everything was ruined .. added that to make cupcake and thrown the rest.. went to market and purchased the caramel sauce 😅
