- 'So how is it that contracting the ciliary muscles slackens the suspensory ligaments?' I hear you asking, (remotely, via the interweb). I hope I answer this and related q's.
This is the type of biology teacher everybody in the world needs!
your explanation of the contraction/relaxation of the muscle/ligament was so clear; I had read about this several times and couldn't work it out. Thank you.
how weird, i was just lying in the shade of a tree in the serengeti watching wildebeest, good luck to everyone doing their igcse tomorrow!
Тоомас Хансо classy English ha
Wait, really!? Or is it sarcasm?
there reallly was no need for that comment but ok
Found this today, but thank you,you helped me understand how the lens works with the objects which are far and close
youre the only person who has made me understand why the contracting slackens the suspensory ligaments thankyou so much
youre so clever
Really pleased it helped. Thanks for commenting!
Thank you soooooo much for doing these videos , much better than my teacher and my text book , they make everything simple and clear , unlike the textbook and my teachers.
BEST INFORMATION. I HAVE LIKED IT
I've never had so much fun learning
As a mature student, I had to get a C for biology when it wasn't one of my options at school. My work commitments meant that I had no choice but to self study and your videos have just been amazingly useful. Fingers crossed I did enough on paper 1 on Tuesday.
how did you get on?
this is really helpful for students like me who self study the triple course :)
dude my text book is nothing compared to this video of yours.TYSM!!!!
Thanks, very helpful explanation of how how the ciliary muscles work.
This explained it so much better that school
Thanks for the help
Thank you for this video. My concept is crystal clear.
All normal eyes, continously monitor micro-blur on the surface of the retina.
It is a superior feedback control system, with a time-constant of about 1/3 second.
Holy shit! I saw a wild beast outside my apartment while watching this video!

Shazia Nawaz Trying to get videos out as and when time allows. Also, you are the last year that will take F211, other than retakers, so we'll probably focus on the new syllabus from next year. There should be some F212,3 &4 videos that can help on the playlists. Hope that helps.

Hello Tom
I'm biology teacher too. I have a question. The ciliary muscles of a normal eye are in their most relaxed state as then the thickness of the lens increases, thus increasing focal length. So how you say the ciliary muscles are contracted when we look at near distance? 🤔 I think when we look at far distance then the ciliary muscles contracted
How the fk they know all of this shit?
Who else wanted to jump over while listening 🤓😋😜
