A big red flag, when a major corporation of any kind starts saying we're all a family, get out, run, get as far away from said company as possible!
“We are all a family…except you Gina Carano!”
I’ve never worked for a Fortune 500 company but I’ve heard this advice so many times.
"It all started with the fans."
Yeah, and it's gonna end because of us too.
Honestly this commercial is pathetically reaching. After they have spent years attacking the fans for not liking their sequel trilogy and garbage shows, now they want to pretend like we matter?! Bahaha nobody is buying it except the Filoni cult
Many of the hardcore fans have long since walked away and won’t be back….who can blame them? They had the audacity to say they didn’t like the sequel trilogy etc and were called racist/homophobe/sexist for their trouble. For some bizarre reason it appears that’s Disney’s “strategy” from the outset was to jettison these fans and cultivate a new audience that simply doesn’t exist in any meaningful numbers. Coupled with, for the most part, poor shows and films its no surprise viewing figures are only going one way and there’s little to no enthusiasm anymore…..basically Star Wars is chalked and it was killed by Disney’s stupidity and certain people’s ego.
@@howard7073 Exactly my thoughts behind the comment.
We made you, Mark "Corvette Summer" Hamill...we can also walk away and unmake you.
Disney has YET to make a profit from Star Wars. Imagine the incompetence necessary to make that a reality.
that’s only counting box office profits… I’m sure they’ve well covered it with merchandise licensing and such.
@@Sam_T2000 oh you mean like the Star Wars hotel that got shut down? yea they gotta be rolling in dough right now
@@offlineraided and the toys don't sell anymore

"May the 4th" is now just another day that corporations use for marketing. It's become so corny and cringe.
May the 4th was always a marketing thing. It was a manufactured thing. May the 4th was never an organic thing
always has been
May 4th is Dismal Disney Star Wars shill day, which is fake made up marketing bullshit by the marketing department at the house of mouse droppings.
George Lucas's Star Wars debuted in theatres on May 25th 1977.
Corny is fine, like someone says the bad joke on the day. It all spawned from a silly meme after all.
May the 4th has become N7 Day for Mass Effect fans. It's like remembering a friend who died on their birthday.
Didn't even know N7 day was a thing. Till your comment
@@mbob4337 and now you do. Look it up, see what you've missed.
I was 10 yrs old on May 25th 1977 when i attended the premier in hollywood. left wanting to be a stormtrooper, in the year 2000, I became one and joined the 501st Legion. even got sag carded and worked many jobs for LFL as a stormtrooper, royal guard, imperial officer and bounty hunter/mandalorian side by side with the original stars we loved so much. they were my friends. It has been a major part of my life for nearly half a century!
Until disney... The day they forced a disney trademark on the 501st Legion, many of us knew then what was to become of the franchise.
Disney has destroyed what lived for decades. a living generation of fans, lost. an business ip utterly collapsed. at times seeming almost as if on purpose. May the 4th is nothing but a marketing ploy to us now. there is no spirit left.
@@MinillaOfficial I still have a large collection of original merch, and props.
also over the years of me working events as a stormtrooper I have had many fans actually send me trooper related items for my collection. both home made items and rare retail as well. from stormtrooper bowling balls to stormtrooper converse shoes lol. it has really been amazing.
You were so lucky to be that age at the time, I was barely born
i'm sorry for your loss. Disney has much to answer for.
I used to love nerding out with other SW fans on May 4th ...but that's over. That clip made me feel a little sick and retroactively naive and manipulated.
The moment Boo-Karen got more screen time than THE Mandalorian in the video I knew they learnt nothing and they will never stop forcing whaaaman villains on the audience as her-oes.
Also, that godawful Ahwoka show breaks canon even more than the sequels. The Acolyte glorifies the villains and the showrunner doesn´t see it as a bad thing. Pissney still decided to include both of those dumpsterfires in the video.
There is no chance SW will be any good under the current leadership. They are so narciss!stic and psych0pathic they genuinely can´t make anything good and wholesome. It would be like to ask Ted Bundy to create something good and wholesome. These people, and I use this term losely here, are biologically incapable of that.
Yep never again it's over (and Mark Hamill just sucks)
I felt the same way in 1983 when George Lucas ruined the franchise with a stupid movie made for children.
@@ichigen511 Absolutely agreed 💯👍
May the Farce be with them... because that's what the modern SW franchise has become.
Yo George Lucas ruined the franchise in 1983 with Revenge, oops retcon I mean, Return of the Jedi and the incestual twins. You probably think Greedo shot first. LMFAO SMH.
@@ichigen511 But have you experienced the magical time when Star Wars first came out in theaters back in the summer of 1977? If not, then it's pointless to defend a feminazi-infected SW that has become totally bereft from great storytelling. And about those incestuous twins you're cracking a joke about, SW was meant to be an operatic-style sci-fi story about secret siblings being kept protected from a father who became DV so they can survive the deadly influence of the Dark Side that their father had fallen weak to and fight against the GE when they grew older. That's what made SW a classic. And besides. those Ewoks in SW III in 1983 were adorable! 🐻
The first time I heard of "May The 4th" I thought it was a stupid idea.
Hasn't changed.
Star Wars feels like an ex-wife. I used to love it, now I don’t want to be reminded it even exists anymore. I will never again knowingly spend my money on Disney products, and will probably shit talk the company for the rest of my life.
man, giving my ex zero money . nada
Perfect metaphor!
Maybe it's because I've gotten so jaded on Star Wars/Disney, but that sequence felt so full of itself. It brought back memories of Gal Gadot singing imagine with all her celebrity friends.
I was just cringing at the thought of that celeb song cover....weird
It used to be a fun day, now its just another day.
Anybody else find Disney Star Wars fandom creepy?
Yep. Only evil people can idolize evil pseudocharacters like Bo-Tox-Karen and find toxic ships like Reylo romantic.
Yah because of the toxic positive nature like its wired Star Wars fans are famous for there obbison but like the Disney defenders it's just creepy like there entier ethos is because you say like you Star Wars you must love everything Disney dose with Star Wars or you racist and you don't actually love Star Wars and that's just unhealthy like you can love something and not love everything about it hell that's what normal people do but Disney fans what ever property Disney owns that they love it's there WHOLE existence which yah is creppy
As an aside I'm sure some don't even like the thing there just afraid to not like thing because say what you will about Disney they were brilliant for taking the few actual racist homophobic ass holes as paint for all detractors which is damn good social pressure for people to buy your product
Feels like a cult.
Cultish I'd call it.
I watched The Empire Strikes Back again yesterday and ended up in tears. Wow, such a great movie. Every single scene, shot, line of dialogue and acting is perfect. Even Peter Mayhew (Chewy) and David Prowse (Vader) conveyed so much in every scene, despite not being able to see their faces. Just the physical performances told the story. The Hoth battle was epic and perfectly edited to make it frightening, the desperate defenders being just overwhelmed by the Empire. Leia directing her troops til the end and having to be almost dragged out by Han. The scenes on Dagobah, the interactions between Luke and Yoda, Yoda's wise words and trying to teach Luke to resist negative emotions was all powerful and meaningful. The final fight between Luke and Vader told a story, from Vader being almost casual, fighting one handed, dismissively, he doesn't respect Luke. Luke, wailing away at Vader, full of determination to avenge his father's death, but lacking in experience and ability. He gets a shot in on Vader, and Vader gets angry, the other hand moves to the grip, now he's serious, and mad. He unleashes the Force to show his full power, using the Force to pummel Luke before the window shatters and Luke, badly injured, is sucked out. Luke rescues himself from certain death to face Vader once more. Now for the show down. Both fight to win, Vader violently smashing posts left and right, Luke dodges and gets a strike in on Vader's arm, Vader grunts in pain, returns attack and violently cuts Luke's arm off. With the fight effectively over, and Luke backed up with nowhere to go, Vader could easily finish him, but once more appeals to him, this time not to join the Emperor, but defeat him, revealing that HE is actually Luke's father, and wants the two of them to kill the Emperor and rule the galaxy together.
My mind was fucking blown, AGAIN, watching it for the 50th time. Absolutely superb in every way, Williams' music matches and elevates every scene. The story is adult, beginning to end, not dumbed down for kids, just mature great storytelling that even teenagers can understand. 10/10. It's not even worth comparing to Disney Star Wars. It's just not even on the same level. It's a joke compared to Empire.
Can someone do me a TLDR please
@@blahmcblahface3965 read the whole thing it’s great :)
Bravo! I watched ESB again as part of the OT marathon today and also noticed during that duel the significance of Luke using the Force to bring his lightsaber back to himself at the carbonite (which of course he couldn’t do on Hoth but this is after his training with Yoda) and the part later when Vader is handing Luke’s arse to him the frame composition of Luke and Vader is similar to Luke’s vision in the cave on Dagobah, like he was going to fail again this time. Greatest duel in all of Star Wars, the 🐐
Did you notice that the Disney "May the 4th" show reel contained NO FOOTAGE from Kennedy's sequel films...NOT ONE SINGLE FRAME.
There was Kylo at the beginning, and Kathy is involved in the shows.
It’s a sad state when the latest tentpole movie pillars of a franchise are so despised that they have to hide behind their television spin-offs.
It included even worse stuff, like Boo-Karen and clips from the dumpsterfires Ahwoka and Darth Weinstein´s Acolyte.
@@drakeishere No, there was no Kylo. It was a cosplayer. A black guy. NOT a frame from the actual films.
@@Mouse_Metal True. But NOT my point. My point is that the sequels were not good enough, in SW eyes, to include them. The rumoured next film will be spun off a trilogy they'd rather forget happened. Madness.
The oldest millennials, like myself, were born in 81 and are currently 42/43. We grew up with the original trilogy the same as you guys.
Don't lump us in with Gen Z and Alpha!
See, the post war generation goes up to 1963, so I am pretty sure that gen X goes to 1983, the year I was born. In fact, May 4th is actually birthday, so I’m 41 today. Don’t lump me in with millennials. I have nothing in common with people born in 1995.
The original came out in 77 the last in 85. You didn’t grow up with them.
@@lindasmith320 Just because we didn't get to see them on their originalscreening it doesn't mean we missed the video release or the fact they were on TV every Christmas for years. That's still growing up with them because they were still at the top of popular culture throughout the 80's
@@lindasmith320 Return of the Jedi came out in '83, not '85. But you got the point. He didn't grow up with them.
@@swervbe By that merit everyone grew up with the original trilogy.
It's okay to let franchises go. They still exist from the period of time when they were good.
How can anyone hate on Star Wars?
All three films are amazing
Yup.
Thank God they only made three of them.
Disney star wars fans ain't star wars fans
Most certainly true.
@@MinillaOfficialI don't hate it I'm just indifferent to it. I feel like all the new content was unnecessary and we had so much good expanded universe content for years and years that Disney just threw out.
Actually true Star Wars fans hated Star Wars in 1983 when George Lucas through his I.P. into the toilet. You probably think Greedo shot first. I was there in the beginning. I saw it all. I saw it all get flushed down the toilet. The fact is is that Disney is continuing on with the George Lucas trope of making things up as you go along and retconning literally EVERYTHING. You're just made because Disney has actually made many things BETTER than George Lucas ever could. Andor anyone? The best Star Wars since 1980 is Andor. No argument is possible against this truth. Thanks Disney! Glad George Lucas has retired and can't sink his own I/P. further into the shitter than he already did. Thank fucking God.
They are still pushing Bo-Tox-Karen, the villain who keeps failing upwards, Weinstein´s Acolyte and that awful canon-breaking mess Ahwoka show on the audience.
They learnt NOTHING.
I live on my 1977-1983 memories...😢
Oh you have amnesia I'm so sorry for you

I used to wish everyone a happy may the 4th , but I just can’t do it anymore! 🤦🏻♂️
This year, we just sent Star Trek mixed up with Star Wars memes.
I was more entertained by the Pizza Hut promotion than anything from current Star Wars
My thoughts exactly. I don’t care anymore. May the 4th be replaced with International Flop Awareness Day.
May the 4th started as a dorky pun, became a fun mini holiday, now it is a worn out meme.
Star Wars fans in a word: Gone.
I'm seeing them all 6 at the cinema this week end, you know, the good ones, before the dark times.
All 6 films in one sitting?
Oh, so you're giving money to the Disney which ruined it all and hates you?
Watch them at home.
The prequels were not good. There have been two, maybe three good films.
@@rigell2764 Well that's like just your opinion, man.
Ugh that Anniversary video made me physically ill from the cheese factor and blatant hypocrisy 🤢
Hey Lucasfilm, we haven't just magically forgotten the numerous times you've berated the fans calling us racist, sexist, mysoginistic, intolerant, childish and many many other derogatory names.
Our memories are LONG. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
They even shoehorned Bo-Tox-Karen multiple times to remind me why they called me these buzzwords with no real meaning.
They focused so much on their D+ shows, trying to desperatly associate them with the GL era Star Wars, and all it did for me was highlight the baiting & blaming of fans for their failure. And don't think fans missed that the only reference to the sequel trilogy was from cosplayers. As if to say 'see, people like them!' Right, sure they do. That's got to be why Star Wars Celebrations are shadows of what they once were...
Call me whatever you want. I'll call you Broke, Disney.
The words 'too little, too late' comes to mind seeing this obvious propaganda.
Not to mention, it's insulting they think so little of us to believe something like _this_ will make us come back.
@@aulvinduergard9952 Insulting Star Wars fans while pretending to indulge (i.e. rip off) them... that's all they have left. I will always cherish the original three films and remain glad I have not given a single penny to the franchise in over a decade.
I am literally the founder of the first May 4 Star Wars Day party in the world in 2011 and im not even doing one this year.
I'm a white straight male. Disney has made it very clear they do not want my kind to be a part of the fandom. For 40 years I loved Star Wars. Let the past die - just like they said.
Star wars already die when George Lucas sold it to Disney activist
Didn't they tell us that Star Wars fans were the most toxic ones of all? No thank you Disney, I'm good.
Taking my son to see The Phantom Menace tomorrow. I never imagined 25 years ago that I would be taking my son to see it in the same theater
You are fortunate. Both theaters I saw it at in '99 have since been converted to a fitness center and torn down, respectively.
Wow, that was the most corporate thing ever.
This felt like the Christmas special.
Don't forget the Ewok movies.
has there been any property that belongs to Gen X that hasn't been destroyed?
"Back to the Future", precisely because the creators have integrity.
Good question….cant think of anything off the top of my head. Sad times we live in…..the locusts fly in and destroy…then move on to the next target
🤬 off, Disney.
The whole franchise became overblown. It’s not a religion.
I don't see Star Wars fans, mostly DEIsney consumers. May the Fart Be With You 🐀💨😷
Ooooh so noooow they love the fans!!! Wow!!!
I care! I love Star Wars, I watch New Fanfilms every month and read the Original EU books. My love can't be killed.
Oh you reminded me I need to go watch that fan made edit from a few years ago. Thx
Thank you! May the 4th be with You!
May the 4th was best when it was an in-joke with us nerdy Star Wars fans, before it was co-opted by a mega corporation for another opportunity to sell you crappy merch.
May the farce be withheld!
They think the fans are stupid That was so patronizing.
A massive part of it for me was physically going to toys r us at midnight and picking up the latest figs. For a while now it seems like Disney rely on Lego, clothing brands and toy stores making a song and dance around the day
"It almost made me miss liking Star Wars"... Yep. My brain was just like "this video is a thing that exists."
We, the Rebellion, care.
Star Wars day should be May 25th. The day it first appeared in the world.
Lol, they love us now that we're walking away in droves
Star wars died the day Disney purchased Lucasfilm. I was a hug fan, but will never give Disney another cent for anything they produce, nor do I care to go back and watch the original films. I can't even enjoy the old movies because of the way Disney systematically destroyed the legacy characters.
do what I do, ignore disney as fan fic onlyfans psychos kid lovers , I then delegate their versions to the wasteland
The Pizza Hut promotion video was from 1999, the original release of TPM.
yeah, I thought this would be obvious to them as no promotion from a restaurant chain would be for one showing of an old movie.
Looks like it was an in house promotion to tell the employees how to get ready for it and not to give away the cool pizza boxes as leftover doggie bags.
I miss the Big New Yorker pizzas in the Phantom Menace boxes.
After The Last Jedi, I don’t think I could be a fan of Disney Star Wars if I tried.
May the Fourth is my birthday, and I saw A New Hope in theatres the first time around. I was _the_ fan.
Now, I wouldn't piss on the franchise if it were on fire.
Which it is.
I saw your other may the 4th video in my feed first and genuinely thought "I don't care, does anyone anymore?" so seeing this title made me laugh.
Companies that weren't built by "nerds" or "geeks" don't want "nerds" and "geeks" as customers because "nerds and geeks aren't cool" even though we were the ones spending the money. It almost certainly boils down to that.
I’ve lost all interest. I don’t even want it to rest in peace, as it’s gone to the dogs.
A day to celebrate the bulldozing of cherished childhood memories. Hooray?
'it started with the fans' ...it'll end with the fans as well
Do or do not.
Kathleen did not even try.
That’s how I felt that day……oh shit whatever…. Magic is gone……had they ever done the Thimothy Zhan trilogy, they’d be swimming in money
My kids see it as a family holiday. We eat star wars themed food and usually watch a star wars movie. But this year my daughter decided to watch Stranger Things instead.
I remember around a decade or so ago, a co-worker who was mad into Star Wars came to me for budgeting tips for her and her husband's big May the 4th splurge. Despite my being old enough to've seen the first film at the show before they put the A New Hope line in the opening crawl, I'd never heard of this. As she explained it to me, all I could think was 'so you're just going to buy a crapton of Star Wars merch when you've already got too much in your tiny apartment and you're a few months pregnant and really need to be saving for that baby'. She got huffy with me that I mentioned with the baby coming, they both needed to watch their spending and get their place prepped for the coming baby. I count it as one of the signs I was really getting tired of the nerd culture 'buy all the dust catching stuff even if you have trouble paying bills' thing.
I worked at Pizza Hutt during the Phantom Menace release. I still have some of that stuff.
Notice NO clips from the ot or even prequels, but no sequels either. Just Disney plus. They want to show off only their stuff but they know the majority of fans don’t like the sequels
They know what we want, and still won’t give it to us
Pure apathy for Star Wars day, who would have thought? You did it Disney 👍
This is Star Wars Remembrance Day for me.
Flogging a dead horse comes to mind with Disney Star wars
If they’re my “family” - i wanna be emancipated. Total cringe.
We need more Dante on Film Threat.
Hey don't celebrate Star Wars, celebrate my B day with me.
May the 4th has become so commercialized that it definitely does not feel like the cool thing it used to be.
yep, my entire gaming group said "RIP" when SW came up on May4
Didn't actually realise until I saw this thumbnail. I can't be the only one who forgot and certainly don't care anymore.
The original Star Wars will never die. Celebrate the old days before the rise of Disney Star Wars!
"May the Woke end it without us!"
Alan, that Reva figure, you can buy it for $3 dollars at Ollies.
May 25th is the real Star Wars Day, IMHO😉 Now that I think about it; I haven't bought any Star Wars merch in a cool decade. I am still open to buying classic stormtroopers.
I was amused by it about a decade ago, but now I don’t really care anymore
Having just watched the OT in my local cinema, it’s the OT that sells tickets, characters, toys, and merch.
Have a look at Disney’s Galaxy Edge, it’s all about the OT!
Odd how there is not a lot of clips from the original films.
Star Wars (1977 - 2012).
Something I had excepted a long time ago. The excitement and memories of what I loved about Star Wars will never be taken away from my youth. That being said the current corporate overlords clearly didn't want my money or my investment any more. For a time I was angry but then I realized there is 100's of years of movies, television, comics, and books that I can enjoy. Instead of anger, spread what was both inspired and was created by Star Wars.
I agree, and love your attitude!
I never even watched episode 9. I'm pretty done with Disney in general and would like to support better things.
That Pizza Hut commercial is from the original release in 1999… guys wtf. How could you not tell…..
Looks like Yoda's been stabbed in the back with a lightsaber 🤣
Star Wars as a brand I don’t think I’ve seen such a quick demise since Wrestling Promotion WCW’s sinking between 1999 & 2001 before being bought by WWF/E in March 2001
Disney definitely ruined May 4th. It used to be for EVERYONE, now it's just for them, or their strange directors and producer.
May 4th is still good for old video game sales.
May the Sith rise again!
Notice we didn’t see any Kathleen Kennedy in that clip.
Disney has oversaturated the Star Wars merch you can find it everywhere, from Dollar Stores to Walmart discount bins. I do predict the Reva Star Wars toilet paper will be a big seller - wipe your crap with crap!
That promotion has to be from back in the day
I just came from the German Film and Comic Con. I always look for Star Wars action figures when I am there. This time only one seller was there with lots of action figures. Marvel, DC, lots of fantasy franchises. All those figures were nicely displayed on the tables, except Star Wars. Instead he had two big boxes with Vintage Collection and Black Series figures next to the tables. Every box damaged, every carton bent. That has become of Star Wars, a junk franchise!
Wait do these fools not understand that the fast food commercial is from '99??
Agreed, who cares? Not even Mark gets it anymore. And they screwed him hard.
I remember everyone hating Phantom Menace and Jar Jar. I think it’s funny that Disney Star Wars was so bad, that now we’re thinking, Episode 1 wasn’t that bad. Sorry we were so mean to you Jar Jar.
The voice of the character almost committed suicide over the bullying he received for it.
@@AttmayI remember that. Not cool. I never understood all the prequel hate. I felt bad for Ahmed Best and Jake Lloyd.
This is so ridiculous that one of the first people to be shown is Mark Hamill. He recently proved on TV that he serves the evil empire.
That moment in the white house is cringe as fuck when he tries to be funny.
Mark Hamill only played the role of Luke Skywalker, he has absolutely nothing in common with him in real life.
Frag Off Disney! -Lobo in regards to Star Wars 1977-1983.
Oh, May 4th was yesterday? Nah, I'm one who doesn't care anymore... but 10 years ago, I would have been furious that I missed this date.
