This video provides key quotes and analysis of the setting of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. Great for GCSE revision, I will provide detailed analysis along with key critical terminology to help you succeed in your GCSE Literature exams! Get your flash cards ready!
Honestly the best analysis for setting i've seen. Really appreciate how clear your annotations are. So helpful, especially with the exam being in two weeks.
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback - I’m really pleased you’ve found it helpful!
I have my year 11 mock tomorrow for english lit and I haven't understood jekyll and hyde one bit. I'm usually good at English but my motivation has been so low because of my teacher I've had this year. This video has helped me so much to even understand what the hells happened. Really good analysis in such a short video THANK YOU
Thanks so much for the lovely feedback. I’m really glad it helped. Good luck with the mock tomorrow! 🤞😀
@@missadamsteaches... The mock went as well as it could have! The question on Jekyll and Hyde was how Hyde is presented at threatening and dangerous. I remembered some of the setting analysis despite only learning it yesterday night. I actually have hope in getting into a sixth form to do literature. You have no idea how thankful I am, you've just saved my mock
hopefully, this comes up tomorrow, this video makes me feel like I am RL Stevenson
Ha! Love this! Fingers crossed for you. The good thing is that setting/symbolism works really well for loads of other things too. Good luck for tomorrow! 😀
Dw im sure you would be able to include setting, especially for anything about Jekyll or Hyde

Thanks so much! Good luck today! Let me know how it goes! 😀
@@missadamsteaches... i do eduqas and it was how was fear presented, hoping ive done okayyy
@@amnasajid1989 that’s a great question! I’m sure you will have smashed it!
Thank you so so much!
You're welcome!
how many quotes should i memorise for edexcel English literature Jekyll n hyde to ensure a 9
There's no hard and fast rule here but you need to ensure you have quotations to cover a range of possible themes / characters. Look to quotations that you can use for more than one essay - high frequency quotations. The most important thing is that you're happy with the context of the quotations - what's happening around them - so that you can show the examiner rich and detailed understanding.
Appreciate the response, are these videos for edexcel or aqa@@missadamsteaches...
@@flameedits6488 I teach Edexcel so that’s what I had in mind when making the videos. The actual content (analysis etc) is relevant to any study of the text though.
For edexcel you dont need to do language and structure devices for the question 2, also im unsure how some quotes will be able to answer certain types of edexcel questions such as the theme of friendship etc@@missadamsteaches...
What im scared about is learning all of these quotes and not being able to answer a question as none of them fit the theme they give eg friendship
