  • Ever wanted to make some of your favorite snacks from scratch? Chef Paisley will show you how to bake these delicious homemade cheddar crackers (similar to Cheez-Its). They're easy to make, and you'll know every ingredient that goes into them!
    Cheddar Crackers (Homemade “Cheez-Its”)

    Feel free to double the recipe (we did the following measurements because it was easier to handle a smaller batch when rolling out and baking)
    1/2 cup flour
    2 tablespoons cold butter, cut in cubes
    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    1/4 tablespoon salt
    1 1/2 tablespoons ice water
    1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or half kosher salt and half seasoned salt)
    Place the flour, butter, cheddar cheese, and salt in a food processor or blender and pulse until the mixture resembles sand. Add the ice water and pulse until the dough comes together.
    Form the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 1 hour.
    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into squares with a pizza cutter. Use a wooden skewer to poke a small hole in the center of each square (remember to make the holes a little larger than desired). Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle with additional salt if desired. Bake until golden brown, 15 to 17 minutes.
