The sad part is that one of the two got an actual supported by editor fighting scene. And that's most likely because they choose to recruit someone who was able to create a grassroot scene then gave them budget. Instead of Nintendo who just cockblocked the shit out of their scenes.

On the subject of Star Fox specifically: The on-foot gameplay in Star Fox Assault (as well as the entirety of Assault itself) is mad underrated and I'm glad Nintendo gave it another go. Hopefully one day Star Fox as a franchise gets back to where it needs to be, whether or not they focus on the Arwings. Great video as always! Pretty plausible origin for the shine! As well, I think it's cool that not only is the term "wavedashing" borrowed from Tekken, but Melee's competitive environment is inspired by Tekken's as well!
Same. 4 player Assault is crazy fun. And though it wasn't initially intended for the franchise, Starfox Adventure is solid as well- one of my favorite gamecube titles.

@@syweb2 nah I think that's just wife just assuming it's meant to be pronounced that way due to it looking kinda Japanese on a surface level, when in reality, it was probably spelt like that because melee has a character limit of only 4 characters for your name tag in-game, so he just simply used the first 4 letters of the name "Isaiah", and the name just stuck from there
I've noticed for a long time that the characters with made-up movesets tend to be better than those actually inspired by their games. Link and Mario easily take the most inspiration, and they tend to be average at best with some exceptions in the more recent games. When you make-up a moveset for a character, its really easy to go overboard. Captain Falcon in 64 and Melee is prolly the best example. Never does anything outside of his racer in his actual games, so they used the manga and cartoon to say "hmm... well I bet he COULD do this this and this...".
The ending made me smile. I can feel the even though I am new to smash. I started watching melee last year, and ultimate is my first competitive smash game. I love smash. Thanks Matt. Thanks AsumSaus.
