With the change in the World Tour, we no longer get to see the women's best finish the year at this wave. I'm sure that makes the locals happy, but it is such a great wave for a contest and some of the most memorable women's surfing moments in recent memory were at that Bay. I mean, Carissa's 10 and trading barrels with Fitzgibbons, etc.
Loved Honolua bay back in the 70ʻs. It was a close out day and 4 of us went out. Getting out was a challenge and someone ended up in the hospital. Guy, Kirk and I finished till sunset. I had a Lightnig Bolt shaped by Iggy. Thank you Kai and crew.
