Those painted wheels really suit it, it looks great and it's good to see one that hasn't been over restored. A pair of Coombs style spats would fix the tyre rub if there's a budget for them.
Lovely car Adam-your friend is brave to drive in the winter there with salt on the roads! Lovely leather and wood-so warm and luxurious. Funny about the lack of heat-I recall a story about Sir William Lyons meeting with Jag owners in the US and one topic was the relatively poor heater performance in cold weather. I believe Sir William's response was something like " Why don't you dress for the weather?" Classic response for sure-cheers.
Beautiful. If you daily a classic in South Africa you will have no classic very soon. Nice, rare cars are a magnet for idiots to crash into here. I take my classics out at 6:00 am on a Sunday morning and put them back into the garage still in time for church.
Is great to see one as a Daily. I live in Sydney and saw one driving to work in heavy traffic on a hot day the other day. so good to see it amongst the monochrome SUVs.
Allthoug I think the Mark 2 is more practical and still very good looking, I would like to have a S type as a daily driver more! But hey, they are still awesome Jags anyhow! Lucky you to service this car🎉
We used to have a 3.4 auto as a daily driver back in the mid80s to early 90s before trading it in on a XJ6 S2 SWB. My husband replaced the DG auto box with a Mod 12 & it transformed the car as the ratios were much better. We now have a 3.8 MOD as a club car. On both our Mk2s we fitted a cut out switch on the AED so we could switch it off immediately after cold starts & warm the engine up on a quick idle. My husband did not like the idea of a very rich mixture washing down the cylinder bores. We both find your videos very informative so please keep up the great work.
Best jaguar I’ve ever owned mark 2 it was a 1964 and had belonged to Chivas regal whiskey people I bought it in 1977 £700 pounds in Scotland 🏴 it had only done 43 thousand miles it was dark maroon with red leather was my daily driver for about 2 years but was sadly written off after an accident on the motorway it had been garaged and chauffeur driven up until I bought it
Gone are the days when l had the pick of 20 + Rovers , Jaguar mk 2 "S" types 's at £60 on a Monday morning (1970's ) lnterestinly, Triumph's were never in this "bargain " sale
I simply love history in motor vehicles. I am an automotive electrical and mechanical guy from the army however the use of the day don’t want these cars and most of them. It is such a shame to get the youth in interested because we are failing that way so many cars that are took decades to restore now not wanted at the auction house Left in the garage. Hopefully someone will look after it. Hold men want to spend a little more time with their grandchildren bringing them to make them interested and understand our history in transport regards Alan from down under. This island is nothing like what people Think it is vast and a full on military base from one to the other
"Copy Nothing" and "Live Exuberant!" That Mark II is what a true Jaguar saloon represents for the marque.
What a treasure 60 years old and a daily driver best regards Andy Allen
Nice MK2 thanks for the video Adam.
The interior colour is very nice, I don't think I've seen that before. Cognac flavour? Delicious.

A classic beauty
My absolute favourite, even mor so than the e-type. Well done to the owner for dailying it , I am not brave enough to that with mine over winter .
That is something for you to aim at with your S-type project next year !

I really love my 1960 Mark 2. I would never consider using it in the winter.
Over here you can get arrested for driving with a cognac flavored interior.😉 Beautiful car!
Lovely car
Really nice car!
I would daily drive it!
I will as soon as I get mine on the road :)

Don't grind the spat edge move the axle across on the panhard rod !
Well do both but the wheels are much wider than original
Nice car. Nokian tyres are wrong way mounted. Tires has rotation markings.

Not that quick. A good condition 3.4 auto did 193 km/h on road test. That engine sounds nice.
Fouled plugs...., short runs..., what this car needs is a good run out.......
