I love how in Japan, high schoolers still look like high schoolers. In the states, it seems like high schoolers are doing their best to look and act like they're in their mid 20s.
This makes me wildly uncomfortable how organized and calm everyone is. At my high school in the U.S, kids set the bathroom trash cans on fire. And it’s usually a surprise not to find someone smoking weed in the bathroom or vaping during class. And keep in mind there are over 3000 kids at my school so it’s never very clean. We have three janitors and the kids never clean up after themselves, it’s disgusting.
It's what happens when morals are degraded. Society starts to crumble and then country is taken over and population killed etc. The survivors rebuild with a focus on God.
this is one of the main reasons i want to transfer to a japanese highschool. unfortunately i have not been blessed with wealth and i cannot speak japanese.

Just look it up online, there is plenty of different programs which offer exchange to Japan! (Sorry that I can't really help you, but it's different for every country) Mine was called Ayusa, even though I think they changed their name to Intrax. Good luck with finding one for you! :)

Japan is amazing. I visited it a few days ago and what really surprised me is how society prevails over the individual, they are so respectful with each other. I believe the world needs to learn from Japanese people!
Until you realize they work themselves to death. No one has time for relationships and family. Societies that don't respect the individual aren't great unless you like a drone and enjoy just doing whatever somebody tells you do. Except of course the very few rich that you still bow down to.

its so productive. most of that anime school realism inspires me. its great to clean up after class and take over so many responsibilities in school. my class has been pretty much disobedient and rowdy, and us others would into trouble. most come in cars and go in cars and have maids in school to do the cleaning. I love the morning bicycle ride so much. the trouble is the unbearable heat and badly designed uniforms which makes summer worse, and too many heavy books to carry on the same day for each class. and bad roads. well I'm almost done with high school though, just the farewell, finals and then graduation. ill miss everyone. I feel like the majority of high school kids in Japan hate going to school on a bike, but I would personally love it. Maybe it's the effect of living in the busy city and having to take a bus in this polluted land that I live in, but I think that riding a bike to school surrounded by such a peaceful environment (excluding Japan's busy cities) can really prepare your mind state for school and wake you up. It seemed like a really long way to school though...I've watched other videos on RUclips of people filming their way to school and it seems like it's almost normal for the journey to be so long. I can think of lots of reasons why...but it's like Japan wants to be anime-ized XD Long walks to school, flower petals flowing in one direction, not many people on the street, sun shining brightly, greenery everywhere XD It's great...keep it up

1) don't expect it to be all anime and blah blah blah, being obsessed with anime there isn't really a "cool" thing 2) learn the language and culture and know it extremely well 3) being polite wherever you go, always say thank you, and being quiet on trains
Also, I know it might be hard (it was hard for me as well) but try to come out of your shell and talk to people! Since a lot of Japanese girls are also very shy, this is sometimes the only way to make friends. But when you do it a few times it will get a lot easier! Also, it might have been just my school where the girls were super shy ;)

I'm sure a large part of it has to do with the students' mandatory janitorial work; students are required (I believe) to stay after school and help clean. It also helps that the Japanese culture usually ingrains respect for one's surroundings and belongings as well. One of the reasons schools in America are usually so trashy is because kids don't have to clean up after themselves and thus most likely never get in the habit.

I found this 4 1/2 years late! That looked like a really nice school. I'm usually good at placing locations, but this one has thrown me- don't know where it is. But good showing on just a daily life going to school. Sweet and simple- love it! And a big thumbs up to using a Hatsune song! Cherish the memories you had there!
@dennis quiroz Not true. Bullying is common...but not everyone will be bullied. I've witnessed it, but in their cases, they were 「ハーフ」or "half". Another case that comes to mind, was when a mother asked how foreigners were treated at the school. Her son was also half Japanese and she was wondering if I noticed any children being rude to her son. They'd moved up from Okinawa and down there he was bullied terribly and even spat on. The other case I saw were Korean siblings. They were also fluent in English. They were bullied bad and I couldn't do anything about it because it wasn't my place. >_>

One of my friends from Japan visits the U.S. often and each time she comes she tells me a little bit about her culture. I love Japan so much and it's my dream to visit if not live there for a while. 1) don't expect it to be all anime and blah blah blah, being obsessed with anime there isn't really a "cool" thing 2) learn the language and culture and know it extremely well 3) being polite wherever you go, always say thank you, and being quiet on trains

Also, I know it might be hard (it was hard for me as well) but try to come out of your shell and talk to people! Since a lot of Japanese girls are also very shy, this is sometimes the only way to make friends. But when you do it a few times it will get a lot easier! Also, it might have been just my school where the girls were super shy ;)

Im impressed how they keep clean and care about their school,while at my school there are destroyed wc's lmao
I'm sure a large part of it has to do with the students' mandatory janitorial work; students are required (I believe) to stay after school and help clean. It also helps that the Japanese culture usually ingrains respect for one's surroundings and belongings as well. One of the reasons schools in America are usually so trashy is because kids don't have to clean up after themselves and thus most likely never get in the habit.

I found this 4 1/2 years late! That looked like a really nice school. I'm usually good at placing locations, but this one has thrown me- don't know where it is. But good showing on just a daily life going to school. Sweet and simple- love it! And a big thumbs up to using a Hatsune song! Cherish the memories you had there!

Another case that comes to mind, was when a mother asked how foreigners were treated at the school. Her son was also half Japanese and she was wondering if I noticed any children being rude to her son. They'd moved up from Okinawa and down there he was bullied terribly and even spat on. The other case I saw were Korean siblings. They were also fluent in English. They were bullied bad and I couldn't do anything about it because it wasn't my place. >_>
