    Thanks for the video! Your tool reminds me of what I have been working with some. A tire valve stem remover for automotive. One side is about 1/2 the other is 1/4. Makes coils and jump rings quick, imo. Cheers

    This video is fine to show how you make the leaves from scrap wire, could u show me how you do this when its attached to one of your trees, just so I can see how you get in-between and around the bigger branches x

      There's really no best way. I tend to roll my leaves in groups rather than 1 at time. Its tedious no matter the method.

    Wow, impressive video that is easy to see and understand. My hand does hurt after twisting one wire but looks great. Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    Interesting. What happens if you wait until the leaves are finished on the strand before "poofing" them up? I've made wire trees but never considered adding leaves. All of mine were dead of winter trees. ☃ Thanks for sharing your craft.

      +phyllis prater This is the only way I have found to make leaves and not have the wire break before finishing the cluster.

    Your leaf making bit looks a lot like a spanner bit. You might be able to find one that works for you and save some time. Great tutorial and thanks.

    Thanks for sharing with us. After the sculptures are complete, what do you suggest for keeping the dust of the leaves? also the shine on the wire fades :-(

    • @wiretrees
      @wiretrees  6 лет назад +1

      +MrRene1968 canned air like computer folks use works for dust, for most types of wire a weak solution of hydrochloric acid sprayed on and rinsed off promptly and well will bring shine back. The Tipper Tie brand Aluminum wire is the best wire I have found for keeping it's shine. Dawn dish soap and paint brush again rinsed off very well is good to do before the acid was if tree is very dirty like if it was outside and covered in spider webs. I had one of my Tipper Tie trees outside for a year, looked like the day I finished it after cleaning. Rinsing well is really important, do not let any soap or chemical dry on the tree.

    • @wiretrees
      @wiretrees  6 лет назад

      +MrRene1968 Some formulations of aluminum are not worth cleaning as they will get that whiteish cast to them a few weeks later.

    Do you have a video of making leaves on the tree. Would like to see how you navigate as leaves made, ?
    spinning tree

    • @wiretrees
      @wiretrees  7 лет назад +2

      +Natalie Purington Leaves are made from the top down and yes tree is spun and tilted to facilitate placing the leaf clusters to the branch. Hard to make a video of as it takes many hours. If someone would like to pay for the bandwith (data) I could live stream a whole tree. I will try to address your question in a future video, will be a long one though.

    hi, my loops turn out in a row rather than in a flower shape, what am I doing wrong?

    • @wiretrees
      @wiretrees  7 лет назад +2

      +Karleen Madison you are twisting a bit to far, if you twisted even farther you would make a circle with all the loops pointing inward. You will get it right with a little more practice I think.

    • @karenfavreau6268
      @karenfavreau6268 7 лет назад

      wiretrees well, when I use long strings of wire, if I form them into a circle, which is only about 5 loops,thenI have a long remaining string of wire,which is why I keep making loops...x
