@@luigicorvi1661I don't think her weight loss had any significant impact on her voice if any. For example Adele also lost a lot of weight and even though her voice did change she still has a great and most importantly healthy voice, back a few years ago she did have a nodule surgery mainly because of improper technique. Callas did go to a laryngologist for her voice and the doctor did tell her that her vocal cords are indead in pristine condition but she did have a hearing problem with one of her ears that's usually used to adjust the pitch and she didn't have time to take care of this problem because of work. Once her sister said in an interview I think in the late 70s after Callas's death that she didn't really loose her voice, she just lost her health and the fact that she was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disorder later in life after it being untreated for many years I think it tells it all.

Even when not at her best, Maria Callas could sing any of today's so called stars to a standstill. With respect to Dame Joan, who was a miracle, Maria Callas is the standard against which others are tried and all fail.
Its nonsense to suggest the small harsh voice of Callas from 1956 onwards was ever a match for the true power and beauty of the voice of Renata tebaldi .

People always say this was Callas 'not at her best.' I just do not get that. She still makes me cry. I find this so intensely moving. The fact that she's perhaps 'imperfect' makes it even more human and heartwarming. Late Callas or not, this recording ranks among the best ever of this lovely aria. No one criticizes the Parthenon for being in ruins. No one should criticize Callas for a couple of dodgy notes.
Her voice got better by the end of the tour. Watch the performance from Tokyo to see. So her voice was far from her zenith but the sheer magnitude of her acting and stage presence more than made up for it. She could have stood there and read the phone book and people would still have packed the auditorium.

It's by her own words and factual events that happened to her that her life was full of misery. Stop living in Lala Fairytale land and maybe do a little research.
@@JessBeautyJunkie she has been careful not to damage her brilliance by disparaging Ari so please let me! He was no match for her and he knew it. I will restrain myself to that end he suffered from severe small man syndrome. 🥴. I have nothing good to say about that snake Jackie O. 😂
I've never really understood Opera after watching Maria Im looking at most everything she has done I'm now a fan of Maria.
Died so young. They said she died of a heart attack. I say she died of a broken heart.. A rare talent and intellect. Such a huge loss.
For sure! A broken heart... I loved her. You can listen to a new Brazilian soprano Aline Legrand, is the same coloratura.
Chalice Guard beautiful comment. I think so. It’s so sad to see wonderful people like her end in such a lonely, sad manner. Admired by millions; loved sincerely by nobody. Sad and typical case of alone in the multitude.
The genius died so young ⭐
I love her 💖

I love you Maria. Thanks for your lovely voice and your great beauty. Amen.
Beautiful Angelic voice. Grazie mille
Even when not at her best, Maria Callas could sing any of today's so called stars to a standstill. With respect to Dame Joan, who was a miracle, Maria Callas is the standard against which others are tried and all fail.
Yes, the gold standard, but not all fail. Others have greatness too.
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Its nonsense to suggest the small harsh voice of Callas from 1956 onwards was ever a match for the true power and beauty of the voice of Renata tebaldi .
@@darylbarclay8037 Sutherland is shit and overrated af. Callas is WAY better.
@@fredoneil7396 Power and beauty yes! Emmotion, no!
Brava, Diva! I still get chills hearing your beautiful voice. 👑🕊️
Can’t wait to see the movie about her life! I admire her voice and class
Did you like it?
A wonderful woman! An impeccable artist! An unforgettable Diva! I love Maria Callas❤️
The wonderful Maria Callas who will live forever in our hearts. The most beautiful opera voice in this world. My heart hurts when I think about the reason of her early death. This was her last concert after a long suffering caused by her broken heart..
No , she had the performance in Japan after this.
I hate how the media and critics were so harsh at her. I wish she found contentment and peace in her last performance.
Indeed a voice so utterly unique. May she rest in peace. She gave us moments of beauty❤️
ome to your week of success and next level. May you move to the next higher level this week. Happy New Week ❤🙏🏻😊
I was just 19 yrs old when I heard her on her farewell tour in Los Angeles and it was historical to be in the same space with her. Her vulnerability and the love poured forth from us the audience was unlike anything I've ever encountered. Was her sound perfect? No. It didn't matter to her adoring fans.
This is so depressing, the critics killed her.It was not suppose to be like this.No judgment,we will love Maria for ever!!!!!!!!!
@Donnell Okafor That's right. If your gift and endless giving is that Great to recipients so unworthy and mean judgement is passed on those who judge.

@@mmjhcb is my English too convoluted here? Sorry I tend to want to put too much in too little.
I simply meant that bad behavior towards good people reflects badly on your character.
What a beautiful, and talented lady.
She was one of the most human woman ever yet there was something divine in her, she was a phenomenon. I adore her.
C Henrique I agree with you !! She is THE BEST!!!
DIVA!
Love her! When I was little, I wished I had the talent to be an opera singer. I really admired her.
Danke Maria Callas ❤❤

What a Lady!!!!!!🎉
This woman gave and we can only humbly and greatfully receive. True Prima Donna.
Que voz maravilhosa. Te amo Maria Callas. Bravo!
Farewell to a stunningly beautiful woman with a truly glorious voice, never to be surpassed.
Absolutely beautiful,
The Kenney's brought me here.
I was doing some digging on the past and I ended up finding this beautiful lady with a very amazing and unique voice. Something new to me for 2020 a good way to start my year listening to this kind of masterpiece that should still be listened to.🥰💝💞🙏🎶
Eloisa Aguilar 2020 at these heights we are have lost and still are losing amazing talents like this so going to looking at this is so refreshing. Let’s keep this alive for the rest of the future generations
The original diva.
People always say this was Callas 'not at her best.' I just do not get that. She still makes me cry. I find this so intensely moving. The fact that she's perhaps 'imperfect' makes it even more human and heartwarming. AND...who on Earth are those zombies in the audience who can't be bothered to stand up for this legendary woman who gave and gave to her fans???? They should be ashamed. I would have been cheering at the top of my lungs.
Her voice was gone here, no power or pitch. The beauty of this is that we get to see the "naked" artist, behind that voice that clothed it.
Tragic illness that took her voice and life such a beautiful woman
it's the truth that she was not her best at this time. Let imagine that how this piece of art could be if she was on her best?
BRAVO!
I totally agree, very objective comment.Thank you!
La Diva.
La Callas.
La Divina.
María,la mujer la humana la cantante.

It's as if I'm there watching her, on the edge of my seat, holding my breath from anticipation, eyes watering and then standing yelling bravo and crying at the same time! She is so beautiful and her voice is memorizing. I wish I could have seen her.
Late Callas or not, this recording ranks among the best ever of this lovely aria. No one criticizes the Parthenon for being in ruins. No one should criticize Callas for a couple of dodgy notes.
Bravissimo....It is oneothere World....
Couple ?? They were ALL shit !!
Matt75003 ❤️❤️❤️
Whosoever can do it better can throw the first stone.....nobody else
One critic said, "Her voice might have been in ruins. But they were the most magnificent ruins in the world".
She was La Divina.
Fantastic. I love her songs from Sri Lanka. leslie jayasuriya.
Electricity and passion. There can be only one La Callas. ❤
She was like a bright comet that streaked across the sky then fell to earth too soon. But while it was there none other was brighter.
Her voice got better by the end of the tour. Watch the performance from Tokyo to see. So her voice was far from her zenith but the sheer magnitude of her acting and stage presence more than made up for it. She could have stood there and read the phone book and people would still have packed the auditorium.
La Callas. Un moment de grâce... Un immense bonheur.. La Diva pour toujours.
We love you, Maria Callas, ever and forever. 💙⭐
She is like the goddess!
Me e madhe artiste
She was simply SUBLIME! 😊
Diva, siempre diva.

She was Legendary. Most definitely.
Just the fact these people saw this WONDERFUL woman ! Lucky them !!!! 😍🤩
I was there as a young student. It was a shock to hear some of the tones she produced - but I'm so grateful to have been there! No one before or since is in that realm of artistic, musical or dramatic cosmos!
