  • This video describes how to set the focus by moving the Z axis to the factory set position as well as adjusting the focus with the lens. This is helpful if you are just starting out with a factory set laser, have lost your perfect focus for some reason, or if you want to change your lens out.

Great video! @jtech - can you advise on (or better yet make a video on) how to focus the laser for the shroudless laser?

I am on a mac, and the FIRE button is non existent or not in the same "move" box as it appears on your screen... ???? Please help. I cannot find a way to fire laser to begin focusing / calibration

Press the "device settings" button on the top toolbar. Then enable the laser fire button in the settings editor. jtechphotonics.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/9-s-value-max-and-laser-fire-button.jpg

My laser even at .25% burns my workpiece. Ive never seen it as low as you had your.

My power needs to be at 8.5% to start being visible when pressing Fire. The beam flickers between 8.5% and 8.75%. 9% provides a steady beam to focus. Is this a setting I can adjust?

Sorry for the delay. Each driver and machine combination will be different. As long as it is low power the percentage is somewhat meaningless. 9% will be fine for the low end. It has to do with the laser "threshold" to turn on. Each combination of laser, driver, and control board is going to be a bit different.

Too bad your video about "focusing" was out of focus throughout almost the entire video huh

Good vid and product. Way too many "ums" though, it was very distracting.
