its very stirring watching harry's soul float across the caverns over the frogs and birds that may have killed him all while the mournful death song plays
Thanks for bestowing us with content, during this Christmas week when most other podcasts aren't! Don't forget to do some streams of burnout and SSX games, and the bonk games! Just a suggestion 😃
I will say that Twisted Metal Alliance is still very much around and kicking, even if it's seen better days. Twisted Metal: Black is still played online regularly and highly regarded among the players who are into that genre. There's definitely a community for car combat, though it is very small. As for who asked for the TV show? Pretty much no one, except those in the community who want something to laugh at while drinking.
Wait, is Arctic White a reference to the chewing gum Jenka then? It has a polar bear mascot, and had a distinct flavour of fruit blended with hairspray
PITFALL 3D is a good game, but the camera is unsteady (gives me nausea). On most games I zoom-out so I can get a wider view, but P3D doesn’t have that option .
Someone could literally write a book full of sequels or remakes for other consoles that completely miss the things that made the original great. I played a few games of Archon on the NES and while the board play is identical the actual battles and the way the pieces move and attack during the battles and the way the light / dark affecting the barriers worked compared to the 8-bit computers was hot garbage.
Good question; I vaguely recall a story where whomever did the music was told they could only use specific notes, and wrote the music around that. The 2600 couldn't generate accurate pitches across the musical scale, so only certain notes could be used. Now, that story may very well be an urban legend, but it sounds plausible given the limitations of the 2600.
@LaneDenson THE 2600’s musical limitations were well known by 1984. Previous games from 1980-81 had music, so the programmers knew what notes worked (or didn’t) .
@LaneDenson THE brilliance of Crane was creating a Digital Signal Processor inside the Pitfall 2 cart. It allowed creation of new notes the Atari could not normally play. (It also offloaded some sprite handling to improve the graphics.)

I'm here when 360p is the only option

Shout Outs to Quickclaw for holding it down!
1:03:10 It's a tragedy (Fireant Remix)
They should add Pitfall II to the street fighter 6 lobby arcade

That Super Pitfall romhack seems really good

This is fascinating!
My boyfriend during the drink taste test: “No. No! Don’t be silly.”
13:40 for gameplay
Streaming in 9 16 would upset me more than it should. Do it!
The natural follow-up would be the Legend of Zelda second quest..
In my house we called Quickclaw Snagglepuss
Pitfall 2 seems like a nintendo power guide required game, but before nintendo power

ENERGY DRINKS
I know David Crane is the lone credited programmer on the original Pitfall II, but do we know who did the music?

@@LaneDensonDefinitely feels like that’s plausible!

Shoutout to all the squirt drinkers 😏
There's certainly better speed runs than this, no offense.
I just found out about this easter egg today by accident.
360p gang gang
I would easily watch you for twice as long in a 9:16 ratio.
