Thanks for watching. This chainsaw was working just fine but it was leaking gas from the engine. After taking the engine cover off it was pretty obvious what the problem was. The fuel lines need to be replaced.
My grandfather treats his chainsaw like a prized jewel. Ever since day one he has only put ethanol free gas into its tank. He lets no one but himself use it. He always inspects what he is cutting to make sure there is nothing there to potentially damage the chain
Wow thats pretty cool.
And that's why your grand dads saw is going to last him.
Nice saw. I have a friend of mine in landscaping who uses this exact saw commercially. Great video.
thank you Luke Harrison for the comment I appreciate it.
Probably one of the best videos on RUclips. Thanks for posting. Great job.
thank you Albert de Laat for the comment I appreciate it.
Thanks for this. Had a 460 thats only a season old that was hemorrhaging fuel when tipped on its side.
It was this exact issue.
no problem
I have this exact saw bought it used, it hasn't run in 3 yrs and today my return line broke, that's a lot of dissambly, but seems easy enough. Thanks.
hopefully you can get it working
Great fuel leakage trouble shooting and repairing! Thank you kindly!
thank you Ahmed M
Yes fantastic video.
Wow alot of work just getting to the fuel line , good thing it's you doing the repair
i would guess it would cost about 100$ for someone else to do this work.
I wish I could show you what I went through with my 440 saw! Better off buying a new Echo!!!!!
If any good brand of used chainsaw was either getting sold for next to nothing or getting thrown out I'd grab it because I'd never sneeze at such an offer !
you and me both.
thanks. i am trying to learn how to fix the gas lines on a 345 now
am husben is
Excellent let me know if you have any issues
Sometimes you need to clean the carb, and the fuel is too thin. Good work 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.
Thank you Jonathan Benoit for the comment I really do appreciate your time
If your chainsaw catches on fire you are going to have a bad day. Nice video. I don't like how there is so much plastic in the Husqvarna chainsaw even a plastic crankcase in some models.
thank you Noel Peterson.
Used Husky yes I have just rebuilt a Husky 136 for a friend his loves his old chainsaw
thank you Patrick Boyd for the information I appreciate it.
They are ok. Stihl make a great saw. That’s what we always used. For something small around the house the husqavarna is fine. For a business. Prob not so much. IMO.
i understand your feelings
Stihl has more problems than anything. I've always been a Husqvarna fan. They've never let me down
I've got the very same saw i bought new and I won't buy another one of them unless I got a steal on it it hasn't been ran very much but it doesn't want to run I'm planning on switching fuel lines on it and clean tank breather when weather breaks
sorry to hear about that.
Thank you very much
No problem
Brilliant video. Thanks
no problem
Very Helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
6:58 cold start here. :D
my favorite
I have the same saw. I changed the fuel lines and rebuilt the carb and runs great. The fuel line the kit gave me was the smaller Inside diameter for the fuel filter to the carb and the 3/32 for the supply lines. My question is can you go to big of diameter on the fuel filter line?
I don't think so. I've gone up one size and it wasn't a problem
Great Video. Thank You !
You are welcome!
Excellent instructional video. So what do you like better than a Husky and why?
I like echo better, from what I've seen so far, they seem to run, very well, and I have decent quality.
Wow!
thanks
I honestly think that after seeing those fuel lines and purge bulb, I would have cleaned the carb and replaced the metering diaphragm while I was there. It’s too much work just to get to a chainsaw carb to not make it a one touch job.
you make a good point.
On my. Chain saw there's. To holes where the. Return hose goes..
what model is your chainsaw?
I had a husqavra 240 I dropped started when It kicked back on
is it running fine?
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE mine did too and i drop start for my own resk
Any chance you have this video job on a newer 440 saw? 2016 model.
let me check
unfortunately no
Im about to buy a husqvarna 128r. What you think about it?
great piece of equipment. I would buy too.
Where would you buy the fuel line and bulb? I was given the same model and no gas goes to the bulb. I figure the fuel line and bulb needs to be replaced. I am not sure where ro get it.
Thanks for the comment. If you want to get them locally I would go to your local hardware store. If you want to get them online, any large retailer would have them on their site.
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE thank you for taking the time to let me know. I will try my local HomeDepot/Lowes hardware stores.
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE is the bulb universal or is it brand specific? What size hose do i need? 3/16"?
@@PhatBoyiee yes the hose size is 3/16". This bulb is a remote bulb that is either screwed to the plastic it snaps in. They should have all it available at both lowes and home depot.
@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it.
Can someone tell me what size fuel line my 395xp takes I want to change it to Tygon
I wish I knew for sure myself
I would of guessed a fuel line
great guess
Last comment yes I'd buy a used Husqvarna
thanks me too. I think they're great saws
Husky saw is a piece of shit. My 460 Rancher used less than 50 hours and it broke apart, engine, clutch gear...etc. Get a one time use China chainsaw instead to spend over $100 to fix it.
thanks for the info
