      Thanks for the support! Yes I very much will, I miss the 08 type s I used to have, which is why I took up this project. Currently on a short hold due to a bummer update I'll post eventually, but everything can be fixed!

      I currently have a 08 Type S. Same model as yours. I love it. I hope you can get your car up and running. Looking forward to your next video.

    Exactly what I needed. Can you swap a J35A8 into a j3a23?

    hey man so how would I know if my TLS heads are the correct ones? I'm sure they are but I wanted to see if they are stamped or something. I don't really hear my vtec so I'm just checking. my block is stamped J35A8 so I'm sure its the corrects heads but you never know people are so. dang cheap they throw parts on that don't belong to save money then sell the car.

      Don't know the answer to that I don't remember where the stamps are or what they should be, but there's no way you wouldn't have VTEC on that j series. It is pretty quiet with the stock air intake hose though

    How much did the machine shop charge to go through the head? My timing belt broke and bent my heads so I'm trying figure out the best and cost effective option.

    • @gapplevr4915
      @gapplevr4915  2 года назад +2

      It all depends on how many valves bent, mine actually didn't have any valve damage so I didn't spend much. If you're in the Houston area I can refer you to some places for a quote

      Also my original block was warped beyond repair, so that's why I went and bought a J37

    In hindsight, you could have done a leak down test before tearing down anything. You could have also pulled the oil pan and quickly checked the bottom end.

      Yes I chose to learn the hard way.

    I have the same car and timing belt broke. Had the heads redone. But after putting back together it will only fire using starting fluid. Injectors not firing. Any clues you can give me

    • @gapplevr4915
      @gapplevr4915  2 года назад +1

      Check to see if you have any stored faults, make sure the crankshaft sensor is plugged in.

    • @jarrettfrazier6415
      @jarrettfrazier6415 2 года назад

      Yes it's plugged in but the o ly fault code is airbag deployed but it hasn't

    • @gapplevr4915
      @gapplevr4915  2 года назад

      @@jarrettfrazier6415 do you hear the fuel pump priming? Are you getting communication to the ECM?

    • @jarrettfrazier6415
      @jarrettfrazier6415 2 года назад

      Yes new fuel pump gas is getting up there but injectors not firing. Does the camshaft sensor have to do with the Injectors firing? And could it possibly be a ground. I know it's something simple cause was running when the timing belt broke

    • @gapplevr4915
      @gapplevr4915  2 года назад

      Check the ground on the engine mount and the one on the near the rear timing cover make sure they're tight. If you had a camshaft sensor issue you would see a fault. But if you don't have communication to the ECM then you won't see anything. Make sure the main harness near the fuel box is plugged in , and make sure all the injectors are plugged in since you were in that area.

    how does squirting oil in the cylinder cause the compression to go up? is it a permanent fix?

    • @gapplevr4915
      @gapplevr4915  2 года назад +1

      It's not a fix, it was used to diagnose the cause of the compression loss.
